63FUTURA / NORDMENDE [TV]

supplies the following faults for 63FUTURA / NORDMENDE.
List of fault symptoms:
- Trips 3 times.
- No horizontal amplification.
- After replacing IV21, picture is too wide. Slight geometry fault. (63FUTURA tip from NORDMENDE)
- No start up by RC or ON/OFF switch and total deprogramming when switching to standby by RC. Initially works normally by ON/OFF switch. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Cables to be connected on the vertical deflector.

- Black lines on 3, 2 and 1.
- No start up of PSU. No standby light. (service info for NORDMENDE -63FUTURA)
- Fuse FP05 and TP24 (S2000) S/C.
- RF14 burns up. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Goes into standby and cannot be turned on using RC; OK when channel up button on set is pressed for approx 8 secs. (picture attached)
- Loss of light after 15 minutes.
- Goes into safety 3 times.
- Poor horizontal synchronisation. when changing channels.
- Power supply transistor blows up at switch on. (picture attached)
- Rotating vertical lines on whole image. If adjusted with potentiometer PF02, image in lower third looks correct. (picture attached)

- No search possible, snow.
- PSU does not oscillate correctly although the drive pulses are present at LP 32 . (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- In time picture increasingly wanders down the screen.
- There is a moire effect on the screen for a short while and no sound.
- Intermittently wide interference stripes appear on screen. Picture OK via scart.
- Moire pattern. when cold.

- PSU and high voltage pump three times. (picture attached)
- Interference in picture. intermittently.
- No sound. Good picture then goes into stand-by after 5 mins then starts up again after pressing a channel number 3 or 4 times.
- No blue. in TXT. Picture OK .
- No picture and no direct display of the channel possible. Picture shifts. (NORDMENDE - 63FUTURA information)
- The picture amplitude is too small. The whole of the picture is recorded in the lower half of the screen.
- No grey scale. Functions in SCART.
- After working for a while, RVB lines appear at the top of the screen.
- Switching transistor TP24 fails repeatedly.
- Switches on, but HV does not build up.
- Intermittently TV starts up. Switches on and off 3 times. (picture attached)
- Line transformer vibration on white pictures.
- Reduced vertical and horizontal size.
- Poor picture and sound synchronisation. Moire effect on the picture. Occasionally there is no sound or picture. (service info for NORDMENDE -63FUTURA)

- Vertical lines. at top. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- No sound, no picture. Weak brightness. Flyback lines if G2 pushed. No functions from TV front panel.
- Grey scale poor and excessive brightness on teletext.
- No sound. No vertical or horizontal scanning. Just a blue line.
- At start up with mains switch or even during operation, snow appears on screen with loud cracking. OK when starting up from standby.

- Line transformer cuts out after 5 mins but display remains on. If started up agin, remains on for 5 mins then cuts out again.

- Picture geometry problems.
- B/W in Canal Plus when codified.
- Intermittent fault. No sound or picture. No display or standby light. Appliance hums. If it is stopped it starts again after a moment. (+ extract of circuit diagram)

- Picture is rolled up or folded over at the bottom.
- Wavy picture on right side. Switches off after 5 to 10 mins. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Hiss in audio.
- No PIP in TT mode, letter errors.
- Poor chrominance of black/white with colour at zero. (63FUTURA tip from NORDMENDE)
- No signal. after a few minutes.
- Slight picture jitter in the vertical synchronisation. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- White screen with flyback lines. Beam current limiter fault G2. A450VT has already been adjusted.
- Tripping. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Power supply fuse blown. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Sound VHT is correct but there is no picture and the screen is black.
- Arcing at switch on. CTV trips 3 times then stops.
- At start-up PSU trips three times then goes into safety mode.
- No start-up. Pulsates 3 times in 3 secs.
- White wavy line across the middle of picture 1in wide. (picture attached)
- White screen, no picture. At start up displays 1 and after 5 secs 88, no function possible 5V OK, 20V OK.
- Power supply blows intermittently (3 times max) when warm or cold.
- Raster is blank only a half inch picture showing.
- Pulses 3 times then goes into safety mode. Abnormal line pulses on line BU with noise.
- Poor Teletext page number.
- No UHF channels. when cold.
- The appliance switches off automatically and loses its station memory.
- ICC7 chassis. N/S correction does not function properly. Initially no function.
- Picture and sound disappear after approx 5-10 minutes. Not heat-sensitive.
- No picture when switching to TXT.
- Light spot at centre of screen when TV stopped. Spot disappears immediately.
- Corrective maintenance aid.
- Blank screen with out of focus blob in bottom centre of screen.
- Impossible to change standard. Goes directly to CH.
- Loss of stored settings: Tuning, picture or sound.
- Line output transistor TL31 fails. Works for days sometimes weeks. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Poor reception. Pieces of OSD appear erratically on display. No menu display.
- Rolling coloured and white lines. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Program site is displayed but the appropriate picture does not appear. If fine tuning is activated, picture appears.

