N3211 / NAIKO [TV]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for N3211 / NAIKO.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Shuts down. after start-up. No vertical deflection.
  • Line tearing.
  • Image white and with flyback lines and then horizontal pulsating.
  • Smoking.
  • Squealing about once a second.
  • Fails after start-up.
  • Frame has shifted downwards approx 1".
  • Switches on. Raster appears and switches to standby after 2-3 secs.
  • No picture , only lines, via AV socket.
  • No start-up.
  • Dead. Standby LED does not light.
  • White screen. Flyback lines.
  • Interference in picture. (NAIKO - N3211 information)
  • Stuck in standby. Green LED fades out when switched on.
  • Tripping.
  • No horizontal or SDA/SCL pulses after 10 seconds.
  • Reduced horizontal size. Foldover in centre of picture.
  • Blank raster.
  • No functions.
  • Dead. Power LED is red.
  • No picture. intermittently. Audio OK .
  • No picture. via SCART.
  • No E/W correction. Cannot be adjusted in the service menu.
  • Peeping sound.
  • Dead. LED is red .
  • No tuning.
  • No audio. via SCART.
  • Excessive horizontal size. No E/W correction.
  • Excessive horizontal size. after a few hours.
  • No functions. after lightning strike.
  • Power supply hiccups, LED flashing.
  • No function, only standby LED is red.
  • No start-up from standby.
  • RV38 value.
  • Installation menu.
  • Dead with a slight squealing sound, which gets louder.
  • Torn picture. Vertical foldover. depending on picture content.
  • Smearing in picture.
  • Dead.
  • Black band on picture with tearing effect. Intermittently picture flutters on bright scenes. Arcing noise. (N3211 tips)
  • No start-up (intermittently).
  • Switches to standby. after a while.
  • Excessive brightness. Flyback lines. Audio OK .
  • Brightness and contrast vary about 10mins, then picture flashing then goes out. Remains green raster and intermittently retrace lines.
  • No channel storing. only on certain channels. (N3211 tips)
  • Flickering picture. Audio OK .
  • No colour.
  • Bright white raster with flyback lines after start up, then goes to standby.
  • All channels up to CH51 are tuned, otherwise no function.
  • After 10mins. picture flashes and cuts out.
  • Mains switch does not lock.
  • Noise in picture.
  • Focus cannot be set well. It takes a long time before picture appears.
  • Flashing picture. after a few minutes.
  • Changing sound to UK standard (6MHz).
  • No E/W correction.
  • Shuts down. intermittently. PSU pulsates.
  • Stuck in standby.
  • Blows fuse.
  • Bright raster. Retrace lines.
  • Reduced vertical and horizontal size.
  • Motorboating noise in audio.
  • Switches off by itself. after start-up.
  • Low voltages.

  • Flyback lines.
  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
  • Bright white picture.
  • E/W fault.
  • Continuously blinking red LED.

  • Comes on for a short time. Burning smell.
  • No start-up. LED is red .
  • Doesn't read DVD's.
  • Poor synchronisation.
  • Enable child lock.
  • Shuts down. after start-up.
  • Starts up twice then dead.
  • Switches off by itself.
  • Bright picture.
  • Cycles on/off.

  • Horizontal linearity fault.

  • Reduced horizontal size. E/W distortion.
  • Picture is only red or green or blue with flyback lines.

  • Fuse FP01 has blown
  • Switches to protection mode.
  • No function, red LED is on, sometimes only faint noise from PSU.
  • Drops out.
  • Dead. Standby LED flashes . (N3211 NAIKO repair tip)
  • At switch on LEDs flash. Set dead when current is switched on. Stays in standby mode.
  • Protection mode activated. LED blinks .
  • Stuck in standby. when cold.
  • Horizontal collapse.
  • No switch on. Ticking from loudspeaker.
  • No picture. No audio.
  • No picture. Bright raster. Flyback lines.
  • First no colours/interference, then no function.
  • No horizontal deflection.
  • Vertical collapse.
  • Blows fuse. at start-up.
  • Picture fails intermittently, line tearing in part and sound disturbs.
  • No picture. after a while.
  • No start-up after switched off from RC. Noise from PSU in standby.
  • No picture. after a few minutes. Audio OK .
  • Noise and whistle from the SOPS trafo.
  • Disable child lock. (N3211 tips)
  • Switches to protection mode. LED flashes repeatedly twice.
  • Cannot be switched on from standby. Switches by itself to standby or sound mutes.
  • Picture shifted horizontally. Horizontal foldover.
  • Sawtooth pattern when cold. Best visible in 4:3 mode. OK after a few minutes.
  • Reduced horizontal size. No E/W correction.
  • Horizontal line.
  • No synchronisation. OSD and TXT OK .
  • No picture. Audio OK .
  • Squealing from PSU.
  • FBT flashover.
  • Switches off by itself. intermittently. (N3211 tips)
  • No line drive.
  • Flickering picture. intermittently. (NAIKO - N3211 information)
  • Reduced vertical deflection.
  • Trips.
  • Enter service mode.
  • Protective circuit starts up, if appliance is switched on again when warm. Red LED blinks. (N3211 tips)
  • Trips (after start-up).
  • Starts up three times then switches off.
  • Beep after start-up.
  • No colour and ragged verticals.
  • Resistors RD06 and RD17 burnt.
  • PSU chirps every second after switch on, LED blinks. No other function.
  • Tries to start 2 times then switches to standby.
  • Lines across screen then set displays a bright white raster and turned itself OFF. When switching ON again it just trips.
  • No power up. PSU whistles every second.
  • Blank raster. Retrace lines. Audio OK .
  • No function. PSU ticks.
  • Switches to standby (after start-up).
  • PSU pulsates. LED flickers .
  • Picture increases gradually. Linearity error and stripes in upper picture area.
