CTV2113 / NETWORK [TV 51 (47/48) cm picture]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for CTV2113 / NETWORK.
List of fault symptoms:
- Switches to protection mode. intermittently. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Low audio.
- Hesitant start up. Mains button must be pressed several times. If appliance runs, fails again most of the time after a few mins.
- Systematic failure of TL54. At switch on TEA2026 has been changed.
- Sound purrs when tuning, picture is correct. Sound is possibly correct but picture disappears. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- Ghosting effect.
- BU807 (TL54) cuts out.
- Crackling in sound and picture in UHF and VHF. No sound in scart.
- Interference lines in the top part of the screen.
- Focus pot is defective. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- The channels unkey after a while.
- No picture, no sound and programme display does not light up.
- RP02 and power supply BU blow.
- TL54/TP32 are destroyed.
- RP02 burns at switch on and destroys TP32 S2000A1.
- S2000 is s/c. Replaced with the original repair set, it still fails. (with circuit diagram extract)
- No picture content, rainbow colours at upper edge. U4 (17,5V) is too high, voltage at thyristor anode too high (approx 30V). At pin 4 of IC03 (TEA2026C) voltage is too high, instead of (2,8V approx. 7V).
- No brightness on picture. Chroma present with vertical instability and no sound.
- On channels from 21 to 27 picture is ok, from 32 to 35 lines on picture and from 41 to 47 no picture.
- Vertical amplitude is too low.
- Poor startup.
- The picture blows up and the bottom of the screen is bright.
- Picture is dark or partially ther.
- No start-up (intermittently). (picture attached)
- Cannot be switched on or switched to standby. Standby indicator does not light up.
- The power supply does not start up. No standby
- Standard CCETT adaptation.
- Switches off intermittently or does not switch on at all.
- No horizontal deflection. intermittently. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- Switches to protection mode. after start-up. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- After a few days the TV fails. RP11, TP32 and TP38 are defective. The 925TX1283 unit has been replaced: TP32, TP38, CV16, DP33, DP41, DL62, DL64, QL11, CP31, DP32, DP38.
- Snow in picture. in UHF.
- PSU does not always start after switch on via front control or RC.
- Poor picture alignment.
- Cannot be switched on or switched to standby. Standby indicator does not light up.
- Reluctant to start then produces a picture with reduced width. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- Poor line synchronisation. Picture is shifted up. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- No display. Appliance starts.
- Reduced horizontal size. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Dark picture. after a few minutes.
- The appliance switches off for a short time and back on again. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Loud audio. (service info for NETWORK -CTV2113)
- The linearity coil whistles.
- Very snowy picture in UHF. Apparently the fault is at the level of the tuner UHF 4200. (CTV2113 tips)
- Standby light flashes, fuse blows. RP11 and TP32, BU508 fails.
- Picture flickers slightly from bottom to top. After removing display indication (control unit) picture is ok (less

- Horizontal collapse.
- No picture, no sound - PSU is switched off.
- Starts up after 3 mins.
- No videotext mode.
- Adjusting the white setting. (CTV2113 tips)
- No colour (intermittently). Line tearing.
- DP51 s/c after operating for half an hour.
- Excessive brightness.
- No UHF channels.
- No picture. Flyback lines. at top. Audio OK .
- No functions. Standby LED is not visible.
- Excessive vertical size.
- Standby indicator flashes.
- Shade appears behind the picture.
- Adjustment of 5.5MHz min. or 4.43MHz min.
- Picture hum and picture is slightly brighter at the top and bottom. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- No light and the appliance cuts out.
- No scanning. Display ok.
- No video or scanning. Channels are displayed.
- Coloured flyback lines and poor picture. (CTV2113 tips)
- No horizontal deflection.
- Wide dark stripes on left side of picture.
- U1 = 60V instead of 90V.
- Power supply stops occasionally, approx after 1/2 hour (very irregular).