- Only channel 21 is received in UHF. Picture and sound ok in VHF. Displays the correct channels.
- Goes into safety mode after pulsating 3 times.
- Standby LED flickers fast.
- Poor RCU command, even with a brand new RCU. RCU functions ok on another TV or it is necessary to move nearer to the TV or to direct it well.
- TP48 fails after short time.
- With audio module black picture with unstable green bars. Without an audio module snowy picture but no reception.

- Green is missing, background is magenta.
- Blurred picture, fine adjustment does not adjust sufficiently.
- Picture white out.
- After a storm no sound and no picture. No light, filament lights up, line transformer ok. screen remains dark, light appears at switch off. (63FUTURA tips)
- Dark screen dark with vertical bright flyback lines. Picture suddenly appears leaving 2" band at top. (with circuit diagram extract)
- The channel frequency shifts for 3 seconds then shifts again. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Hum on picture and noisy chopper transformer.
- Rainbow on the screen.
- VCR picture is distorted via scart, with distorted grain and faint colours.
- Switches to standby (intermittently). (with circuit diagram extract)
- No HT supplies from DP41, DP37 and DP32. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- No sound or picture. Scanning not very apparent, greenish, flyback lines. Functions occasionally in scart.
- No picture. Sound will not tune. (picture attached)

- Screen is very snowy.

- Power supply switches off.

- No start up. The standby light comes on then goes off straight away when stop function is requested.

- Shuts down.
- Vertical position does not go high enough. (picture attached)

- No signal.
- Mains switch does not lock on.

- LED remains on when set switched on.

- Various NICAM faults.

- The appliance does not work with the remote control, but requests from the appliance are accepted.
- Dead. Standby LED does not light. Standby LED lit . No RC functions. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Switches to standby. after start-up (intermittently).
- No EHT or power supply when switched on. 7V=6.3V.
- Stop function does not function in teletext, but always jumps back to the memorized page. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- All programme numbers tuned to the same channel.
- No display, no video, white screen. Flyback lines and no sound. (picture attached)
- TV works well with an input on scart socket but not with an aerial. Automatic search stops on a station and only oblique bars or distorted pictures are visible.
- CTV loses its programming when there is a power cut. What is the value the battery must charge at ?
- Bright picture after 2 secs from start-up and no contrast. After 5 secs picture is OK.
- Field scan is poor with diagonal RGB lines across screen.
- No start-up from standby with RC.
- OSD only functions in PAL.
- Occasionally sound and picture crackling. (picture attached)

- PSU fails in various conditions.
- When increasing contrast or on bright video scenes, chroma disappears and 1 or 2 vertical fine black lines appear on left of screen.
- No V1, V2 or VS supplies.
- Channel memory disappears.
- Memory loss.

- TP48 fails after a few days.

- No power supply and the stand-by light is lit on.

- No picture only on 3 channels (eg. nothing on 1, 3 and 6 but picture on 2 and 5) after warming up for 10 mins. This problem disturbs other TVs plugged into the same aerial. (with circuit diagram extract)

- Blows line output transformer.

- Reduced vertical deflection. at bottom.
- Picture is missing, only lines approximately 2 inches part.

- Picture is too small with flyback lines. Diagonal coloured lines in top of picture.

- Rotating vertical stripes on the whole screen.

- No power supply, chopper power supply transformer, nothing at the output. 140V on the collector of S2000 of the line transformer.

