C2102 / GEC [TV]

supplies the following faults for C2102 / GEC.
List of fault symptoms:
- Video output adjustments
- No picture.
- Weak contrast.
- Little contrast.
- IF detector tank coil alignment.
- Mains hum, sound buzzes and picture distorted.
- AFC coil alignment.
- Luma drive adjustment.
- No front display. Does not change channels.
- The channel indicator on the front worked and the set could be switched into standby but no picture or sound.
- Line frequency adjustment.
- Protection is triggered.
- If the line output transistor S2000AF is S/C.
- AGC adjustment.
- Dead. Channel LED OK.
- No start-up (intermittently).
- Line phase control adjustment.
- Greenish picture.
- Poor picture. Low contrast.
- Field output.
- TXT decoder-setting-up.
- Various intermittent faults.
- Intermittent blue in picture.
- Line output transistor S2000AF is S/C.
- Field shift/field height adjustment.
- Sound rejector alignment.
- Chroma band-pass alignment - decoder.

- No start-up. Display OK .
- Delay line input and output alignment - decoder.
- Line width/E-W correction adjustment
- During VCR playback, white dots move across picture.
- Intermittent colour distortion.
- Sound detector coil alignment.
- Reference oscillator alignment - decoder.
- Set fails after a electrical storm .
- Picture shakes and flickers, shifts sideways across screen, goes black and white next to blue screen then fades away. (service info for GEC -C2102)
- No audio. No LED with excessive brightness.
- Line collapse, down the centre of screen there is a vertical line. (C2102 tips)
- Unsuccessfully attempts to power up. No channel read-out.
- TXT contrast adjustment.
- Motorboating noise.
- After set had been on for approx. two hours, there was line tearing across the middle of the picture together with a slight sideways displacement of the image to appear.
- No E/W correction.
- Does not tune from cold; when warmed up tuning would start and normal picture appears.
- Colour saturation adjustment
- When first switched on, raster is bright, sound and LED display are missing, then screen goes dark and across the top is a bright band.
- No or weak sound.
- Picture tube adjustment - R, G, B backgrounds.
- Intermittent loss of colour and lines across the picture.
- Does not change channels. No display.
- At switch on, no sound, no LED display and a bright raster which quickly went dark with a half inch bright band across the top.
- Intermittent sync, brightness, audio, and tuning.
- Switches on by itself.
- Dead. Channel LED lit. Switches to standby OK.
- Vertical foldover at top.
- Dead (after lightning strike).
- Tries to come on but fails. No channel read out.
- Dead.
- Flat and milky picture.
- Not tuning, remote functions sluggish.
- No picture or sound. Display ok.
- 6MHz VCO adjustment - TXT.
- No sync, brightness, sound and tuning intermittently.
- No tuning (when cold).
- Background colours and brightness vary.
- Black level adjustment.
- Sync is very defective.
- No audio. No picture. Channel change and display OK.
- Interference bands in picture.
- Raster is too bright with flyback lines. (GEC - C2102 information)
- Raster is blank white, colour is missing.
- Line output stage makes ticking noise. (GEC - C2102 information)
- Foldover and flyback lines at top.
- Green picture.
- Picture tube focus adjustment.
- Poor picture.
- Delay line amplitude alignment - decoder.
- Screen is not lit up. When TV switched on then off again, momentary black and white picture.
- Stuck on a channel.
- IBT line drifts.
- Black levels adjustment.
- Sometimes the appliance shows "yellow faces" on the picture.
- Defective after electrical storm.
- No picture. Sound OK.
- Stuck in standby.
- Display and 6V are missing, appliance starts up.
- No sound or picture. Display ok.
- Only switches on after various attempts. Harsh noise.
- Chroma trap alignment - decoder.
- Blank screen with flyback lines. (C2102 tips)
- No tuning. (C2102 tips)
- No audio. Straight bar at top of picture.
- Channel display LEDs flickering.
- Bright band at top. Audio OK.
- VCR compatabality.
- No tuning from cold. When it had warmed up a bit the tuning would start to work and a normal picture would appear.
- No audio. No raster. Display OK . (GEC - C2102 information)
- Q403 (S2000AF) fails repeatedly.
- Switches on spontaneously during standby.
- Intermittent failure of Q801/R4051.
- Picture has black and white lines across, signals are missing.
- Line output stage does not start up. Channel indicator on front ok and set can be switched to standby.
- Fuse blows intermittently.
- Line linearity/width adjustment.
With help of this list a solution is found often when GEC C2102 fails.
