5577 L2UXSPECTRA / NORDMENDE [TV (Standard)]

List of fault symptoms:
  • Faulty PSU.
  • Sound calibration alignment - Multinorm Module.
  • Bright picture with flyback lines after 30 mins.
  • Picture pulls horizontally. OK when warm.
  • Short white lines run through the picture. Background has no picture content. Neither TV sound nor noise can be heard. Picture and sound occur after 10 mins
  • When using a NINTENDO console, TV does not return to TV mode after putting NINTENDO console into standby.
  • No audio. OK via SCART . Switches to standby (after a few minutes).

  • No vertical deflection. Frying noise from PSU.
  • When selecting other than page 100, text comes on with page 888 for eg. Only on some channels.
  • White screen. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Standby line whistles.
  • Line driver TSVK01 (BC327-25) fails immediately.
  • Numerous defects in power supply.
  • Resistor R050 in PSU fails. (5577 tip from NORDMENDE)
  • Appliance is dead. when switching on the standby LED flashes once.
  • Enter service mode.
  • Power supply collapses. Power supply ok when 26V raster disconnected.
  • When cold, switches off almost immediately; symptom gradually improves as appliance gets warmer. If brightness is turned down stops switching off. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No synch and no text via scart. Ok via HF.
  • Wavy vertical lines, sometimes very obvious, sometimes faint. Noise from low voltage power supply. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Interference at switch-off.
  • Vertical collapse. (picture attached)
  • Does not switch on from standby with RC. Other functions are OK. May occur after a few days. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Does not display SECAM standard. Operates ok in SECAM via scart. Functions ok in PAL, selection of standard 2 or 3 ok.
  • Squealing from PSU (after start-up). Excessive horizontal size. (picture attached)
  • Enable Hotel mode.
  • Intermittently switches to standby when on for few minutes; then OK when switched back on; click from speakers when switching off. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Interference noise in NICAM sound during SECAM-L reception. (by very high volume set-up).
  • Focus alignment adjustment.
  • No contrast.
  • Switches to protection mode.
  • Poor line sync.
  • Screen has white line across.
  • Tries to start up but switches off after a sec.
  • Bright picture. Flyback lines.
  • No raster. Possibly sound ok. Standby LED ok. Possibly NICAM LED flashing. (+ extract of circuit diagram)

  • Vertical position alignment adjustment.
  • Picture is very blurred and vertical is not synchronised. With a VCR connected to scart picture is synchronised and is ok.
  • Low power supply voltages which increase when line transformer is disconnected. (5577 tip from NORDMENDE)
  • Tripping or pulsing.
  • Horizontal output stage fails immediately. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No functions.
  • Poor vertical linearity.
  • Switches off after short operation while. (5577 NORDMENDE repair tip)
  • In cold conditions, PSU triggers. Attempts to start, but it blocks.
  • Switches to standby. after a while. No start-up. when cold. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Setting U1.
  • Impossible to switch back on again after standby.
  • Dull picture and lack of luminance, chroma OK.
  • Setting the horizontal amplitude.
  • Picture has shifted with approx. 3cm to the right, as if foldover available.
  • Poor contrast, almost negative picture, especially via AV.
  • Low contrast. Low brightness.
  • No audio. Picture OK .
  • Picture tube board 5858 2050 does not fit into the chassis version with the connection plugs.
  • Green picture. Flyback lines. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Reduced horizontal size. intermittently.
  • Diode VK03 (ZPY 5.6V) is defective. (service info for NORDMENDE -5577)
  • No start-up (intermittently).