- No HV (intermittently).
- Rolling colours and white lines.
- Picture height below the centre of the screen.
- No function. PAUSE LED is lit.
- At switch on, focus pot arcing and igniting. CRT board and tube ventiduct disconnected but fault persists.

- Power supply of the control micro is too low (micro has been changed). 3 Volts, CTV does not start up.
- Programming impossible but responds in SERVICE mode.
- Drops out. Picture jitters. Picture becomes wider.

- TDA4443 and IF blow after two or three days.

- Teletext moves vertically. Appliance functions very well when Teletext is not displayed.

- Intermittent white screen with the picture in background.
- No reception. No UHF or VHF. Channels are displayed correctly.
- Intermittently blocks in AV. The channels remain displayed on the display.
- White line approx 10 cm from top of picture. Other functions ok.
- Noisy sound on both channels (dependent on the volume setting).
- Occasionally dead, then snow. Goes into standby by the RCU and only starts up again after 30 secs.

- Horizontal lines.
- When the appliance switches off, a spot appears on the screen. (+ extract of circuit diagram)

- After a few mins, switches off then starts up again. When this has happened 2 or 3 times, goes into standby. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- At switch off with the RC, shows odd segments in the display and cannot be switched on with the RC. (63FUTURA tips)
- No colour at start up. Colour appears after 10 mins but predominantly green on left side of screen. Does not react to heat or cold.

- Occasionally static discharge.
- Sound is extremely weak with tube noise. TV picture ok.

- Maladjusted convergence on the top quarter of the picture.

- No raster deflection. No picture, only vague light in background. Looks like coloured spot at bottom of picture. No start up.
- Fades out or very dim.
- The PSU switches 3 times, line transformer, E/W diodes, U4 and U5 are ok.
- Vertical stability fault. Picture revolves as it moves up the screen. No sound with scart. TV goes into standby after 5 mins as if there were no transmission.
- Teletext clock stops. Each 5cm high part of the picture is missing. (picture attached)

- No operation (intermittently).
- Signal and tuning are missing.
- When cold trips 3 times with crackling in the speaker, then safety mode. When warm trips then starts up. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Blank screen with coloured dots/interference and possible smell of over heating.
- When appliance is switched on by the mains switch, the TV starts up for a moment, then goes into standby. Does not start up from the RCU.
- Starts up after several attempts but screen is black.
- No programming.

- Characteristics of the rechargeable battery.

- RV82 (10R) on tube board blows repeatedly.
- Switches to protection mode. intermittently.
- Incorrect horizontal linearity, right part of test pattern is wider than left.

- First four inches of field scan is compressed; horizontally displaced verticals.

- No functions, picture or sound. 88 on display.
- Vertical deflection fails. Then only white lines in top half of picture.
- In the picture appear black lines similar to lightning. Fault is not visible via scart.
- After an hour dark screen, no sound, display is correct. The display remains on the channel selected then a moment afterwards goes into standby.

- No centering adjustment toward bottom.

- Linearity problem. Picture concentrated on three bands.
- Intermittent crackling in the picture (horizontal black lines).
- Pop at switch on.
- Vertical foldover at top.

- Power supply switches off for a short time (hiccup) when channel is switched over.
- Weak blue until the brightness is turned up, but then blue flares. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Loses channel 1.

- Green picture in HF and in scart.
- Black screen. All the voltages are correct. The sound, line transformer and the G2 are ok but the screen remains black.
- Does not switch on. Standby LED blinks weakly and very fast. Programs are lost when it starts.
- Red picture (after a while).

- With a 220V/100W load or with line connected, power supply stops but functions with the line disconnected.

- To remove the protective circuit.

- No locking. Reception disappears and returns jerkily.
- Lines in picture. No colour. No RC functions.
- Vertical lines on top slightly oscillate.
- Protective circuit starts up.
- Display isn't synchronised and has black horizontal line on picture instead which disappears when pressing TV key on RC but comes back again.
- No display. Audio OK .
- No sound and occasionally the mute function is activated.
- Bottom of picture stretches intermittently. E/W effect.

- VHF band 1 occasionally fails. Snow and sizzling noise in sound. Band 3 and high channels are ok.
- Heavy patterning on picture. Turning colour down patterning disappears, but the B/W picture has silvery effect on white areas.
- Dead (after start-up).
- No picture. via SCART. OK via tuner .

