CL2916F / CLAYTON [TV 70-74 (66-70) cm picture]

  • Shuts down, after a while. Coloured spots remain on screen.
  • Q601(BU2508AF) blows after a few minutes.

  • Tries to start up. LED is green for an instant then becomes red again. (service info for CLAYTON -CL2916F)
  • Appliance does not switch on, no LED display, a constant click from PSU.
  • Reduced vertical size. Excessive horizontal size. No picture. intermittently.
  • PSU pulsates.
  • No line drive.
  • Stretched picture.
  • Popping noise from speakers and squeak from power supply twice a second. Standby LED does not lit.
  • No start-up. intermittently.
  • E/W fault. Excessive horizontal size.
  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
  • Pincushion distortion. Picture too big.
  • Switches after start up from standby to green and goes back to standby.
  • Reduced horizontal size. intermittently.
  • Mains fuse fails immediately after start-up.
  • R639 (10K) burns.
  • D606 overheats.
  • No TXT.
  • LED flashes 2-3 times green and then switches back to standby.
  • Noisy picture. Only a blue square. Sound OK.
  • No start-up from standby. LED blinks . Arcing.
  • No function, mains BU fails repeatedly.
  • Switches to standby. intermittently. LED flickers .
  • Buzzing noise from speakers when first turned on. Sometimes picture interference too.
  • PSU pumps at start-up.
  • No start-up from standby.
  • Chirping.
  • No picture. Coloured lines.
  • PSU does not start. LED is off. Low ticking.
  • Audio disappears. 5min timer appears in OSD, then counts down and switches off. Fault occurs intermittently.
  • Power supply fault. (CL2916F tips)
  • Vertical line.
  • No start up. Standby LED does not light up. Faint ticking from the loudspeakers.
  • No start-up. LED blinks .
  • Ticking noise. LED blinks .
  • Menu is only in English. Cannot change values in service mode. Picture is in 16/9 format.
  • Standby OK. When switched on, the appliance tries to start. Cuts up and LED alternates green-red.
  • Vertical collapse.
  • Dead. Tripping audio via left speaker.
  • Lines in picture.
  • No or intermittent picture. Dark picture.
  • No switch on, red LED lit, then green LED flickers.
  • Dark picture (intermittently).
  • Picture too wide. Height is normal. E/W not ok. Slight bowing in the TXT.

  • No tube heaters.

  • PSU and D800 (BA159) blown.
  • Dark picture.
  • Stuck in standby.
  • Picture is too bright and blurred sporadically. Error occurs when CRT board is tapped.
  • Memory loss.
  • No HV.
  • No E/W correction. Picture too big.
  • Shuts down. after start-up.
  • Dead. LED lit. .
  • No start-up. LED is green.
  • Cannot switch to DK mode via main menu.
  • Picture too small. after a few minutes.
  • Tripping. intermittently.
  • Q801 is defective.
  • PSU IC800 is defective. (CL2916F tips)
  • Poor vertical linearity. Vertical foldover at bottom.
  • No sound. Cannot call up installation menu.
  • Small corrugations and no audio after start-up. After warm-up there is gurgling audio. Picture and audio OK after a while.
  • No audio. No picture.
  • +UB control range is incorrect. +UB cannot be adjusted to minimum 155V.
  • Picture is folded over from the top and approx 5 cm are missing from upper picture edge.
  • Pulsating picture. Jagged verticals. Picture size varies.
  • Oversized picture. Picture rolls over at upper picture edge when TXT is called up. Only blue picture via AV.
  • E/W fault.
  • No CRT heater operation. (CL2916F tip from CLAYTON)
  • ATP is performed but no channel stored. All program positions are on channel 5. If channel is input manually, fine tuning drifts off tune.
  • Only half a picture, top is black. Picture has folded over.
  • PSU pulsates. at start-up.
  • No horizontal synchronisation. Colour fault.
  • Control LED flickers only slightly red, othewise no function.
  • No picture. Audio OK .
  • Geometry settings.
  • Reduced horizontal size. Stripes in picture. on the left.
  • Trips back to standby after switch-on.
  • Stuck in standby. Faint ticking noise audible, which changes frequency when keys are pressed. (CLAYTON - CL2916F information)
  • No TXT. No OSD.
  • Squealing from PSU. at start-up.

  • No sound menu in main menu and no sound.
  • Horizontal bars run through picture.
  • White dashes on picture when cold.
  • PSU switches on only if the value of the trimmer resistor is increased to VR800.
  • Remains in standby, LED becomes slightly darker after switch on (1sec) then brighter again.
  • No RC after some time, later ok again. OSD displays tear after some time.
  • Trips.
  • No picture. No EHT. Audio OK.
  • No picture. TXT OK .
  • Insufficient E/W defelction, Error decreases when warming up.

  • Power supply cuts out.
  • Tripping.

  • Switches to standby. Standby LED flashes .
  • Picture brightness fluctuates or becomes increasingly darker, may intermittently be completely black.
  • Switches to standby. LED is red . (CL2916F tip from CLAYTON)
  • No vertical deflection.
  • Excessive vertical and horizontal size.
  • Geometry fault.
  • Poor picture. Flyback lines.
  • No start-up. Standby LED becomes green for a second, then reverts to standby.
  • White horizontal stripes in picture.
  • Squealing noise. intermittently.
  • Stuck in standby. Red LED pulses. Chirping noise from switch-mode transformer.
  • No CRT heaters.
  • Beeping sound in STANDBY mode from power supply.
  • Stuck in standby. intermittently. No RC functions. No front panel function. after start-up.
  • Dark picture. after a while.
  • Primary of PSU pulsating.
  • No front panel function.
  • Reduced vertical and horizontal size. No STEREO.
  • Dead. Standby LED lit .
  • Blows D808 in secondary PSU when bringing set out of standby. Squealing from PSU at switch-on. (CLAYTON - CL2916F information)
  • Reduced vertical and horizontal size.
  • Tripping. Red LED blinks.
  • No S correction.
  • Enter service mode.
  • No RC functions.
