The EURAS Information System

is a collection of several programs and databases of technical repair information, including a Know How community on the internet.

Target groups:

	Authorized workshops, engineers/technicians for consumer electronics
	Authorized suppliers for "white goods"
	Manufacturers of consumer electronics, as well as white goods and telecommunication.
	Large service organizations (chains and cooperatives)

NOTE: EURAS products are only sold to specialist workshops and technicians which are registered in the appropriate trade council, are members of a specialist workshop cooperative or have been authorized to carry out repairs by manufacturers of consumer- and communications electronics.

Exact definition of this criteria is country dependent.

Distribution

Along with our own operations in the various countries, we also have distribution partners, that guarantee our strict distribution policy. In many European countries our franchise-partners provide distribution of our products and services.

In other countries,

the "Radio and Television trade associations" are our distributors.

Many manufacturers of home entertainment electronics recommend the EURAS System - parallel with their information service - to thousands of technicians.

Employees/Cooperation Partners:

The employees of EURAS are mainly radio and television technicians and technical specialist translators.

Furthermore the system is supported by a multitude of external employees (specialist workshops, training directors and programmers).

History

Development of an international information service for professional service technicians of consumer- and communications electronics.

The EURAS System evolved from the ASWO problem-solving workshops. Over the years, these workshops became independent, taken over by qualified Radio- and TV technicians.

At the beginning of the Eighties the service operations of the consumer electronics were faced with new challenges. The arrival of video technology and the worldwide boom in video recorders and video cameras was a real problem for many service operations. Too many different appliances/models flooded the market which meant that individual service workshops were faced with completely new or foreign appliances/models to repair. Since they were poorly supplied with technical information, this often led to long, unprofitable repair times.

This difficult situation led to the birth of an idea... the problem was not the insufficient qualifications of the service technician ! Overall there were enough technicians who successfully tackled the new technology. At other sites there was also the necessary technical information. The problem was how to gather together the Know How of the experienced technicians and the information which was continually flooding the market and to put it into some kind of order, so that the individual service technician could go back to the information which he needed to solve a certain repair problem.

In this way the EURAS Information System was born. Initially in Germany, the database was built up over years of direct cooperation with manufacturers, company representatives and specialist workshops and is today continually added to, maintained and further developed all across Europe.

Today EURAS, with franchise partners in over 20 countries, forms _the_ repair information system for appliances/models of consumer and communications electronics.

The EURAS Information Databases are actively used by more than 9,000 service workshops worldwide, many of which play an active part in continually improving the databases.