- TL19 fails in line output stage.
- Noisy sound or no sound at all.
- Picture is bright and white with flyback lines. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Can not be switched on from standby via RC.
- The varicap voltage does not move. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Spots of colour on the screen.
- Blank screen.
- In normal charge, TP32 and TP38 switch off. The appliance functions without a charge.
- No TXT.
- Does not switch on. No standby.
- The power supply is destroyed.
- No erasing possible.
- No vertical deflection. intermittently. No audio. intermittently.
- Vertical IC blows repeatedly after a few days. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- Muted audio.
- Reduced vertical size.
- Vertical deflection has collapsed to a bright line in the middle of the screen.
- Negative picture. Distorted picture. OK via SCART .
- Vertical line. in the centre.
- Secondary protective circuits TV01 and TV02 disconnect intermittently.
- The appliance hums and the picture is unstable.
- Unstable luminance when the appliance is warm.
- Both vertical and horizontal synchronization instability.
- The fuse blows because RP02 heats up.
- TL54 (BU807) becomes very hot after a few mins and blows. Normal picture.
- No command signal on the IL03.
- E/W fault.
- No function display. CTV functions via the front panel and the RCU.
- Vertical blue bar on centre of screen. No picture.
- No picture. No audio. No channel display. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- FBT ok at start up but dark screen except for 3 coloured lines in top third of screen. Sound and display of channels ok.
- Poor vertical and horizontal amplitude with slight waving at sides, when cold. Everything returns to normal within 5 mins.
- Horizontal deflection is missing. Protective circuit disconnects. Standby point flashes.
- Vertical foldover at bottom.
- No secondary voltage.
- Sound to zero level. When volume is increased, sound goes back to zero level. Random channel switch-over.
- TP32 in the PSU is s/c.
- Unstable lines and there is an interference line at the base of TP32.
- DP51 heats up.
- The appliance goes to safety mode and mute.
- Display ok, 90V, 13V and 22V are ok. Output 10 of TEA2026 to the line driver and the wave peaks are not in the correct frequency. IC and quartz have been changed.
- After switch on, vertical centering is shifted intermittently upwards approx. 2 cm; it goes to normal position after approx. 10 minutes.
- No vertical synchronisation.
- When switching on BU508A and RP11 fail after 2 secs. (CTV2113 tips)
- No reception at band I, or image flickering only. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Dark screen.
- 90V problem. RP51 heats up and cuts out. DP51 and CP51 ok. Brand new line transformer.
- Volume varies.
- No brightness (only outlines can be recognised). Colour is ok. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Black picture with 10cm of RGB horizontal lines over the whole screen.
- Channels below 30 cannot be received (chassis ICC4).
- No start-up. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Distorted picture. Strong streaking.
- No picture. after a few minutes. Audio OK .
- TP32 and TP38 have a short circuit. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- Picture flickers and stripes in the picture.
- PSU does not start up with a mains voltage more than 200V, ok with a voltage less than or equal to 200V.
- Normal in black and white. In chroma, red of picture is green, blue is red and green is blue.
- The appliance takes 2-3 minutes to start up.
- Voltages from FBT gradually decrease then line BU S2000 blows after operating for 15 mins.
- Picture appears slowly.
- The blue circuit is pale.
- When cold, no sound and no line amplitude then finally starts up.
- Screen blank. Dark picture.
- Tripping.
- Black band at bottom of screen over approx 8cm. Picture has shifted to the top. (CTV2113 tips)
- Searches for channels continuously.
- Horizontal stripe (intermittently).
- Purity spot and scanning are incorrect. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- No start-up. No display.
- Black screen. Display is lit. Intermittent sound. Fault occurs both via aerial and SCART. (service info for NETWORK -CTV2113)
- Line stage does not start up.
- Adjusting the screen grid voltage (grey setting).
- No picture. Fusible resistor RP47 (0R22) in U2 13V-rail blows repeatedly.
