5742 986537A / NORDMENDE [TV]

• Interference lines in no particular time frame. Vertical jitter (5742 tip from NORDMENDE)
• Bright picture. No reception.
• Picture width, E/W and trapeze can only be adjusted minimally.
• Lower picture part is missing.
• E/W fault.
• The picture shows E/W fault, the top shows a 2 cm black bar and RP4 smokes. (with circuit diagram extract) (5742 tip from NORDMENDE)
• Intermittent interference stripes on screen, thereby vertical picture jitter.
• Vertical fault, only approx 5cm wide picture in centre.
• Appliance sometimes switches off, then functions ok again for days. Line end stage control from power IC TEA2026 breaks down, 110V stays present. Display functions ok.
• The picture rolls up from the bottom. (What can be seen at the top also appears at the bottom). (+ extract of circuit diagram)
• Defective tuner. No reception. Only noise in picture.
• Dark screen. Sound OK.
• RL25 (10K) burns.
• Picture is displaced to the bottom of the screen. Frame linearity appears to be normal.

• PSU smokes.

• Line output stage is defective.
• Picture is too small/distorted.
• Bright picture with flyback lines. Sound OK.
• BU806 fails after 2 days of operation.
• Picture becomes gradually lighter, flyblack lines. Control grid cannot be adjusted.
• Picture narrows and twists after the appliance has been on for a while. Perfect picture for hours when the appliance is switched off and immediately switched on again. Display and channel tuning are ok.
• Green picture. Streaky, coloured shadows in every contour. May occur with red or blue picture. Shadows are the colour of contour streaks.
• Repeated failure of BU806 chopper transistor TP01. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
• Reduced vertical and horizontal size. Distorted picture. (5742 NORDMENDE repair tip)
• PSU BU806 fails immediately after start-up.
• No TXT. Picture remains. Six lines in the display to show that the TV is in TXT mode.
• Failure of chopper transistor or line output transistor.
• Operation and tuner commands are always "on".
• Green picture, streaking, coloured shadows by each contour, also by red and blue picture. Shadow is the same colour as contour streaking.
