1401 / NIKKAI [TV 36/37 (34-36) cm picture]

supplies the following faults for 1401 / NIKKAI.
List of fault symptoms:

- Horizontal centre adjustment.

- Picture is grainy and sound noisy.
- Field sync is missing.
- No vertical deflection.
- Intermittently dead.

- Vertical jitter.
- Poor picture quality, smearing, milkiness, glistening on peak whites or insufficient brightness.
- Vertical collapse.
- Reduced vertical size.
- Frame synchronisation poor.

- Incorrect line speed.

- Switched mode power supply trips when warm.

- Convergence adjustment.
- Dark picture.
- PAL matrix amplitude adjustment.
- Tripping (intermittently).
- Blank raster.
- Horizontal shift fault.
- Ballooning effect.
- Stripes over the picture.
- Field roll with a snowy picture.
- Inadequate colour identification.
- Insufficient height or the height varies. (NIKKAI - 1401 information)
- Tuner only memorises stations with even numbers.
- Channels cannot be tuned in or stored.
- Snowy picture and field roll.
- Intermittent manual channel change.
- The output of the power supply falls slowly until the point where the field cramp becomes apparent.
- Appliance trips when changing channel.
- Line oscillator does not function.
- Vertical foldover at top and bottom.
- Stuck in standby.
- Channel display number does not correspond to channel.
- Field blanked from 1 to 3 inches at top of screen.
- Infra-red receiver does not function.
- Reverting to channel 1.
- There was a snowy raster but no sound or channel indicator illumination.
- VIF alignment.
- Frame collapse or intermittent frame collapse.
- The appliance is dead (tripping).
- Appliance trips when warm.
- Vertical size adjustment.
- When volume increased row of dots indicate volume still at minimum.
- Stops tripping if C811 PSU is disconnected.
- No audio. No picture.
- Raster is blank with flyback lines.
- Blank raster. Audio OK .
- Incorrect frame linearity.
- Occasionally appliance switches off.
- Picture tube is not lit.
- Raster is green with flyback lines. (NIKKAI - 1401 information)
- Width is reduced and picture is faint.
