ECC14146 / CITEK [TV]

- No control over width and pincushion correction.
- Dead. Standby LED flashes at switch on.
- Continuous sweeping (at switch on).
- Rolling and appliance trips intermittently.
- Sound ok. Peak white raster, then tripping.
- Width is reduced.
- CRT cuts out, no picture.
- Dead. 320V on chopper.
- Horizontal black lines on screen.
- Critical field sync.
- No switch on using RC.
- Colour fault on teletext.
- Second LED on bass/treble/balance permanently.
- Dark picture and hum on sound.
- No picture.
- Intermittent random volume and brightness variations.
- Vertical foldover.

- Distorted sound, IC hotter than normal.
- Frame bounce for first five mins.
- Intermittently blowing mains fuse.
- Intermittent field roll and tripping.
- Tripping line output transistor BU208 S/C. When replaced BU208 goes faulty after short while.
- Field sync is intermittent.
- Cassette is ejected when in timer mode for longer period of time. Also sometimes ejected when in standby (very rare).

- Vertical collapse (intermittently).
- Buzz on sound with stereo VHS.

- Incorrect picture size.
- Line synchronisation is missing.
- Whistling noise on stereo.
- Inadequate line sync with reduced brightness.
- Vertical collapse.
- TDA3652 no longer available.
- No audio.
- Field collapse. Trips.
- When appliance is warm interlace is poor.
- Intermittent tripping and line squegging, trips from cold start, line squegging begins at bottom of screen and rolls upwards. Chopper transistor's heatsink hotter than normal.
- Line tearing with high brightness.
- LF hum with connections to stereo VCR.
- Vertical jitter.

- The appliance blows TR701 (chopper transistor).
- Inadequate line sync on prerecorded tapes.
- Reduced height to approx 4" scan.
- Sound is missing for a few seconds.
- White spots on the picture and loud screeching on sound.

- The set trips and frame collapse in between tripping.
- Poor field interlace in centre of screen.

- Peak white raster followed by tripping. Sound OK.
- Height is reduced to approximately four inches.
- No picture at switch on.
- Black horizontal lines across the screen.
- Line cramping and vertical lines on left hand side of screen.
- Sams info.

- Dead. Channel indicator on.
- Drifts off tune very occasionally.

- Ghosting.

- No switch on via RC.

- Low sound as if muted; comes on for instant

- Sweeping continuously at switch on.

- Displays AGC off tune errors for first 30 mins after switch on. (ECC14146 CITEK repair tip)
- Second LEDs for bass, treble and balance permanently on. (CITEK - ECC14146 information)
- Ragged verticals at high brightness settings.
- After extended operating time makes loud banging noises and picture distortion. Also occurs in aV mode.
- Foldover and/or field collapse. Reduced height.
- After a few hours picture is missing and CRT heaters are missing.
- Low width
- Appliance has search tuning of the single press button type. Locks to each station it comes to automatically. If left switched off, memory dies on channel 1 only.
- When replacing frame output IC. (TDA3652 no longer available).
- Jagged verticals, most severe down the sides of the picture, effect varies with contrast level. (ECC14146 CITEK repair tip)
- Trips, but is OK if scan coil plug is disconnected.
- General frame and field defects.
- Will not store tuning. Set may only store 1 or 2 channels.
- Sound OK, no picture.
- No picture, no Eht no heaters all Ht's slightly low.

- Field scan distorted.
- Chopper transistor TR701 blows instantly at switch on.
- Intermittently trips and occasionally goes to standby. Ok if scan coils unplugged.
- Goes to standby by itself.
- Tuning searching, hum in speaker.
- Poor line sync also low brightness.
- Field instability.
- Remote brightness not working very well.
- When set switched on, No 1 shows in the channel display but No 1 preset cannot be used to tune in a channel- it has no effect. Instead controls 3 and 7 tune position 1.
- Slight line tear, hum with flashing. Tripping intermittently.

- Faint intercarrier buzz.
- Tripping.
- Intermittent bar graph display on at switch on.

- 2 large hum bars plus humming on sound.

- Weak contrast.
- Black stripes on left hand side of screen.
- Numbers 1 to 4 on channel indicator are not working.
- Teletext message stays on screen.
- Text lines at top of screen on video channel.
- Slight ghost effect on picture.
- Text lines at top in AV mode.
- Intermittent no raster or dark picture.
- Intermittent shuts down.
- Retrace lines at top.
- Flyback lines at the top of the picture.
- No line scan, no channel display and no video intermittently.
- Picture rolling when warm.
- No teletext display apart from the beginnings of a few characters on the extreme left hand side of the screen.

- Low frequency hum varying with video content.
- Non-linear line scan.
- Rolling & tripping intermittently.
- Set trips if line stage distorted. P/Supply runs but TR701 overheats and fails.
- TR6 blows at switch on.
- Sound and video are missing.
- Trips.
- Frame is reduced, foldover or fails.
- Frame roll-with change of brightness.
- Hum and dark picture.
- Standby LED remains on after switch on.
- CRT problems.
- Lines flash on picture, may not affect all channels.
- Frame cramp and rolling at bottom.
- Ballooning effect.
- Frame foldover or creeping.
- Volume/col varies or goes to standby.
- No colour.
- The appliance has a white screen with flyback lines.
- After 15 mins picture starts narrowing and then trips out.
- Height is reduced with slow flyback lines.
- No line sync and the line hold control has no effect.
- Random channel changing and going to standby.
- Reduced height & slow flyback.
- Loud hum on sound and two large hum bars on screen.
- Changes channel by itself, goes to TXT and intermittently powers down.
- Lower part of picture blanked out.
- Playback video has sideways jitter.
- Poor field interlacement in centre of picture.

- Intermittent blowing of line output transistor.
- Shading in picture.
- No picture. No heater. Sound OK.
- Display fades out after a couple of hours.
- No TXT (intermittently).
- Height problems.
- Faint white vertical line approx 4 inches from the left hand side of screen
- Chopper transistor and HT fuse blown.
- Tripping, rolling and excessive width.

- Can be switched on from cold but after about a quarter of an hour it trips on and off a few times then remains off.
- Relay chatters.

- RC brightness adjustment function does not work. Picture is good but not bright enough as beam limiter appears to function too soon.

- Random tripping on channel change.
- Drop out during channel change.
- No east/west correction. RV851/852 is functional.
- Trips, usually at switch on.
- Tuning drifts, patterning.

- Picture dim and then no picture.
- No raster. Screen does not come up.

- Field scan is non linear.

- Field cramp at bottom and rolls after a while.
- Rolling & tripping intermittently.
- Rapid destruction of BU208A line output transistor.
- Colour is missing on teletext.
- No field sync, no sound.
- Picture has white spots.
- Blank, snowy raster with mute LED on.
- Intermittently picture drifts approx 15cm towards the right and 2 black bands appear on the left side of the screen which is left with no picture.
- Moire pattern.
- Picture is missing, just green raster with flyback lines.
- Set tripping as soon as turned on, EHT can be heard to rustle up.
- CRT cuts out, no sound.
- 3/4 of the picture is blanked out (bottom part).
