1000HS / DELL [17" monitors]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for 1000HS / DELL.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Dead. No AC reaching main board.
  • No picture. Ub HV approx. 20V (normal with 640x480 approx. 32V).
  • Access to service mode.
  • No picture. Thin vertical red line in the middle of the screen.
  • No synchronisation.
  • Most sensitive colour adjustment. (1000HS tips)
  • S/C in the line output stage. (1000HS tip from DELL)
  • No vertical synchronisation. Picture width is approx 1cm.
  • Colour varies.
  • Picture is too large and too dark. High voltage is too low, cannot be controlled via pot RT5.
  • Vertical deflection is shifted towards the top.
  • No high voltage. No drive signal from diode 109 for the high voltage (T9).
  • Thin red line vertically in the middle of screen.
  • PSU is defective, R1 is burnt.
  • One colour missing.
  • Line output stage is defective. T32 and T27 S/C. R224 O/C.
  • Specifications.
  • Geometry adjustment.
  • Blurry picture. in the centre.
  • Brightness varies.
  • No functions.
  • No start-up.
  • Picture is too wide. The lower the deflection frequency, the more severe the E/W fault (pincushion).
  • Picture is too dark or no picture.
  • High voltage comes on for a short and then switches off, sometimes also high voltage flashover.
  • No start-up. Power LED lit .
  • Reduced horizontal size.
  • Horizontal collapse.
  • Low light adjustment.
  • Operating voltages adjustment.
  • Vertical end stage line. (1000HS tips)
  • Horizontal size too small. Slight width changes.
  • PSU does not work.
  • Horizontal output stage is knock sensitive. Horizontal deflection transistor may fail.
  • High light adjustment.
  • Type of transistors T21 and T22 at R195.
  • PSU does not switch on.
  • Replacement type for transformer M3.
  • HV adjustment.
  • Vertical line.
  • Picture is dark, only weakly visible and too large. Ub HV approx. 15V. (1000HS tip from DELL)
  • Contrast and brightness pump.
  • Wide vertical line.
  • Dead. No LED lit (after a while).
  • No brightness control.
  • Picture gets darker and larger after 5 mins. Changes repeatedly, returns to normal and then goes dark again.
  • Focus adjustment.
  • Preliminary picture adjustments.
  • Horizontal line.
  • Picture still only lilac. No green.
  • Switches to standby (intermittently).
  • Horizontal and vertical overscan.
  • Dead. LED is green.
  • No horizontal deflection.
  • Sync range adjustment.
  • Picture width is noisy, flickers.
  • No HV.

With help of this list a solution is found often when DELL 1000HS fails.