- No adjustment.
- Too much contrast, cannot be adjusted to less. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Power supply fuse blows. When it has been replaced, TV functions again for several days.
- Slow start-up.
- No U system.
- No vertical deflection.
- Faint blue picture with no picture content and flyback lines. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Switches to standby. after a few minutes.
- When appliance is switched on mains BU fails immediately.
- U7 = 15V and there is no 12V voltage. A black band appears on the screen.
- Sound and picture cut out, display for 30 secs.
- No high channels can be requested.
- Loss of sync/raster/sound. Display goes off. (CTV2113 tips)
- Contrast average value is too high.
- No sensitivity in the tuning.
- PSU repair tip.
- Vertical lines at edge during EE operation and via AV. (picture attached)
- Screen blank, only RF-noise. No 0,5-30V tuning voltage at RT11. The three band switch transistors are conductive. Error may also occur only sometimes.
- No channel search.
- Vertical bar.
- At start up no line scanning or raster, TV displays PR. After approx 30 mins TV starts up.
- Vertical line. (CTV2113 tips)
- Power supply kit has been changed, has been working for 2 days and TP32 s/c, RP11 o/c, TL54 s/c, DL66 s/c, etc. Everything has been replaced, then no U1, U2, U3, U7, power supply transformer OK.
- 300V on the collector of TP32. Oscillates at its base but no voltage on the secondary.
- The line framing is incorrect.
- Fails frequently when operating.
- Only switches on occasionally, but without picture and sound. Occasionally very high switch on current consumption.
- High contrast.
- Noise on channel 09 (band I) - colour picture. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Volume uncontrollable.
- Image noise in upper channels (e.g. channel 60, 99) only. (picture attached)
- PSU fails immediately after switch on.
- Picture shifted vertically.
- No reception on band I, or only picture flickering.
- PSU is defective, after replacing the protection resistor RP11 and transistor TP32 (BU508) there is still a s/c ie. after switching on appliance there is another complete s/c of the BU 508A straight away.
- No picture in UHF, voltage for band change and tuning is OK.
- Channel storage is erased.
- When switching into standby mode from the remote control the appliance switches off the sound and colour. This effect also occurs with a Condor appliance.
- Only switches on after 70 secs. After start up everything is ok. (CTV2113 tips)
- Display appears after 15 secs, then pulsates on and off (no breaker circuit). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Poor reception. in VHF.
- RP51 (0R22) blows intermittently.
- The appliance blows up on a very light background.
- The picture shifts towards the bottom of the screen.
- Picture is pulled at the top. Poor line sync. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- TP32 fails at switch on. (picture attached)
- Tube lights up as if G2 is at max (as if blocked in video). The same if an oscilloscope is put into scart. Sound and scanning ok.
- Slight hum of vertical bars.
- Switched-mode power supply (SMPS) does not start up. (+ extract of circuit diagram) (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- Station tuning disappears.
- When warm flickers between picture and TXT. Characters keep popping up on screen
- No luminance.
- No system adjustment. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- No picture or sound. At switch on display indicates a channel but no control is possible.
- No brightness. Three RGB colour bands on left and right of the screen.
- Snow, no voltage on Varicap.
- Fuse blows at random, even at switch off.
- BU807 blows regularly. FBT and TEA2026 have been changed.
- Secondary protective circuit TV01 and TV02 disconnects intermittently.
- Intermittent loss of sync. Blank raster. No audio. No LEDs. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- TEA 2026C is defective.
- U1 is instead of 84-90V only approx. 60V. Current consumption is over 100W.
- No display. TV functions well. Channel change over ok.
- Poor contacts.
- No start-up from standby with RC.
- The power supply does not function with load.
- No search possible. TV switches off without the 10th, 20th and 30th channel.
- Line BU (BU508) becomes hot and blows. At base of BU there are double pulses.
- Appliance goes into PAL. Occasionally no display.
