C2093H / GEC [TV]

supplies the following faults for C2093H / GEC.
List of fault symptoms:
- Set starts up then goes dead.
- Field fault and not storing channels in memory.
- Dead, odd neon display lit.

- Video is missing, blank raster.
- Comes on momentarily then goes dead.
- Set comes on with standby - - signs and channel 1 but no other signs of life.
- Fine bright vertical line at top of picture.
- Blurry picture.
- Frame bounce or frame jumping effect.
- No colour.
- Odd characters or dots in the display window. (C2093H tips)
- HT high.
- Defective PSU.
- Appliance is dead, channel display lit.
- Black lines on raster and picture goes off.
- Dead. Shows "1" in display.
- No picture. at top.
- Low remote range.
- Top of picture has bright thin vertical line.
- Intermittently goes into standby. Incorrect operation of Ch+/Ch- buttons on TV.
- Starts up then goes dead.
- Bends at top of screen on VCR PB.
- Intermittent standby and intermittently channel numbers change.
- No LEDs lit unless switched on at set switch, and mains plug inserted; then "--" is displayed and set is stuck in standby.
- No picture, no audio. Channel indicators lit.
- High ht. F800 o/c.
- Fine bright vertical lines.
- Holes and gaps in picture with blue screen.
- Picture size changes when varying brightness level.

- Picture becomes half white and half black.
- Frame bounce or frame jumping effect.
- Height reduced to 2ins.
- Insufficient height. No vertical sync. Double line effect.
- No frame scan.
- Horizontal line going through centre of picture.
- Dead. Display OK.

- Intermittent colour.
- Intermittent rolling. (GEC - C2093H information)
- Top of picture blanks. Picture floods blue. one or both faults may depend on beam current.
- Intermittently blue raster. (GEC - C2093H information)
- Appliance is dead with number 1 and the standby LED's alight in the display. If the up or down button is pressed the number changes, but the standby LED's remains alight.
- Blank raster, sound ok. (C2093H tips)
- Snow in picture.
- Dead. Channel display shows --1.
- Intermittent loss of screen graphics.
- Top half of picture black.
- Goes dead after a split second.
- Bright blank screen and flyback lines.
- No red.
- Intermittently low brightness or excessive red.
- No RC function, channel change defective.
- HT present but high. (service info for GEC -C2093H)
- Stuck in standby.
- Dead. Standby LED and channel indicators OK.
- Comes on then trips.
- Blank raster and video is missing.
- Switches to standby after 5 minutes; tuning up/down buttons actuate incorrect functions; does not tune; odd dots or characters in display window; no teletext operation.
- High level of brightness which is impossible to modify by the user controls.
- Dead. Channel display OK.
- Snow. No signals.
- Channel indicator only.
- Set tripping when switched on, odd occasion would work ok.
- Dark screen. Sound ok.
- Appliance is dead, build up of EHT then trips. Display ok.
- Intermittently dead.
- Dead. Whines.
- Stuck in standby but channel O.K
- Dead. Trips once at switch on.
- The screen flashes red, green or blue when the channel is changed.
- Reduced vertical size.
- Picture flashes with lines on screen.
- Trips.
- No RC operation intermittently.
- No audio. No picture.
- Vertical roll.
- Snowy raster. No channel display or no tuning.
- Inconsistant bright blue raster intermittently.
- Rolling and picture foldover.
- Appliance is dead but standby LED is lit.
- Reduced height to approx 2 inches.
- Blue picture. intermittently. Bars in picture. at top. (C2093H tips)
- Top of picture blank. Picture floods blue. one or both faults may show and both are dependent on beam current.
- Bright vertical line about a third of the way across the screen on top of an otherwise perfect picture.
- Tuning up and down button actuates the wrong functions.
- Line jitter.
- Field bounce/rolling.
- Set going to standby mode after running for 5 minutes.
- Set going to standby mode after running for 5 mins.
- Picture appears to have holes/blank gaps and screen turns blue. (C2093H tips)
- Line and field synchronisation are missing.
- Left hand side dark.
- Dead. Display shows 1.
- No raster.
- Non-linear scan.
- Partial field collapse.
- No synchronisation.
- No field scan. No sound, no picture.
- Frame roll after set warms up.
- Trips at switch on intermittently.
- Does not store memory.
- Intermittently thick structure of horizontal lines. I.e., one line out of every two contains no video signal info.
- Left hand side of picture is dark.
- Vertical instability and top part of picture cannot be seen.

- Scan is non linear.
- Top and bottom of field scan is increased and superimposed. (C2093H GEC repair tip)
- No picture or sound, channel display "on".
- Set is stuck in standby though it does change channels.
- Intermittent frame bounce.
