CTV5196 / ALIEN [TV (Standard)]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for CTV5196 / ALIEN.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Dead.
  • No line drive.
  • Chirping. in standby.
  • Switches to standby and red LED flashes after start-up with RC.

  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
  • No start-up of line stage. LED on.
  • No start-up. intermittently.
  • White screen. Flyback lines.
  • Annoying noise from PSU. Other functions OK.
  • Switches to standby. after start-up. (service info for ALIEN -CTV5196)
  • No start-up. Red LED blinks. (CTV5196 tip from ALIEN)
  • Excessive horizontal size. Pincushion distortion.
  • Ripple on verticals, more visible on outer edge of screen.
  • Slow start-up. Pulsating picture. Switches off by itself.
  • Noisy PSU after start-up. Standby OK.
  • Switches to standby (after a few seconds).
  • Annoying noise from PSU in standby.
  • Picture intermittently decreases and goes to standby.
  • Noise in picture.
  • Q605 fails shortly after switch on.
  • Tripping.