  • Stuck in standby. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Picture jumps from normal program to noise or to another program.
  • Picture loss after 30-40 mins. Audio OK.
  • Picture is faint and has no vertical synchronization.
  • EHT appears briefly and PSU cuts out.
  • No sound in the tuner, picture ok. After a moment TV stops as if there was no programme. Does not stop on channels in channel search. Sound ok in scart. (5577 tips)
  • No colour and no contrast (commands do not respond). Display OK.
  • Picture crackling at switch on.
  • Buzz in audio. (5577 NORDMENDE repair tip)
  • Loud whistling of the HT when warm.
  • No audio.
  • 4cm band at the top and bottom of the screen and picture jumps.
  • Only black picture and OSD after a while. No sound.
  • Dead. Standby LED ok. Possibly NICAM LED flashing. Possibly sound ok. (extract of circuit diagram attached) (5577 tips)
  • Teletext decoder alignment.
  • E/W correction fault. Picture rounded to centre.
  • Impossible to start up from standby. Normally starts up from On/Off switch.
  • Switches to standby (intermittently). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Horizontal line. in the centre. (picture attached)
  • Low contrast.
  • Stuck in standby. Front LED ok at switch on, then standby LED. Front LED and stereo LED flicker successively when tuning in a channel with RC or with front controls. (+ extract of circuit diagram) (NORDMENDE - 5577 information)
  • Fails after 3/4 of an hour, no standby LED after replacing line output transformer. Crackling in loudspeaker at switch off. After switch off runs again for only approx 3/4 of an hour.
  • If contrast is at maximum, when bright advertisments come up, TV turns off and switches to standby.
  • Switches to standby, can be restarted again. No fault when TXT is activated.
  • Appliance breaks down.
  • Trips.
  • No synchronisation. Audio and OSD OK .
  • After line transformer has been changed high voltage flash overs in the focus regulator.
  • Setting the focus.
  • Picture collapses to lines, is reduced and drops out after approx. 1 min operation.
  • No reception in cable network.
  • Picture has shifted to the left and is black and white. No sound. OSD is positioned correctly, 8362 has been changed.
  • Dead (intermittently).
  • Picture and sound muted when standby selected.
  • Adjusting the sound.
  • Bright picture. Flyback lines. Switches off by itself. after a few seconds.
  • No picture. OSD OK . (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Slow start-up.
  • TV does not function. 50V on 120V line, power supply secondaries OK, line transformer secondaries OK, power supply TEA has been changed, standby light is off, power supply BU oscillograms incorrect.
  • No start up. When switching off by the switch the front LED lights up for a short time. Restricted lamp and sound present before cut off. Nothing if you insist.
  • Resistor RK31 has changed colour.
  • AGC adjustment.
  • G2 and colour temperature alignment adjustment.
  • Text processor switches to TEST mode.
  • No vertical deflection.
  • Reduced vertical size.
  • When cold, TDA2653A burns out. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • No function. Standby LED flashes at switch on. No picture. No sound.
  • DD01 (TDA8360/62) is defective.
  • Dark screen. at start-up. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • C033 (10uF) runs hot.
  • When TV started up, transistor (S2000AF) instantly burn out.
  • Muted audio. intermittently.
  • Switches off by itself. after a few minutes.
  • Horizontal amplitude alignment adjustment.
  • Colour tint in screen centre after switch-off.
  • No colour. No contrast. Picture has shifted horizontally by 5cm towards left-hand side.
  • Blows fuse. intermittently.
  • Horizontal and vertical holds of both syncs are lost.
  • Disable hotel mode.
  • Dead. Squealing from PSU. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Goes into automatic search after operating for a few mins. Channel buttons blocked on the RC.
  • 1 pulse then dead.
  • PSU pulsates.
  • Dead or stuck in standby.
  • AFC alignment check. (5577 NORDMENDE repair tip)
  • Power supply transistor (BUF405A) blown after approx 1½ hrs.
  • Horizontal roll.
  • No picture.
  • When sunlight falls on receiver, remote control does not function.
  • Horizontal tearing. when cold.
  • TV starts up when cold and cuts out after 20 secs then power supply pulsates. Occasionally functions for 1 hour.
  • No UHF mode. OK in VHF mode.
  • U1 voltage alignment adjustment.
  • Failure of line drive transistor VK01.
  • Picture adjustment is not done in manual search of channels B and C. Sound adjustment ok.
  • Line tearing. after a few minutes. Switches to standby. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Horizontal line, picture dark in AV and can not be switched further.
  • PSU starts up briefly then no functions.
  • Screen becomes whiter and whiter. Appliance switches off and then goes to standby. Startup and sound are OK.
  • Poor audio. No colour. Picture shifted to the left.
  • Poor contrast via AV, TV-picture also somehow sludgy.
  • Contrast and colour will not increase.
  • After replacing capacitor C033 it fails again within a few months.
  • Almost negative picture.
  • In automatic search channels B and C are not recognised or stored.
  • Afterglow at switch off.
  • Vertical amplitude alignment adjustment.
  • Shuts down. after start-up.
  • Tuning drifts. No TXT.
  • Picture does not hold.
  • No functions. Standby LED lit . (picture attached)
  • Power supply doesn't start up, after restart with mains switch functions OK.
  • Coloured menu.
  • Dim picture. after warm-up.
  • Reduced horizontal size. (NORDMENDE - 5577 information)
  • AFC adjustment.
  • Horizontal line.
