6205VT 990541 / NORDMENDE [TV]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for 6205VT / NORDMENDE.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Excessive brightness. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • After completing chassis with the TXT decoder VT294 there is a bright spot approx 5cm high in the lower quarter of the screen. Remainder of the screen is dark.
  • Line stage does not start up.
  • No picture after 30 mins. (NORDMENDE - 6205VT information)
  • Instructions how to go into the SERVICE mode.
  • No image content. Image dark. (picture attached)
  • Adjusting the peak white: chassis.
  • Always pulsating. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Sound flutters or is distorted.
  • Too low vertical amplitude; cannot be adjusted with VA control to nominal value. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Vertical line. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Crack in sound.
  • No start-up from standby. intermittently. (6205VT tips)
  • Does not come on from standby, red standby light comes on. (picture attached)
  • Setting the audio trap.
  • Pulsates. Buzzing sound.
  • At switch on HT builds up but then BU fails.
  • Starts briefly, then it switches off again. PSU pulsates.
  • No colour.
  • TL19 in line end stage defective. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Only noise on screen, screen menü cannot be superimposed. Does not react to RC or control panel commands.
  • Switches off after approx 3 secs from start-up.
  • No functions. Standby LED does not light. (6205VT NORDMENDE repair tip)
  • The stand by led flashes up at second intervals. The appliance only functions at a reduced mains voltage.
  • Adjusting the SECAM (4.25MHz) colour carrier trap: Chassis.

  • Adjusting the R-Y demodulator: chassis.

  • Coloured tinge in picture.
  • Setting the bell filter: chassis.
  • Part no. info: PSU repair kit.
  • Dark picture. OSD OK .
  • Vertical wave lines, especially in lower image half.
  • Vertically non-linear image. Noise coming from vertical deflection board.
  • Dark screen.
  • Dead, standby point cannot be seen, no secondary standby voltage, no 8V voltage at collector of TP16 (BC368). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • White alignment: picture tube board.
  • Reduced vertical size.

  • Adjusting the NTSC(3.58MHz) colour carrier trap: Chassis.
  • Fails after approx. 5 mins.
  • Picture flickers with coloured OSD (eg from a VCR). (with circuit diagram extract)
  • No direct time OSD possible.
  • Exaggerated red colour with visible flyback lines.
  • No TXT. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Line transistor fails immediately after switch on.
  • Adjusting the deflection- and geometry values. (NORDMENDE - 6205VT information)
  • Contrast average value is too high. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • E/W fault.
  • No start-up. intermittently.
  • Adjusting the main voltage (Usyst. 143V): Chassis.
  • Black horizontal bars in picture. TXT picture is only partially visible.
  • Setting the SECAM identification: chassis.
  • Appliance pumps continuously. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No raster. Screen lights up.
  • Two hours after line transformer was replaced, appliance switches off, as soon as high voltage has built up.
  • At switch on high voltage builds up. Occasionally flashovers in the picture tube or on the base. Occasionally S2000 fails. Drive and PSU are ok.
  • Occasionally does not start up from standby.
  • Vertical lines are distorted horizontally.E/W equalisation can not be adjusted correctly.
  • Sound fizzles.
  • Loud noise, if appliance is switched to standby.
  • Adjusting the PAL amplitude: chassis.
  • TP29 fails after switch on.
  • Intermittently picture shifts with approx 2 cm on top at start-up. OK after 10 mins.
  • After turning on vertical image is intermittently shifted up by approx. 2 cm; after approx. 10 minutes it returns to normal position. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Secondary protective switch TV01 and TV02 intermittently tripping. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No start-up. Standby LED lit .
  • No function, high voltage builds up for a short time then switches off.
  • No start-up.
  • Adjustment of screen grid voltage: chassis.
  • No audio. No picture. Squealing from PSU. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Dead. Standby LED does not light.
  • Slow start-up.
  • Vertical deflection error. Horizontal stripes in picture. Noise. (6205VT tips)
  • Picture is OK but picture width changes at brightness change. If picture width is decreased flickering in picture.
  • Crackling at switch off.
  • After a few minutes screen becomes very bright and flyback lines become visible, then everything comes back to normal. Symptom keeps recurring.
  • Transistors in the PSU and horizontal part fail simultaneously after 90 mins.
  • Distorted image. Strong streaking effect. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Grey adjustment: CRT board.
  • PSU does not always start after switch on via front control or RC.
  • No start-up from standby with RC.
  • Horizontal vawes in lower image half.
