C2290H / GEC [TV]

supplies the following faults for C2290H / GEC.
List of fault symptoms:
- No picture. Raster with vertical black lines over whole screen
- Strange picture with no colour. The verticals are bent and smeared.

- Screen is blank on left hand side, teletext is ok.
- Field jitter intermittently.
- Left hand side of raster bright.
- Intermittently dead.

- Intermittent field jitter and small variation in height.
- Field bounce. Intermittently top inch of picture disappears.
- Teletext lines covering the top one third of screen.
- Intermittent loss of station. Picture returns if channel button pushed.
- Picture comes on orange on one side of the screen, then the whole of the screen. The orange goes and you just make out picture in the background, then lines come on the picture.
- No picture.

- Bright high-contrast picture and loud sound, with the brightness, volume, contrast and colour controls inoperative.
- Dead. Stuck in standby.
- Dull raster.
- Blank picture. No channel change.
- Stuck in standby.
- Loss of picture after 10 mins.

- Blank white raster with flyback lines.
- Dead. Standby light is on.
- Stuck on stand-by.
- Intermittently sound crackles.
- Appliance looks dead but channel LED lit. (GEC - C2290H information)
- Set trips after approx. ten seconds.
- No TXT.
- Raster blanked out. No drive to rgb driver transistors from IC501. (C2290H GEC repair tip)
- Appliance works at switch on for ten seconds to ten minutes, then the seven segment display goes out, the picture and sound disappear and the three LED's on the front light up.
- Line output transistor goes S/C (every 2 days after 10 mins).
- Field size varies or field collapse.
- Weak contrast, no colour. Sound OK; controls have no effect.
- Intermittently going to standby.
- Intermittent picture increases in size with the brightness varying then turning itself into standby.
- Small picture on stand-by.
- Frame rolling.
- Does not switch to standby.

- Picture composed of large white dots.
- Set dead. HT voltage higher than the correct 112V.
- Insufficient line and field synchronization.

- No picture. Audio OK.
- No functions.
- Top of picture folded over.
- In trip.
- Intermittently picture bounces.
- No sound or picture, channel identification lit.

- No functions on front controls.
- Search tuning does not lock and sound is muted.
- No results and a check on the 111V line showed that it was at 20V via the start up diode D908.
- Set comes on in video mode intermittent no channel select.

- When switching to standby appliance remains on.
- Line jitter.
- Intermittent picture increases in size with varying brightness then goes by itself into standby.
- Picture pulling on dark scenes with a light background like sky.

- Excessive brightness occurred very intermittently.
- No picture. Channel indicator number '1' is lit.
- Trips into standby.
- Picture made up of small squares.
- Intermittent field jitter, or tiny height variations.
- Poor sync; no tuning lock.
