7618902 RTV240PSW / BLAUPUNKT [Video recorder]

supplies the following faults for 7618902 / BLAUPUNKT.
List of fault symptoms:
- PB speed changes.
- No reeling possible, otherwise everything OK.
- Defective thread in.
- Difficult to insert cassette or does not accept cassette.
- Tape stuck. in PB.
- Occasionally, after cassette has been introduced, pre-loading does not occur. Cassette has to be ejected again. If PLAY button is pressed, appliance switches off. It can be restarted only after disconnecting mains.
- Setting clock frequency.
- Small end cog splits then slips when torque is applied.
- The cassette is not pulled in straight
- Switching on/off TV modulator.
- Luminance writing current adjustment.
- Poor cassette loading and lacing.
- Poor loading.

- Does not lace up correctly. PB only after pushing play button twice. Tape loops. Cassette is not always accepted
- Changes on operating panel MDCP1 -> MDCP2.
- Loads tape then ejects immediately.
- Cassette blocked and noise from the gears when connecting to the mains.
- Cassette is not retracted. Display lights up. No function.
- Tapes are broken when winding or rewinding quickly and when you stop to go into PB.
- Tape is not thread in after eject.
- Rewind of a VHS cassette at top speed does not respect the stop at the end of the tape if the duration of the tape is not suitably selected. No slowing down at the end of the tape. There is a risk of destroying the tape. (picture attached)
- FF and REW defective. Tape is initialised for a short time, then stops.
- Does not load the cassette or lace up the tape. Fault may occur intermittently or constantly.
- Does not erase audio. intermittently.
- No ATTS. Drive mechanism stops after inserting cassette.
- Starts PB then right reel table stops. Tape is too tight when coming out of supply reel table.
- When lacing in tape slips behind the back tension lever. (service info for BLAUPUNKT -7618902)
- Ejects cassette after one second in PB.
- Squeaking from the appliance and waves in the picture after some time.
- Loads tape then ejects immediately. intermittently.
- Difficult tape drive in PB.
- Compartment moves down. Tape is not laced in. Drive jams.
- The left tape loading loosens.
- Tooth segments of the front flap are damaged.
- When unlacing the tape lever remains pressed on and the threading ring does not go to its starting position.
- Not accepts tape. Goes to standby when try to insert tape.
- Intermittent malfunction of mechanism.
- Cassette is accepted and then ejected with tape loops. REW appears on display.

- Does not carry out drive mechanism functions or carries them out correctly only sometimes, nontransparent faulty picture.
- Tape is damaged. when ejected.
- When trying to eject the cassette, it jams on the upper part of the operating panel.
- Mechanism does not move although the threading motor runs.
- OK for short time from standby or when tape inserted; then immediately ejects tape and goes back to standby.
- Tape immediately threads out after inserting cassette.
- No deck functions when cassette inserted. (7618902 tips)
- Loud noises when moving cassette compartment in.
- No tape movement in PB, FF or REW.
- The right reel table does not run, appliance forms tape loops and shows F6 on the display.
- Operating noises in FF and REW.
- No eject. Does not accept cassette when manually wound; PB and REC OK.
- Tape loops occur if reeling process is interrupted.
- Cassette loader gear often jumps.
- No ATTS.
- Threading motor seized up and its drive chip burnt out.
- Tapes tangle, sometimes eject and sometimes just switch off when PB.

- Tape is not taken up to the audio control head.
- Holder for pulse roller pos.110 and 107 is defective.
- Appliance does not accept the cassette (not even in service function A5) (7618902 tip from BLAUPUNKT)
- EJECTS when any function selected.
- After EJECT, appliance loads cassette by itself.
- Tape is damaged.
- Intermittent tape loops.
- Poor tape guide at pinch roller.
- Tape stuck. intermittently.
- Tape damage when switching from REW to Eject or from Stop to Eject.
- Tape retracts, ATTS is not carried out, no reaction to transport mode. (with circuit diagram extract)

- Mechanism jammed. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- PAL chrominance writing current adjustment.
- Tape is not taken up.
- Tape winds round capstan shaft when cassette has lowered. Display shows F1. In service function A5 the compartment goes down, capstan shaft turns immediately and transport ring turns slowly when lacing up. (extract of circuit diagram attached)