- Top part of the picture is too wide and bottom part is too narrow
- No RC functions.
- Image compressed horizontally. Insufficient width approx 1cm on left and right of screen. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Power supply fault. TP37 and TP32 have a short circuit and occasionally TP38.
- The power supply does not start up. All transistors have been changed.
- Picture predominantly red in SECAM. Ok in PAL via scart.
- Starts to pulsates. Sound, picture and display present.
- No functions. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- White, bright picture, picture poorly distinguishable.
- Black band on one part of the screen and interference.
- Line instability.
- No start function via RC. With mains switch appliance switches into standby. (picture attached)
- TP32 heats up.
- Lacks horizontal amplitude. Regulation does not function. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- Channels from 21 to 32 come through well but with lines and nothing comes through from 41 to 53.
- General information.
- Mains switch no start up. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- No picture. Sound and display are OK.
- Adjusting Us= 108V. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- The appliance crackles during low Gamme UHF.
- The appliance pulsates 3 times then goes to safety mode.
- U Varicap = 20V and will not change.
- Rainbow effect in the centre.
- No image, red raster and flyback lines visible. (picture attached)
- No switch on. Standby power supply ok. Standby indicator lights up.
- Dark picture.
- Picture is dark. When Ug2 is completely there, a bit of the picture is present.
- IL03 (TEA2026) blows up when the appliance goes into AV on TV 42cm.
- RL41 O/C due to dry joints below connector BD01.
- Setting the vertical amplitude. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Power supply breakdown due to a volt-rise of the power supply kit.
- Is it possible to fit a TEA 2026C in place of a TEA 2026T ?
- Vertical lines on edge in EE-mode and via AV.
- Programmes memory is lost once a month.
- No tuning.
- R82 (10R) on the tube base board fails.
- Focus adjustment.
- Vertical picture position shifts intermittently upwards approx 2 cm after switch on. It is OK after approx 10 mins.
- PSU inoperative.
- The luminance signal disappears occasionally.
- Does not start up. Standby LED switches off.
- Low hum of vertical lines. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Contrast and colour are excessive at preset condition.
- Standby LED flashes.
- Horizontal deflection and line oscillator failed. (picture attached)
- PAL run time decoder adjustment - PAL decoder.
- Approx one third of the top of the picture is crushed. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Does not start up when cold. Audio , display OK.
- RP61 burns out. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- No start up. PSU blocked.
- Flyback lines. No brightness. No contrast. (CTV2113 tips)
- Start up ok. Picture and sound ok. After 15 minutes or more than one hour no picture but son ok. Horizontal white line.
- The display is incorrect and PE appears.
- Power supply, fuses, BUs, etc, blow each time appliance is switched off by ON/OFF switch.
- Power supply fails at less than 100V.
- Picture appears slowly. Display OK . (CTV2113 tips)
- No colour, picture streaking.
- No picture. Check the signal on pin 10 of IT20. (CTV2113 tip from NETWORK)
- Switches to standby after 6 or 7 minutes with or without aerial signal.
- Sound is always at max even if appliance displays volume with 00.
- Vertical collapse (intermittently).
- At switch on when cold picture is reduced in height and width of the screen. After heating up for some time scanning becomes normal. Fault is no longer visible. You must wait until TV has cooled down sufficiently.
- Poor display.
- Line stage does not start up.
- Switches to standby (intermittently). (service info for NETWORK -CTV2113)
- The colour appears after a few minutes.
- On start up, black interference lines appear then the screen is white.
- Dark screen, 5 or 6 coloured lines at the top of the screen. Picture returns if appliance is hit.
- Power supply defective.
- No picture on channel 99.
- TP32 (BU508) and TL37 (BU508) fail immediately after switch on. (picture attached)
- Appliance does not function with the mains switch then starts up again with another button.
- Transistor BU508 fails repeatedly.
- Line output stage doesn't start up.
- Deprogrammes approx every 4 to 5 months.
