3576 / ITT [TV]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for 3576 / ITT.
List of fault symptoms:
- Distorted TXT.
- Line fault when appliance is switched on. Patterning after a few mins as if AFC pulling tuning upwards to the point where line sync begins to break up.
- Picture is very bright and only the outlines of the picture content can be seen. Colours are not ok.
- Poor picture.
- Appliance trips at switch on, EHT level rises then falls.
- Intermittent black bars, blanking.
- No picture. No audio. Standby LED flashes .
- No picture. Audio crackles. All voltages are ok.
- No picture. No sound. Start up OK.
- Unstable colour temperature.
- No picture. No sound. When loading the horizontal voltage is approx 108V and the PSU squeaks. All transistors in the primary PSU, D714, C714, C715 have already been replaced.
- "Moire" in the UHF area. Low aerial voltage (noises).
- Sound fault
- Blank screen with line 2" from top, buzzing on sound. On changing channel picture would appear for a few seconds floating sideways.
- Occasionally with stereo transmissions the stereo lamp flickers and audio playback occurs in mono.
- R518 (100 ohm) burns up.
- Picture or sound dropout caused by knocking.
- When receiving teletext there may be representation problems (eg missing teletext rows).
- From the bottom, the picture comes slowly up the screen then the appliance turns off.
- No picture. No sound. Display OK. Seems like all channels are on AV. Stereo indication OK.
- No teletext or is defective.
- Top 1/2 picture reduced, bottom 1/2 normal. (3576 ITT repair tip)
- The TXT shows white lines.
- Line jitter ER/sync.
- Failure of T738 (type on 4046).
- Picture and sound show intermittent faults caused by knocking. (3576 ITT repair tip)
- Volume difference between TV and AV.
- Low H.T. or dead.
- No horizontal synchronisation. after a while.
- After being switched on a too bright white picture can be seen and afterwards the protective circuit turns the appliance off.
- The PSU functions, however output voltage is only approx 80% of the rated voltage. (3576 tip from ITT)
- Light in the picture. Almost no picture perceived and no colour present. Brightness should be adjusted but not the colour.
- How to store values in SERVICE mode.
- Distorted picture. when cold. OK after a while .
- No raster.
- Lines flashing on the picture.
- Picture shifted vertically.
- Moire lines. No PIP.
- No RC functions.
- Picture twitches. After some time interference lines appear.
- Some picture parts drop out. TXT is distorted.
- After voltage flashover in the picture tube the operation unit switches to AV`mode.
- No tuning.
- Snow in picture.
- Unstable picture.
- The TV is intermittently saturated with light.
- Cannot store with M key
- Green picture (intermittently).
- Strange problems on horizontal stage. (3576 tip from ITT)
- Horizontal line. at top.
- RC only functions when approx 10cm away
- Usys is too high (approx. 160V) (ITT - 3576 information)
- Vertical stripes on left picture side.
- Colour flickers.
- No colour.
- Most sound faults.
- Intermittent brightness. Vertical stripes. TXT jitters. (3576 tip from ITT)
- Colour fault.
- Occasionally the appliance switches off If the chassis has been knocked the fault also occurs.
- Picture rolls.
- Tint distortions during the first minutes of operation after switching on appliance. Picture tube still has max emission.
- Intermittent standby. (3576 tips)
- Commands of IR transmitter and of control panel are accepted (diode flashes) but not carried out. Blockage is removed by switching off then switching on again.
- Clock does not run through.
- Snowy raster.
- Greyscale flickering. (3576 ITT repair tip)
- The appliance does not function. +145V is missing. The electr. protection does not respond. (3576 ITT repair tip)
- Reduced vertical size at bottom.
- The colour changes, flickers and the brightness changes to an empty white field. (3576 tip from ITT)
- The power supply for both the digi-version appliances do not function very well when they are not loaded.
- Lines can be seen horizontally in the picture, it jumps and occasionally the picture lowers approx 10cm.
- Reduced vertical deflection. after a few hours.
- Shuts down. intermittently.
- Flyback lines. at top.
- Failure of the e-w diodes.
- BU208 is defective.
- Picture and sound are missing, incorrect channel tuning.
- Colour and/ or luminance noise when warm.
- No audio. (service info for ITT -3576)
- Weak, vertical lines can be seen on a grey background.
- Dark picture. Horizontal line in upper picture part. Colours alter.
- Reduced vertical size. Picture rolls.
- Shuts down. at start-up. (service info for ITT -3576)
- Unlinear field scan.
- Line fault and patterning.
- Distorted audio (after a while). No picture.
- Dead. after a few seconds.
- No display.
- All received stations are only weak, flickering and with a white horizontal rolling bar. Stations can be stored. Everything OK through SCART socket.
- No start-up.
- Erratic start-up.
- No brightness. Audio OK .
- Raster error. Picture centering cannot be adjusted enough to top.
- Replacement transistors fail without an obvious reason (T742).
- Running colours.
- Unstable picture. OK after approx 10 mins. (service info for ITT -3576)
- Crackling audio. depending on picture content.
- S and sibilants are distorted.
- No RC functions. intermittently.
