  • Line S2055 fails immediately. FBT has been changed, TDA8372 has been changed.
  • The picture is green and purple. No SECAM identification.
  • "S" distortion. Cannot be adjusted.
  • The appliance switches off after hours or days and goes to standby. After switching on again it switches off after an even shorter period of time.
  • No function, red LED lights up for a short time at switch on.
  • Bright picture. Flyback lines.
  • Trips. when cold. No or intermittent start-up. when cold.
  • Necessary modification when replacing oscillator part.
  • Flickering colours with Canal Plus.
  • Focus adjustment.
  • Dead at switch on. Standby OK.
  • Tearing visible especially with crosshatch pattern. Vertical lines.
  • The screen is black and the power supply whistles.
  • No synchronisation. intermittently.
  • PSU whistles. in standby.

  • Distorted picture. at top.
  • Line output stage U is 45V.

  • Hum in picture. Lines shifted on top.
  • After half-an-hour flashing lines appear on screen.
  • Vertical stripe in the left picture third. (ITT - 54325430 information)
  • Chirping.
  • Picture is small and pulses, brightness is low and the sound is variable.
  • Picture is horizontally highly distorted.
  • Does not find any channels.
  • Shuts down. after start-up.
  • Stuck in standby. LED is red .
  • Tuning of the sound is incorrect as one track is O/C.
  • Impossible to go into standard LL as the appliance remains locked in standard BG.
  • Purity fault and the sound hums. The positive temperature coefficient resistor has been changed. (ITT - 54325430 information)
  • No start-up.
  • Line shakes in the top part of the picture. V amplitude jumps.

  • Power supply goes into safety mode when coming out of standby.
  • Vertical jitter.
  • Does not start up from standby, cracking is audible and appliance switches OFF, standby LED switches off.

  • Appliance will not start up. IC701, D717 and C711 have already been changed. Appliance still won't start up.

  • Blank raster. Flyback lines.

  • Sometimes while watching a TV channel, TXT appears twisted, as if it had line tearing.
  • Encrypted Canal Plus after 1 hr.
  • Power supply BU908 blows occasionally at switch on, never during operation. (picture attached)
  • Intermittent line drive failure causing no picture but sound is OK.
  • Vertical lines on left side of screen, thiner towards edges and bigger towards centre, approx. 10 cm on screen. Lines tremble. Fault present also in AV mode with black screen. Switches off after a while.
  • Occasionally vertical picture jitter until total failure of the vertical deflection stage.

  • Dead. Whining.
  • Standby LED flickers for approx 10 secs. Switches off.
  • No vertical deflection, only a horizontal bright line. Sound OK.
  • No HV (intermittently).
  • Vertical IC fails at switch on.
  • LED flashes briefly at switch on, then appliance switches off.
  • Mains fuse blown and mains transistor T707 (BU908) s/c. (service info for ITT -54325430)
  • Stand-by LED does not function.
  • Starts up only after several attempts, fizzles for 10 secs, then OK.
  • Vertical size adjustment.
  • Occasionally, goes from top of picture to the green, hum in the speaker and dark bar. Goes from bottom to top.
  • Small, pulsating picture, low brightness, sound level varies.
  • Crackling audio. Lines in picture. on the left.
  • E/W fault. No E/W correction.
  • Picture wavering at top.
  • No start-up (when cold). Standby LED flashes . PSU pulsates.
  • Does not start. PSU starts up briefly, then protective circuit is active.
  • Time base whistles and goes into safety mode. Fault persists when FBT has been changed. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Vertical IC burnt.
  • Very distorted picture with very strong vertical waves and picture almost black and white. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No start-up. Standby LED flashes . (54325430 tips)
  • Hum on sound and picture. Capacitor on mains rectifier has been changed. 12V and 16V on IC521 are too low. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Horizontal sync error. Spund appears only when horizontal is synchronized. Can be adjusted with pot, but fails again when switching channel.
  • After changing the deflection transistor BU 508 it blows again after 1-2 days. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Pincushion distortion.
  • Horizontal centre adjustment.
  • At switch on, stand by display lights up for a short time, line end stage attempts to work, but switches off again straight away.
  • When in standby appliance hums or crackles. LED pulses.
  • Shuts down. Standby LED does not light.
  • Picture becomes quite dark and gets distorted after 20 or 30 minutes.
  • Stripes in picture. on the right.
  • Switches on. Pulsates 3 times, then switches off.
  • Black screen.
  • No sound or picture channel change indicator o.k.
  • Stuck in standby. LED flashes once and goes OFF. (service info for ITT -54325430)
  • During operation switches over by itself to other channels.
  • Switches off and goes to standby after hours or days. After switching back on, the appliance switches off again after 30 mins. After that, in even shorter time. (ITT - 54325430 information)
  • No audio.
  • Blank raster noise appears when aerial is unplugged.
  • Carries out unwanted operating steps eg. switches off, switches over channel, changes volume etc.
  • IC401 (TDA3654) fails.
  • Twisted picture when switching on from cold.
  • No picture and no sound. Image distorted.
  • Vertical lines on right of picture. First line is blue. (picture attached)
  • Enable Hotel mode. Disable hotel mode.
  • Does not start when cold. Only chatters. Appliance runs when warm.
  • White spot when switching TV off.