- Does not accept tape. Display OK .
- Switches off REC and PB sometimes, unlaces and rewinds.
- Cassette compartment goes up and down. No display.
- Faulty mechanic functions.
- Deck moves up/down and in/out.
- Mechanism blocks when loading.
- Defective driver, clatters, accepts no tape.
- Laces up tape at initialisation, but does not transport it. Clock disappears.
- Tape laces in. PB for approx. 4 secs then switches into stop position.
- Accepts a tape, loads up, then immediately ejects, leaving tape looped inside.
- Cassette is retracted immediately after eject.
- Intermittently tape loop on eject.
- Appliance is continually in tracking. Sometimes it functions for several seconds.
- Tape is not ejecting correctly.
- Tape is damaged. in PB (after a few seconds).
- No mechanical functions. Eject OK .
- Mechanical rattling or cassette is ejected in FF and REW.
- Poor load or eject.
- Lacing mechanism is defective.
- Tape stuck. when ejected.
- Tape loop into the drive when it stops during REV/ FF.
- Tape sticks to cylinder in reverse picture search.
- Tape stuck inside when switching from REW or FF to eject. (BLAUPUNKT - 7618902 information)
- Intermittently tape is ejected when PB, FF or REC selected.
- Cassette is not loaded or ejected. Lacing motor runs.
- Tape is damaged. No audio.
- White frequency adjustment.
- Lever 32F, that is operated by cam gear, comes out of its support after approx. 1-2 weeks.
- No audio REC or old REC is not erased. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- No mechanical functions.
- Sync frequency adjustment.
- REW is hard or hardly any REW.
- On eject command, tape is ejected, but then automatically taken back. Tape is stuck and mechanism does not function any more.
- Does not eject normally.
- The brass tape lever next to the pinch roller twitches during play, the take- up reel runs jerkily.
- No eject. Other functions OK .
- VCR doesn't respond to the RC. RC works well with the TV.
- Loads tape then ejects immediately. Shuts down.
- Tape stuck. After removing does not accept tapes. (BLAUPUNKT - 7618902 information)
- Tape stuck.
- Tape damage when lacing up. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Drive problems, eject, insert, lace up do not function or not always.
- Display pos. 7102 (4822 130 91144) on MDCP1.
- Cassette flap does not open. Cassette cannot be removed.
- Cassette is no longer ejected. Drive stops.

- Cassette stuck. No function possible. "Inoperative" is displayed.
- No ATTS detection, only counter.
- Cassette door does not open/close or tape is damaged.
- Tape loops.
- Luminance PB level adjustment.
- Loads tape then ejects immediately. Switches to protection mode (intermittently).
- Loud rattling when rewinding. FF ok.
- Eject when switching over from reverse to normal.
- VCR 1 - VCR 2. Adjustment of VCR; adjustment of RC. The adjustment must be performed if the VCR works via front keys and it displays VCR 1 (or 2) via RC.
- Cassette is loaded otherwise no further drive functions possible. In the Service test program under certain circumstances error code E1 (threading error) or E2 (capstan error) appears. Perhaps no display content.
- Slow tape loading. Interference on picture via tuner when loading.
- No drive function.
- Cassette is not accepted. Compartment is not lowered and motor does not start up.
- The tape is cut at the lower edge of the tape on the guide flange (exploded diagram nr.147).
- Lound noise from mechanism. When ejecting tape, lift loads again and ejects by itself several times.
- Tape is ejected and then drawn back.
- Goes to FF or CUE. (service info for BLAUPUNKT -7618902)
- Drive does not lace up properly. Tape guide bolt does not reach video head disk. Sluggish drive and does not unlace. Switches off by itself.
- Squeaks when lacing up or during unlacing. Does not eject and the lacing belt slips through.
- Tape looping intermittently.
- No display. No user control. Tape is lowered.
- No lacing in.
- No drive functions, only tape draw-in and eject available.
- Cassette is immediately ejected. Cassette compartment is correctly positioned in appliance. Reads in.
- Cassette is not accepted. Display shows "Test".
- Deck threads very slowly.
- Does not load tape. intermittently.
- Damages tape, especially with 240 mins cassettes.
- Deck goes to REW for approx 2 secs repeating 3 times then goes to FF for 4 secs then EJECTS tape. Accepts tape OK. Half load arm loads OK.
- Does not load cassette completely. Accepts cassette, briefly REW and then ejects. (BLAUPUNKT - 7618902 information)
- E-E level adjustment.
- Tape forms loops. When operating in service function A 5 the appliance laces up, but the video head and capstan do not turn. No further functions are taken. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Change in the component list. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Rattling in fast forward. (7618902 tip from BLAUPUNKT)
- Tape is not fully laced into the cassette when ejecting (tape loop with tape damage). Slow FFW and switches back to picture search (7618902 tips)
- No start-up.
- Longplay recording is not possible, loses track position.
- Head drum motor turns but doesn't thread in after operating Play, FF, REW etc. Noise. Threads in after approx 8secs, then unthreads and switches off. (picture attached)
- REW and FFW are defective. CUE and REV normal.
- No PB.
- Creases tapes. Noise bands on screen. Displays "TRACK".
- The cassette compartment does not lower and the compartment guide is bent.
- Tape is ejected when PB, FF or REW selected.
- A loop of tape left out upon eject. Noisy FF and REW. Damaging tape upon PB. (7618902 BLAUPUNKT repair tip)
- No eject. Tape loops.
- Rattle during lace-up.
- Cassette compartment stuck. Cannot be moved with eject.
- New compartment construction WD22. (BLAUPUNKT - 7618902 information)
- Appliance ejects and then re-accepts cassette again. Tape laces up but no mechanical functions. PB is OK. When ejecting cassette, mains plug must be disconnected and connected again.
- Ejects tape after 5 seconds of rewind.
- After playing for a long time the appliance does not unlace.
- Cassette is ejected if you switch from PLAY to STOP and REV.
- Sometimes cassette sticks against flap.
- Tape left out of cassette when eject is selected.
- Tape is not loaded around video head and cassette ejected after 15 secs. Cassette loading ok.
- Shuts down. after start-up. Tape is ejected. Eats tape.
- SECAM chrominance writing current adjustment.
- Drive does not work correctly and is noisy.
- No functions. Left reel-table turns faintly by pulses.
- Al expulsar la cinta, la cinta no sale del casete y se queda atascada.

- REW does not function. FF to slow.
- Does not accept tape.
- No FF. intermittently. No REW. intermittently. PB OK . Mechanical noise.