- Moire effect in case of appliances with PIP.
- Cannot be switched over from still picture to moving picture when warm.
- 50V in PSU instead of 145V.
- No switch on from RC. Switches on from standby. Picture is dark and no display.
- Intermittent audio and picture. Intermittent audio and picture.
- Defective vertical linearity.
- Distorted geometry.
- Crackling audio.
- Picture central on normal television but 2" to the left on teletext.
- E/W diodes are defective.
- Raster is blank, sound is missing and appliance remains in AV mode.
- Dark green pict. After adjusting G2 no more switching over or adjustment poss. Switch appliance off and on again. When attempting a CUT OFF RGB adjustment with +u- no reaction. Adjustment of vertical and horizontal deflection ok.
- No colour. intermittently.
- Dead. PSU overloaded.
- If IC650 (VCK2100A) on the Digi-board is defective numerous faults can occur.
- No picture synchronisation after start-up. Picture appears after 10 mins.
- No tuning. Channel display on .
- Volume adjustments jump. No continuous adjustment possible.
- Colout drops out. Picture becomes white. (3576 ITT repair tip)
- Lines in picture.
- At switch on line fault. After 2 mins. patterning occurs.
- Horizontal stripes by poor signals.
- Blows fuse. after start-up.
- Noise from EHT. No display .
- Corrupt text.
- Blank raster.
- Brightness varies. No TXT. (ITT - 3576 information)
- Poor colour. (3576 tip from ITT)
- Sound cracks when on hypersound.
- Bright picture. Flyback lines.
- Intermittent channel changes / intermittent no remote operation.
- No start-up. intermittently (when cold).
- There is sound but no picture. A visible raster is obtained only with the first anode voltage at maximum. This raster is covered with flyback lines and seems to have no vertical hold.
- Tripping (intermittently).
- Intermittently dead.
- Snow in picture with line jamming.
- In top section of picture, horizontal coloured lines such as flyback lines.
- On switch on, EHT rises, then falls.
- The digital board is not ok.
- Control unit does not react properly.
- Does not switch to standby. after a few hours.
- No functions. Whistling. (service info for ITT -3576)
- Picture shifted to the left. in TXT.
- No sound or very low sound.
- Sound bangs and brightness varies
- Peak brightness and flyback lines.
- BU fails.
- Sporadic drop-out of the medium range UHF channels.
- No sound or sound on one channel is missing.
- Picture is missing, sound and EHT are ok.
- Red picture, grey scale does not work.
- The black line appears at the top of the picture.
- Poor resolution. (3576 tip from ITT)
- Chirping.
- Distorted picture when cold. Line folds over occasionally. Sound disappears.
- Insufficient picture clarity. (ITT - 3576 information)
- Occasionally the appliance does not respond to the remote control. If the appliance has been switched off and back on it functions correctly.
- Due to defective identification in Secam reception only black and white picture or colour flecks.
- TXT info shifted.
- Picture has poor definition.
- Picture shifted vertically. at bottom.
- RCU signal occasionally locks out.
- Teletext is not in the middle of the picture.
- Intermittent colour.
- Lines in picture. at bottom (when cold).
- Dead.
- Occasionally some symbols are missing during TXT reception.
- Unstable picture. after warm-up.
- Line phase faults.
- There are vertical lines on band I. The lines appear stronger on the left hand side.
- Picture looks cloudy.
- Dark display. Dark screen. (3576 tips)
- Bright raster. No picture. Audio OK .
- Sound disturbances during HF playback. The sound breaking does not function. During AV playback there are no disturbances.
- Distorted sound, when volume at minimum. Ok when volume at maximum.
- Whistle, channels indicator lights momentarily, then electronic fuse operates.
- Fuses blown.
- Fuse FU701 (1A) in PSU fails intermittently
- White screen. Flyback lines.
- Green raster and flyback lines.
- Dead. Trips once at switch on.
- Crackling audio. at low volume.
- Enter service mode.
- No or intermittent start-up. Slow start-up.
- No start-up. Standby LED flashes .
- EHT comes up and then set goes dead, with no channel display.
- Coarse spots appear on red and blue then disappear after about 10 mins. (3576 tip from ITT)
- Tripping.
- Transistor BU5080A fails continuously.
- Repeated failure of diodes D540/D541 (horizontal end stage).
- In reception of mono TV channels, STEREO indication flashes or is lit up continuously. At switch on both indications light up for a moment and cracking and noise through both speakers.
- Noise in picture. Weak signal.
- Text flashing on 9's etc.
- Reduced horizontal size.
- Loud crackling in the speaker. Sound can scarcely be understood. Audio processor has already been replaced. Volume can be adjusted. If you activate the service switch sound is perfect.
- Vertical fault.
- No S-correction.
- The stored values of some or all the functions have altered.
- Shuts down.
- Oscillator unlocks when cold.
- Intermittent passage in black and white.
- Picture is folded down by approx 10cm at the top edge. (3576 tips)
- Weak contrast.
- Some letters or symbols in the TXT are flashing.
- No or poor colour.
- Goes to standby intermittently and spontaneously.
- Intermittent operation of electronic fuse.