- No 300V at collector of TP32. If collector is disconnected 300V appear.
- Replacement kit of thyristor ESM740/G1/G2.
- No start up. PSU whistles even when secondary side disconnected.
- Switches to protection mode.
- Switches to standby. after a while.
- The sound and picture hum.
- The picture is delayed by a few minutes. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- No transmission in UHF (12V on pin 10 of the tuner connector).
- Power supply BU S2000 (BU508AT, BU508AF) S/C.
- Dark screen. on the left.
- Poor vertical synchronisation.
- Intermittent loss of sync, a blank raster, no sound, switching to standby and the LED channel display going off.
- No start-up. Display OK .
- Dead.
- Line oscillating or tearing.
- Horizontal centre adjustment.
- TP32 (BU508) becomes defective after appliance turned ON/OFF several times. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- No horizontal or vertical deflection.
- Fuse blows constantly.
- TP29 fails after switch on.
- Vertical lines are distorted horizontally. E/W equalizer can not be adjusted correctly.
- The appliance crackles and the picture framing is incorrect.
- Excessive green.
- RP11 blows. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)

- RP23 and transistor (BU508A) have blown.
- Intermittent loss of synchronization.
- TP29 fails after start-up.
- Coloured tinge in picture.
- No 90V, RP51 burns. BU807, BU508.
- No colour. No shutdown with RC.
- No picture. Vertical coloured lines. Raster problem.
- Picture too small. at start-up. (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- The picture is blurred (spot at the bottom of the screen).
- Poor vertical synchronisation. Picture shifted vertically. at top. (picture attached)
- TP01 (BUT12A) fails after longer operating time
- Phase comparator fault on TV. Ok on secondary.
- Power supply fault.
- No function, standby point is not visible.
- PSU fails after start-up.
- TL19 fails in line ouptut stage.
- No picture. No sound. Programs can also be switched over.
- At start up 90V makes 12V. After 2 mins picture and sound present but 90V reaches a maximum at 85V.
- Does not come on from standby, red standby light comes on. TV01 and TV02 in the protective circuit respond.
- After changing the battery, how do you adjust the channels without remote control IR?
- The PSU fails instantly. When this is replaced by the repair kit the same problem arises.
- Contrast and brightness cannot be adjusted properly. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Bright picture. at top and bottom.
- Does not start up. Only displays the channel number. Power supply kit has been replaced.
- Picture spraying on band I (heat dependent at DP51). (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Picture width fault.
- There are 1300V present instead of 900V peak to peak on the collector of the TL37 (BU508ATB). This breaks after some time.
- Goes into standby every quarter of an hour or half an hour.
- When warm picture lifts from the bottom and narrows at the top, black lines at the bottom of the screen.
- No reception. via tuner.
- No start up. can be switched on after some time in standby. Sound OK.
- Fuse blows as soon as degaussing is connected. (CTV2113 NETWORK repair tip)
- Crackling in sound and picture in UHF and VHF. No sound via scart.
- Stations appear and disappear. Horizontal lines in picture.
- Tuning voltage drifts.
- Does not memorise channel tuning. Display shows channel when TV tunes onto a programme. 'Ch' appears on display when pressing 'S' and channel number reappears.
- No colour.Flag-effect.
- Vertical centre adjustment.
- Reference oscillator beat adjustment: PAL decoder.
- IR receiver does not function.
- Displays PR and does not start (NETWORK - CTV2113 information)
- The 108V voltage varies (U-system).
- No image content, only HF noise. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- The power supply is correct without a load (U1 is up). There is a complete stop in the load.
- Standby flickers.
- After switching on the mains progamme indication in the display but no picture and no sound. (+ extract of circuit diagram) (CTV2113 tips)
- No speacial channels. Appliance works only up to channel 69. Display for brightness shows L (= English mode) instead of B.
- Insufficient picture width, poor lines visible on screen
