CT2501 / KITON [TV]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for CT2501 / KITON.
List of fault symptoms:
- Low pulsing power.
- Blank screen. intermittently. (CT2501 tip from KITON)
- Low general saturation level - CRT base.
- Low brightness.
- Relay trips.
- Black lines on frame with noisy frame drive.
- Intermittent standby.
- Chopper FET Q801 blown.
- Bright coloured raster, one colour.
- PSU pulsates.
- Field shifts up.
- TXT.
- Enter service mode.
- No E/W correction.
- One channel missing, probably NICAM.
- Blank screen. after a while.
- Not coming out of AV. Software switches, but line to IC401 stays high.
- Picture pumps when warm or when switch channels. (CT2501 tip from KITON)
- Partial field collapse.
- Too much of one colour, drive control makes CRT saturate in that colour.
- HI one colour.
- Reduced vertical size at bottom.
- Video, audio I.F.
- Snow in picture.
- Horizontal lines on still picture.
- Goes to standby after a short period. Removing NICAM PCB stops effect, but no TXT.
- Flyback lines.
- No RC functions.
- No menu functions.
- No video. Stuck in AV. OSD OK.
- Power supply. (service info for KITON -CT2501)
- One colour missing.
- IF jungle.
- Fuse F801 in PSU blown.
- Reduced vertical size. Poor linearity. on upper half screen.
- No red.
- Erratic operation. Intermittently switches to standby. Corrupt OSD.
- Picture shifted upwards, no change in linearity.
- Frame cramped, foldover bright at centre and curving in from horizontal edges.
- No functions.
- Trips.
- Bottom cramped (varying lower linearity).
- Reduced vertical size at top.
- CRT base, auto greyscale.
- Middle field cramped.
- Takes time for picture to come on.
- Intermittent or no colour. (KITON - CT2501 information)
- PSU transistor fails after start-up.
- No colour.
- Dead. after lightning strike.
- No audio. No picture. Standby LED lit .
- No picture (intermittently).
- Transistor Q801 is S/C. IC801 defective.
- Display shows all channels locked. (CT2501 KITON repair tip)
- Top severely cramped (bottom reasonable).
- No line drive.
- One colour missing or excessive.
- Programs are LOCKED.
- Microcontroller.
- Shows time-out clock and will not stop search tuning.
- No TXT.
- Low level mono sound, NICAM OK.
- Stuck in standby.
- TV switches off after a short time. LED display is red or completely off.
- Mains input fuse blows (OF1).
- No picture, only OSD (green). Audio OK.
- Top stretched. Line pairing.
- Lines in picture. in the centre.
- First anode supply low.
- Picture comes in only after 20 mins after start-up and it's dim.
- Noisy picture. Low gain.
- Searches for channels continuously.
- Low or varying brightness.
- No picture. No OSD.
- Nicam and signal conditioning chips.
- Only 1" field scan in centre of screen.
- Grainy picture.
- Excessive red.
- Goes to standby when VOL +/- is selected. Otherwise OK.
- Vertical foldover at top.
- Apparent arcing noise from speaker.
- Bright horizontal bar.
- Horizontal line. at top.
- Vertical size varies. intermittently.
- Vertical jitter.
- Excessive blue.
- Slow tripping with HT. (CT2501 tips)
- NICAM/ZWEITON.
- PSU pulsates and makes noises in standby.
- Goes back to standby, after approx 5 secs, LED turns green and goes out slowly.
- Distorted audio.
- One colour missing, after CRT flashover.
- No green.
- No blue.
- Reduced horizontal size. at top.
- Doubled image and picture oscillates. Vertical and horizontal lines in picture.
- Varying heights.
- No RC. Volume turned off.
- Mains FET fails again immediately.
- Slow tripping without HT, (CT2501 tip from KITON)
- Tuning locks then shutsdown. (KITON - CT2501 information)
- Line pairing at top, linearity pulled out.
- Stuck in standby, comes out, but immediately goes back to standby. LED flashes and sound may motorboat.
- Vertical line. on upper half screen.
- Picture shifted vertically. at top.
- Vertical size varies.
- Vertical collapse.
- Synchronisation problems in TXT.
- Defective BUZ77B. (CT2501 tips)
- Bright picture. Flyback lines. No vertical deflection (intermittently).
- Customer has forgotten the PIN code and install menu is locked.
- Stuck in standby. Standby LED lit .
- Standby warm.
- No picture or very dark.
- Field middle cramped. (CT2501 tip from KITON)
- Pumping noises from the loudspeaker at switch on from standby.
- No vertical deflection.
- Vertical collapse. at bottom.
- Vertical line visible in left third of screen especially with dark pictures. (CT2501 tips)
- BUZ in PSU fails immediately after start-up.
- No picture. after warm-up.
- Excessive green.
- Power supply tripping, no raster maybe motorboating in speaker.
- Black screen.
- PSU error.
- No audio (intermittently).
- Stuck in standby. LED blinks .
- Does not store channels or analog levels. Will store on Channel 1, but all data is also on other channels. No TXT or NICAM.
- Dead.
- One OSD colour missing. After CRT flash over.
- Poor or no sync. If line locks, no frame sync.
- Low output, HT 83V.
- Dead. Smoking.
- Display show locked. When unlocking, lock can change, when addressing. Not toggling.
- Low gain noisy picture, AGC preset works, but not setting properly.
- Protection mode activated.
- No video, OSD OK, stuck in AV mode.
- Power supply transistor blows immediately at switch on.
- Foldover at top/bottom cramped.
- No picture.
- Tripping.
- Tilted interferences. Lines in picture via tuner and AV, depending on brightness. (CT2501 tip from KITON)
- Q801 defective.
- Audio stages.
- No audio. Pulsing in speaker.
- Poor power supply. Appliance remains in standby. (KITON - CT2501 information)
- PSU fails.
- No luminance. intermittently.
- Vertical fault. on upper half screen.
- No tuning.
- Display locked.
- Transformer TR801 and fuse F801 fail repeatedly.
