- Purity fault and the sound hums. The positive temperature coefficient resistor has been changed.
- Poor quality picture in high channels.
- No functions.
- When switching from AV input to any pretuned channel, no horizontal sync, but shortly after picture synchonizes correctly.
- Necessary modification when replacing oscillator part.
- Tearing visible especially with crosshatch pattern. Vertical lines.
- Comes on for a short time. (picture attached)

- Vertical lines on right of picture. First line is blue. (picture attached)
- Small, pulsating picture, low brightness, sound level varies.
- IC401 (TDA3654) fails.
- Carries out unwanted operating steps eg. switches off, switches over channel, changes volume etc.
- Blank raster noise appears when aerial is unplugged. (809256 tips)
- Stuck in standby. LED flashes once and goes OFF.
- PSU does not oscillate. (picture attached) (809256 tip from BAUR)
- Stretched picture.
- Dead. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Small picture with hour glass effect.
- Colour is uncontrollable.
- The appliance switches off after hours or days and goes to standby. After switching on again it switches off after an even shorter period of time.
- Dead. Whining.
- Enable Hotel mode. Disable hotel mode.
- The side of the picture drops and a horizontal line appears. Only a third of the line end stage works. The sound is missing, but the power supply unit operates.
- Hiccups 3 times and switches off. Lamp lights.
- Crackling audio. Lines in picture. on the left.
- Intermittent colour bands at high contrast.
- At switch on, blank screen and loud hash noise.
- Occasionally, goes from top of picture to the green, hum in the speaker and dark bar. Goes from bottom to top. (809256 BAUR repair tip)
- Picture has shifted.
- No sound or nasal sound.
- No start-up. (809256 tip from BAUR)
- Vertical IC fails at switch on.
- No vertical deflection.
- No picture. Sound OK.
- Stand-by LED does not function.
- PSU chirps for approx 10 secs, then OK.
- R702 fails at once if the aerial cable is plugged in (cable connection).
- No RC functions. No front panel function.
- Power supply squeeling and dead.
- Vertical jitter.
- Very distorted picture with very strong vertical waves and picture almost black and white. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Pincushion distortion.
- Appliance is dead. Sometimes starts if turned on and off several times.
- Flickering colours with Canal Plus.
- No audio. No picture.
- The picture is green and purple. No SECAM identification.
- No vertical deflection, only a horizontal bright line. Sound OK.
- Switches off by itself after a while. Vertical lines on picture right side of approx 10 cm. Jamming in AV mode.