  • No start-up (intermittently).
  • Line output transformer is defective.
  • Repeat failure of the STR58041.
  • Defective mains fuse. Functions OK for two weeks after replacement.
  • No RC functions. No front panel function.

  • Goes on and off again for a short time.
  • E/W pinch and picture is folded up vertically at bottom.
  • Occasionally the PSU does not start up. If it does, the appliance is ok. (PSU on the right with STK54041).
  • 24V when disconnecting collector of line transistor, otherwise voltage collapses. Line transformer does not start up. 5V on IC721. Display does not light up, standby lights up. (+ extract of circuit diagram)

  • No picture.
  • No green.
  • Ballooning.
  • Power supply does not function.

  • Switches off by itself after a while. Vertical lines on picture right side of approx 10 cm. Jamming in AV mode.
  • The station storage breaks down completely, when connected to cable, all the programmes are mixed up. The contrast control is defective and the remote control does not work. (picture attached) (ITT - 54325430 information)
  • Vertical collapse.
  • Reduced vertical and horizontal size.
  • No functions.
  • The lower half of the picture does not exist.
  • Station memory cuts out intermittently, especially when connecting the cable the stations fall out. Then the contrast adjustment gets defective and the appliance doesn't respond to the RC.
  • No picture. Audio OK .
  • No video or standard switching.
  • Intermittent no video or front display.

  • Set dead or intermittently dead. Set may not go to standby via remote.
  • The side of the picture drops and a horizontal line appears. Only a third of the line end stage works. The sound is missing, but the power supply unit operates.
  • Operating voltage adjustment (power supply board).

  • Switches off after a few secs. with a whistling sound.
  • Black adjustment, white adjustment.

  • R702 fails at once if the aerial cable is plugged in (cable connection).
  • Power supply. When rebuilding this supply, it is possible that R512 may have failed.
  • The appliance remains in standby and the LED remains lit up.
  • Horizontal frequency adjustment.
  • Horizontal size adjustment.
  • Intermittent colour bands at high contrast.
  • The screen is black and the appliance is in safety mode. There is a white horizontal line across the screen. (picture attached)
  • Set dead. R502 is in open circuit but at switch on there is a bright flash and the plug fuse goes open circuit.
  • PSU attempts to start with noise. After 3-4 secs it stops and LED indicator goes off.
  • Switches off intermittently, comes then back.
  • Appliance is dead. Sometimes starts if turned on and off several times.
  • No start-up. No LED. Standby OK.
  • No memory.
  • No red.
  • Stretched picture.
  • Picture vibrates slightly for approx. 1 min.
  • Picture becomes snowy and image offset after approx 20 minutes of operation.
  • PSU doesn't start up. Pulsates.

  • Set dead. Trys to come on but trips rapidly then cuts off. (ITT - 54325430 information)
  • Picture flickers horizontally.
  • Standby LED switches off after start-up. Dead.
  • Switches to protection mode.
  • Excessive horizontal size.
  • Picture pulls inwards at the top

  • Image jitter in upper part when turning on. Disappears after a short while.
  • Dead, channel lights OK.

  • Colour is uncontrollable.
  • Does not start up. LED comes on then goes off immediately.
  • No start up, stuck in standby. Red LED switches off when trying to start up.
  • Erratic start-up.
  • Small picture with hour glass effect.
  • Stuck in standby. Attempts to start up, LED flashes one time and turns off.
  • No colour.
  • When switching from AV input to any pretuned channel, no horizontal sync, but shortly after picture synchonizes correctly.
  • No picture and sound. Buzzing sound at switch on. Standby LED is blinking, then go to standby.

  • G2 is too high, if attempting to decrease, picture is visible for a few secs then becomes dark.