- No OSD and no TXT or no TXT sync and OSD.
- No power supply. Standby light comes on then goes off.
- Random OSG. Sound output is low.
- Can not be switched on via power switch or RC.
- Does not start up. 142V on line collector S2000, the standby LED scarcely lights up when appliance is switched off, a priori no diodes s/c.
- E/W fault.

- Picture and sound does not synchronise. No locking. (picture attached)
- No sound except on the headphones and the scart plug.
- Red dot which disappears in the display at start up. (with circuit diagram extract)
- No picture or PLL operation. There are vertical interference bars present. (with circuit diagram extract)
- No sound or picture. Teletext functions. Static discharge. New appliance.
- Reduced vertical deflection.
- Appliance trips or RL44 burns up.
- Set blocks (operation via RC or via user control only possible, after the set has been switched off and on again by mains switch.

- No E/W correction. Distorted picture.
- No OSG, (on screen graphics). Although no OSG, picture functions can still be altered.
- Teletext displays page 100 only.
- Replaced small transformer which was burning but TV remains in standby and FBT crackles for 5-6 secs then nothing.
- Dark picture with bright lines. Sound OK.

- Black screen. Switches to RGB in Canal Plus. Sound OK.
- Failure of LG11 in line output circuit. (with circuit diagram extract)
- No clock signal in 14 of the IV21. No Y signal in 41 of the IV21 and no light.
- Poor base command. TL31 at -0.4V instead of -0.8V, correct format.
- Picture more and more snowy until it fails then with a black and white horizontal bar and hum in the sound. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Standby light flashes. Power supply ok.
- Line BU blows after some time.
- Intermittent fault of the function display on the screen.
- Picture may distort if TT module fitted.
- Occasionally no start up. LED comes on then goes off immediately. Necessary to wait and switch on again. Then functions correctly.

- After switch off by RC, goes off, comes on twice then dead. Impossible to switch on again by RC, necessary to switch on again by the switch.
- NS pincushion distortion. More at the bottom than at the top.
- Occasionally the picture disappears and 3 white wavy horizontal lines appear for a few seconds. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- After losing programming, displays channel 57 instead of 58 (9 has to be added each time to the display). Poor picture outlines.

- Channel numbers cannot be entered.
- Nicam beacon flashing on/off rhymically especially at high beam current, sometimes hisses causing text to reset.

- Saturated picture and sound bands in the picture. Grains in the picture. Hum in sound on French programmes.
- Picture is almost dark, colours are weak and the Y-signal is too weak.
- Three coloured flyback lines at top of picture.

- Only colour info visible. No Y signal.
- Functions ok but occasionally picture goes into PAL on all channels. Everything becomes normal after a few mins. May function for hours without any problems.
- Dark screen with some RGB lines at the bottom of the screen and whistling near the FBT. Capacitor 1000/40V has been changed but fault persists. FBT has been changed but dark screen with hum then goes into safety mode.
- No vertical deflection. intermittently.
- In safety mode there is no high level on the Ger. point if the disconnection of the line raster deflector and power supply is correct.
- Trips after 15-20 mins. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Horizontal rotating lines approx 5-8cm high. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- In cold state of the television receiver, the thyristor DL21 (ESM740G) in the vertical stage may not switch on. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Picture is shifted approx 5cm to the top. E/W and trapezium cannot be adjusted.
- Low gain.
- Intermittent power up; line at top. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Pincushion potentiometer PG08 controls picture width.

- Rotating lines in upper part of picture.

- Drifts at switch on after 2 mins.

- U system voltage table.
- Terrestrial channel in the background of a satellite transmission.
- Picture is missing, dull coloured areas only.
- Fuse FP05 (1.6A) blows sporadically without any obvious reason after an extended running time (approx 1-2 months). After replacing appliance runs perfectly again.

- No channel tuning in search mode.
- The picture only appears after about 3 or 4 minutes and then turns red or blue.

- To switch on TV from standby with RC it is necessary to press for a long time or several times on one channel.

- Protective circuit malfunction.
- Faulty TXT.

- Dark screen with a light spot at bottom of screen.