- LED lights up for 1 sec. at switch on then switches off.
- 24V when disconnecting collector of line transistor, otherwise voltage collapses. Line transformer does not start up. 5V on IC721. Display does not light up, standby lights up. (picture attached)
- Blank raster. Flyback lines. (service info for BAUR -809256)
- Picture pulls inwards at the top
- LED flashes briefly at switch on, then appliance switches off.
- Picture flickers horizontally. (809256 tips)
- Image jitter in upper part when turning on. Disappears after a short while.
- The appliance goes out of tune in VHF.
- Erratic start-up. (809256 tips)
- Tuning drifts.
- No start up, stuck in standby. Red LED switches off when trying to start up.
- Sometimes while watching a TV channel, TXT appears twisted, as if it had line tearing.
- Bright picture. Flyback lines.
- Switches off by itself. at start-up.
- The appliance remains in standby and the LED remains lit up.
- Distorted picture. at top.
- At switch on, stand by display lights up for a short time, line end stage attempts to work, but switches off again straight away.
- No power supply outputs.
- Does not start when cold. Only chatters. Appliance runs when warm.
- PSU whistles. in standby.
- Sound but no picture.
- Set dead. Trys to come on but trips rapidly then cuts off.
- Station memory cuts out intermittently, especially when connecting the cable the stations fall out. Then the contrast adjustment gets defective and the appliance doesn't respond to the RC.
- Stuck in standby. Attempts to start up, LED flashes one time and turns off.
- Defective mains fuse. Functions OK for two weeks after replacement. (809256 tips)
- No start-up from standby. (picture attached)
- PSU doesn't start up. Pulsates.
- E/W pinch and picture is folded up vertically at bottom.
- "S" distortion. Cannot be adjusted.
- Line output stage U is 45V.
- Occasionally the PSU does not start up. If it does, the appliance is ok. (PSU on the right with STK54041).
- Intermittent shut down, numbers still light up and the channels can be changed.
- The station storage breaks down completely, when connected to cable, all the programmes are mixed up. The contrast control is defective and the remote control does not work. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- 00 on display, remote control often fails or no functions possible.
- Picture becomes quite dark and gets distorted after 20 or 30 minutes.
- PSU attempts to start with noise. After 3-4 secs it stops and LED indicator goes off.
- Mains fuse blown and mains transistor T707 (BU908) s/c.
- Hum on sound and picture. Capacitor on mains rectifier has been changed. 12V and 16V on IC521 are too low. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Vibration at top of picture. Picture height changes.
- Set dead or intermittently dead. Set may not go to standby via remote. (809256 tip from BAUR)
- Vertical collapse.
- No synchronisation. intermittently.
- White spot when switching TV off.
- No blue. (BAUR - 809256 information)
- Stuck in standby. LED is red .
- Line S2055 fails immediately. FBT has been changed, TDA8372 has been changed.
- G2 is too high, if attempting to decrease, picture is visible for a few secs then becomes dark.
- Excessive horizontal size.
- Picture shaking in random direction.
- Starts up, but after 10 minutes picture is snowy and tuner sensibility decreases
- No start-up. Standby LED flashes .
- Line shakes in the top part of the picture. V amplitude jumps.
- When in standby appliance hums or crackles. LED pulses.
- Power supply. When rebuilding this supply, it is possible that R512 may have failed.
- No picture and sound. Buzzing sound at switch on. Standby LED is blinking, then go to standby.
- The screen is black and the power supply whistles. (service info for BAUR -809256)
- BU508 fails in line output stage immediately after start-up.
- No tuning. Higher channels in band I/III/V are not received. (809256 BAUR repair tip)
- Starts up only after several attempts, fizzles for 10 secs, then OK.
- Dead, channel lights OK.
- Reduced vertical and horizontal size.
- Picture width varies according to picture content. Power supply voltages ok and stable. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Horizontal sync error. Spund appears only when horizontal is synchronized. Can be adjusted with pot, but fails again when switching channel.
- The screen is black and the appliance is in safety mode. There is a white horizontal line across the screen. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Impossible to go into standard LL as the appliance remains locked in standard BG.
- Vertical IC burnt.
- Time base whistles and goes into safety mode. Fault persists when FBT has been changed. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- No start-up (when cold). Standby LED flashes . PSU pulsates.
- No red.
- Vertical lines on left side of screen, thiner towards edges and bigger towards centre, approx. 10 cm on screen. Lines tremble. Fault present also in AV mode with black screen. Switches off after a while.
- Switches to protection mode.

- No picture and no sound. Image distorted.

- Black shadow in centre of picture.
- No colour.

- Vertical stripe in the left picture third. (809256 tip from BAUR)
- Shuts down. at start-up.
- Picture is small and pulses, brightness is low and the sound is variable.
- When switched on the appliance goes into stand by then starts up. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Set dead. R502 is in open circuit but at switch on there is a bright flash and the plug fuse goes open circuit.
- Tuning of the sound is incorrect as one track is O/C.
- Goes on and off again for a short time.
- No sound or picture channel change indicator o.k.
- No picture.
- Switches off intermittently, comes then back.
- Shuts down. after start-up.
- Picture is horizontally highly distorted.
- Standby LED lights even after switching on, and switches then off. Lamp lights.
- Shuts down. Standby LED does not light.

- After half-an-hour flashing lines appear on screen.
- Switches off and goes to standby after hours or days. After switching back on, the appliance switches off again after 30 mins. After that, in even shorter time.
- Twisted picture when switching on from cold.
- Picture vibrates slightly for approx. 1 min.
- Power supply does not function.
- Switches off after a few secs. with a whistling sound.
- Picture becomes snowy and image offset after approx 20 minutes of operation.

- Encrypted Canal Plus after 1 hr.
- Battery is discharged too quickly.
- Hum in picture. Lines shifted on top.
- Switches on. Pulsates 3 times, then switches off.
- Horizontal stripe.

- Poor start up when cold. Hiccups. OK after several attempts.
- Repeat failure of the STR58041.
- During operation switches over by itself to other channels.
- Ballooning.
- Black screen.
- No HV (intermittently).
- Hum on sound and picture. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Does not start up from standby, cracking is audible and appliance switches OFF, standby LED switches off.
- Reduced picture, low brightness and varying sound.
- Chirping.

- Intermittent line drive failure causing no picture but sound is OK.
- After changing the deflection transistor BU 508 it blows again after 1-2 days. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Appliance will not start up. IC701, D717 and C711 have already been changed. Appliance still won't start up. (809256 tip from BAUR)
- The lower half of the picture does not exist.
- Does not start. PSU starts up briefly, then protective circuit is active.
- Blinking colours or no colour on Canal Plus.
