65VR60 / MEDIATOR [Video recorder]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for 65VR60 / MEDIATOR.
List of fault symptoms:
- No picture in EE and PB. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Distorted picture in REC and PB. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Picture goes into raster in E/E.
- Random functions due to static charges.
- Problems with the carrier wheel. (picture attached)

- Colour flickers during EE, REC, and PB.
- Dead. BU OK. TEA OK.
- Intermittently resets, dim display.

- When playing noise on the bottom of the picture (+/-10cm).

- No start up of PSU, no clock display.

- PSU is defective and display flashes.
- In PB, lacing up and unlacing there is a crackling noise.

- Cassette compartment will not lower and is loose. Motor seems to be running the wrong direction.
- VCR does not switch on or only switches on after some time.

- Picture is only half there and noise. Sometimes picture is present. One head is missing.
- Power supply does not start up. TEA 1039 and CNX62 have already been replaced. Same signal on the input electrolytic and on the BU collector.
- Power supply blocks at switch on.

- Cassette eject does not work.
- The cassette compartment remains in the up position.
- Cassette compartment lowers and comes out when different tape functions are pressed. Appliance goes into standby.
- No reception.

- Drum starts to turn at high speed and does not switch off at stop.
- Vertical lines and snow. Poor playback, even with a good recording.
- Goes from play to stop after an hour or so, just before it stops a scraping noise can be heard then the capstan ceases to operate.

- Sound hums during set-up, picture can also be distorted, VCR does not function when the tape function button is pressed. (picture attached)
- No set up signal and tape start- and end switching off does not function.

- Mostly during forward search, the tape spills out.
- Laces up but capstan motor does not start up.

- Picture jumps in speed up and picture pause.

- Picture runs through in REC.

- Picture record defects.

- The tape is loaded and the drum turns. Playback lasts for 10 seconds, then the appliance stops and goes into standby.

- Does not lace up, sensor lever sticks on the transport ring.
