346 / FIRSTLINE [TV]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for 346 / FIRSTLINE.
List of fault symptoms:
- Black edges on top and at the bottom. Picture is available though all adjustments are set to minimum. Cannot be adjusted and no storage.
- No TXT (intermittently). (picture attached)
- No start-up from standby. Green led flashes twice then switches to red.
- Low audio. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Excessive horizontal size. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Locking codes misfunctioning.
- R809 blown. (picture attached)
- Moire or line in picture with some band 1 stations (eg. channel 4) on certain aerial equipment.
- Switches off from standby, LED is briefly green, then goes back to red.

- Slight flicker after five mins, worsens as time goes on. Colour flickers ON/OFF. (picture attached)
- Adjustments in service menu.
- Picture is OK, but it is necessary to readjust G2 at each start-up, otherwise screen becomes black.
- Audio output chip IC100 fails repeatedly.
- PSU pulsates. Switches to standby. after a while.
- No start-up. Standby LED tries to go green then goes back to red.

- Ripple on verticals.
- No horizontal drive at pin 40 of deflection processor. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- No or poor synchronisation. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- PSU transistor fails at start-up. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Mains transistor fails immediately again.
Netztransistor stirbt sofort wieder
- Switching transistor in primary PSU is S/C.
- Switches to protection mode (after a while).
- Shuts down (after a few seconds).
- No function. PSU is dead.
- Blank raster with 2 red, green and blue horizontal lines, approx one third down screen. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Goes to standby, when pressing Volume, Mute or Menu buttons.
- No picture, no sound. Standby diode flashes briefly green at switch on.
- Snowy raster. Reduced width. No tuning. Unable to access SERVICE mode. Locks up if picture menu entered.
- Picture appears briefly but resorts to four horizontal lines. Sound OK. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Distorted sound. Volume cannot be adjusted.
- Red standby light changes to green then switches back to red.
- No start-up. LED is red after operating mains switch. If switched on (via program key on user control or RC) LED lights green and then goes off.

- BU2508D fails immediately at switch on.

- Stuck in standby. Green LED flashes .
- PSU destroyed.
- E/W fault. Screeching noise. Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
- Does not switch to standby.
- PSU ticks in standby and hisses in full load mode.
- Tripping. at start-up.
- Blue screen.
- Horizontal lines.

- Picture reduced horizontally in 16/9 and 4/3 mode.
- E/W fault (after a while).

- Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
- Occasionally slight flashover in the picture.
- Picture lost, then screen is black and RGB test lines moving in top half of screen.
- Blank raster.
- No start-up. Standby LED lit .

- Picture too small.
- Picture flickers with 3 coloured lines in upper side of picture.
- Dead. LED blinks .

- No front panel function. RC OK.

- Appliance goes to standby if switched on with RC. Standby LED flashes green.
- IC802 (MC44604P) fails repeatedly.
- Reduced horizontal deflection. Reduced vertical deflection. Vertical foldover. at top and bottom.
- Does not always switch on. Pumps after switch on.
- Vertical fault.
- Picture collapses. Shock sensitive.
- Power supply fails. Loud noise in the chopper.
- Voltage Usys is only 35V.
- Line BU508A fails again immediately.

- After start-up front LED is red, becomes green shortly and then red again. Dummy load lamp lights up shortly and then goes out.
- Only one primary colour with flyback lines.
- Picture quivers depending on brightness.

- R717 (2K2) burnt repeatedly.
