VN7200 / NIKON [Camcorder - 8mm]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for VN7200 / NIKON.
List of fault symptoms:
- Pixel repair for LANCLink Interface.
- Wavy representation of vertical lines.
- Servicing the CF33 flexible board.
- Transport noise in FF, REW and PB.
- Closes and starts to load, then jams.
- Broken focus ring, zoom OK.
- Door will not close.
- No eject. Other functions OK .
- Service information. Psion based EVR software is available.
- Cassette compartment will not release.
- Service information. Wiping cloth for video heads and drum.
- Loud head drum motor noise may be recorded through the microphone.
- Focus stuck. (VN7200 tips)
- Service information. The mecha chassis block is now available.
- No PB or REW.
- Mechanical noise in REW, PB and REC.
- Irregular loading. The cass tape may stick to the drum resulting in the tape being ejected. (last emergency - drum pg error).
- 28MHz origin adjustment.
- ATF servo fails during PB.
- Ejection of cassettes is defective, blocked mechanically.
- TG1 arm falls out.
- Does not load tape. No eject. Fault occurs intermittently. .
- Service information. When servicing the camera the flange back may be shifted when pushing around the zoom reset sensor.
- Automatic focus and zoom fail intermittently.
- Intermittent transport.
- When in REW, drum reverses. When loading the drum slows down, then the tape is unloaded.
- Unit will not close door. When applying power, mechanism ejects OK, but will not set back to load/unload state.
- No mechanical operation. The bulletin illustrates a procedure to be followed to determine if the T reel and S reel need replacement.
- Ticking noise from mechanism in all modes.
- Mechanical noise.
- Eject inop ( TG-1 lever comes off it's guide ) (NIKON - VN7200 information)
- No eject intermittently. Capstan motor possibly doesn't rotate. Intermittently ejects. Capstan motor not rotating.
- Jig information. Ez clip jig helps repair, adjustment and maintenance of models equipped with the ez connector.
- No picture. in camera mode.
- Drum runs at high speed when power is applied.
- Loads tape then ejects immediately.
- No Eject. Caution LED flashing. E-E OK.
- Does not load tape.
- Loud zoom noise can be heard when recording.
- Does not load tape. intermittently.
- Mechanism loads halfway without cassette, rewinds a few seconds and stops.
- Does not accept tape.
- Date and time memory is occasionally lost.
- Unit loads half way. Drum fails to change direction, then unit unloads.
- Does not accept tape. Closes OK without one.
- Will not load tapes (intermittently no rewind). Mechanism only half loads then slowly attempts to finish.
- Switches off after a short time. Take-up reel jolts.
- Modification/circuit change. Iris replacement.
- Intermittently does not accept tape. (VN7200 tips)
- No tape loading, loads ok without a tape. No drum rotation.
- Speed problem. T guide arm and rail base guide replacement procedure.
- Tape spills out when REW is selected.
- Tape jams.
- Parts of picture shift horizontally. Looks like drop out. No visible drop outs in FM signal.
- New publication.
- No eject.
- Cassette stuck in appliance and "caution" warning is displayed. (service info for NIKON -VN7200)
- Switches continuously from SP to LP.
- Does not REC Hi-8.
- Part no. info: Crank lever.
- Incomplete battery charge. When charging an NP-500 in the camera, the battery may not be charged to 80%, or the charging LED may not be lit up.
- Destroys under side of tape.
- Mechanism jammed. intermittently.
- Tape stuck in mechanism, no functions. Loads OK.
- Does not accept cassette. Mechanical crunching noise.
- Reduced horizontal size. in viewfinder.
- Camera switches off again immediately since the supply table is not driven.
- RK gear goes under supply reel in REW and breaks.
- No unloading or ejecting of tape.. Although the unloading operation during eject is normal the cassette compartment does not rise.
- Mechanical noise. Mechanical noise during rew, or noise captured during REC.
- No eject. Powers down with caution indicator blinking.
- Picture in viewfinder is darker on the left with vertical lines.
- Does not load tape. No drum/head rotation.
- Bright points in pixel. 1-CCD defective pixel repair.
- Microcomputer versions and evr data settings.
- Mechanical noise. Mechanical noise during rew, or noise captured during REC.
- Doesn't load cassette. Creaking noise from the mechanism.
- Does not switch to standby. Power problem.
- Part number information. Ccd imagers without any defective pixels are now available for this camcorder.
- Low audio level. PB sound level is too low, a kind of echo can be heard; muffled sound.
- Too low volume on recordings with a built in microphone.
- Eats tape.
- No Zoom function.
- Cassette ejects but new cassette cannot be inserted.
- Failure of flexible membrane may result in various faults.
- Unstable picture. Oil on the tape or on the tape path may cause picture distortion, head clogging, tape eject or no drum rotation.
- Blocks intermittently during tape unloading.
- Part number information. Cable kit.
- The take up reel table does not rotate with an inserted cassette.
- Cassette compartment won't rise
- Caution light on when loading.
