X7010 / OCEANIC [TV]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for X7010 / OCEANIC.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Excessive horizontal size.
  • After a power supply breakdown find out the exact voltage on the secondary diodes and on BOD22.
  • Horizontal stripe.
  • Wrong power supply voltages.
  • Dry crackling after operating for 2 hours, nonsensical display and RC does not function. Everything becomes normal after stop.
  • Dark screen and no display. If you push G2 flyback line visible, standby light stays on. (service info for OCEANIC -X7010)
  • Light picture. No brightness contrast control.
  • Blue picture. Flyback lines.
  • Picture is red then green. Change colours by itself.
  • BOR2 and BOT2 have been changed but blow again after some time.
  • Light picture. Light cannot be adjusted. (OCEANIC - X7010 information)
  • White screen with flyback lines. Irregular thermal tube noise in the speaker. 210V pumps then disappears.
  • The power supply slackens after working for a few days: S2055, R1OHM, 5 electrolytics, TEA2019,4 1N4007, C47µF/ 400V have been changed. Breakdown occurs when switching on.
  • No voltage. (X7010 tips)
  • Channel loss approx every fortnight. Clicking before loss occurs.
  • Raster synchronisation fault and line.
  • Picture tears into lines. (X7010 tips)
  • Very frizzy line.
  • Dark picture. The brightness contrast does not work very much.
  • No start up, remains in standby. LM317 OK, line transformer OK.
  • Line reduction and foldover in centre of screen.
  • Vertical foldover at bottom.
  • Resistor BOR6 does not hold: it blows.
  • BU blows at start up.
  • Power supply pulsates when warm.
  • Fuzzy picture.
  • Remains blocked in standby. B5T202 S2055A is defective. If you change it the fault persists.
  • Black screen. Audio OK .
  • Wavy vertical lines and line synchronisation. Noise from the power supply transformer.
  • EHT unstable.
  • Dark screen and the scanning LED lights up.
  • Horizontal white streak. Power supply collapses.
  • Slow start-up.
  • Power supply blows after flashover.
  • Power supply collapses. Starts up from time to time.
  • Picture is OK only if background is green. (X7010 OCEANIC repair tip)
  • Black screen. Power supply is correct.
  • Picture patterning and venetian blind effect: Horizontal black stripes, 1 cm high.
  • PSU whistles.
  • Sound and picture lock.
  • The picture has come out of frame.
  • -V power supply on power supply transformer but does not start up. No standby.
  • Standby LED flashes occasionally at switch on. Appliance occasionally switches on correctly. PSU crackles in standby. (X7010 tips)
  • Secondary voltages are low. Tube does not heat up.
  • Memory erases every 15 days, preceded by an increase in sound volume after approx 3 hours.
  • Line transformer whistles.
  • No functions after a few secs. Works ok after switch off.
  • Negative picture. OK via SCART .
  • Dark screen and no 23V.
  • There is a blowing noise on the screen.
  • Raster synchronisation fault.
  • No colour.
  • Vertical fault.
  • Switches on after only 20 secs. 150V ok.
  • Loss of memory every 5 to 6 months.
  • No tuning. PCD8572, SAB303, tuner have been changed. Varicap voltage incorrect, 33V zener ok. 12V present. Voltage on pin 8 of the tuner is not conformable.
  • The appliance does not start up. The power supply pulsates.
  • No start up. No standby on front panel.
  • Veiled picture. Screen turns green for a short time. No action on BP02.
  • Dark screen but when you disconnect the wire from the E/W scanning, there is a vertical line in the middle of screen.
  • Dark screen, power supply OK, turns white if you increase the brightness.
  • The sound shifts in L/L. (X7010 tip from OCEANIC)
  • Power supply blows and this recurs after several days. All +S2000 +TEA2019 electrolytics have been replaced.
  • Black and white picture in PAL.
  • At start up screen changes colour a few times then becomes dark with a weak horizontal line at top of screen. No channel indication.
  • Slight horizontal tear of vertical lines and crackling.
  • No secondary voltage. Only 300V.
  • Dark picture. Flyback line when G2 is pressed.
  • BOR2 and BU508A (BOT2) fail after 10 secs in standby (hum) if you choose a channel they fail immediately.
  • Fine lines on screen. Same fault via scart.
  • Black screen with B.F. making a blowing noise.
  • The appliance crackles in standby.
  • Line transformer whistling.
  • No contrast.
  • Dark screen. The DEL (electro luminance diode) switches off with scanning.
  • No start up. TEA2019, S2000, photo, 1 capacitor have been changed. TV works well but after a few days S2000 and the 1ohm resistor blow at start up.
  • S2000 of power supply in S/C after 5 minutes of function. (X7010 OCEANIC repair tip)
  • Reduced horizontal size.
  • After replacing TEA2019 and S2055AF fuse BOR2 1ohm does not hold therefore no start up.
  • The appliance does not start up. No 12V.
  • Wide picture and correction faults. (service info for OCEANIC -X7010)
  • No green.
  • Dark screen but line transformer, no raster on pin 22 of the TDA8185, after some time power supply trips even with a lamp 75W pin 6 line transformer in the line transformer place. In this case no display.
  • White, grainy streak on upper picture third.
  • Yellow picture: no video signal at the output.
  • Vertical foldover at top.
  • No audio. (X7010 tip from OCEANIC)
  • Line transformer changed and present. Standby light on. No display. No function. Does not react to control panel or RCU.
  • 2055 blows and is repeated.
  • At start up, bridge diode power supply fuse is s/c. S2000 and safety resistor BOR2 defective. Power supply begins to pulsate. S2055 OK.
  • Purple picture. Flyback raster.
  • Dark screen. No picture.
  • Dark screen but scanning is correct.
  • All the voltages are low.
  • Pink tint in picture. Insufficient green colour.
  • No start-up.
  • Wavy lines on picture.
  • BU and rectifier blow after 10 secs. Whistling noises in standby.
  • The appliance does not start up. Freak display.
  • Red picture. Flyback lines.
  • OF2 S/C. T2A blows in PSU.
  • No audio. via SCART. (OCEANIC - X7010 information)
  • Switches to standby. after a few minutes.
  • Reduced picture and correction faults.
  • TDA8170 blows at switch on, on the frame stage.
  • Washed out picture. No blue.
  • Power supply BU and fuse blow for no apparent reason approx every week. When BU and fuse replaced TV works ok.
  • S2000 and power supply IC blow after they have been changed. Functions for 20 seconds, makes a whistling noise and there is a vertical white bar on the screen.
  • FBT replaced and defective again. FBT makes a whistling noise when cold and whistles slightly when warm.
  • Severe crackling of power supply transformer in standby and when ON.
  • Fuse resistor BOR2 (1R) heats up and turns red. Start up OK..
  • In standby the voltage is very high. No 12V and when operating adjusting the power supply voltage is impossible.
  • White screen.
  • Line tearing at the centre of the picture with foldover.
  • Picture too big.
  • No AV switching.
  • Washed out picture. No red.
  • Fuse blows and BU blows occasionally.
  • Green picture. Flyback lines.
  • Standby LED switches off, no channel indication, no video, no tuning, black screen and 10Q2 oscillates. Power supply ok, starts up from control panel.
  • Whistles at start up. Picture oscillation.
  • Very noisy power supply (whistling).
  • Moire effect on picture at start up for approx 5 mins.
  • Fuse resistor BOR2 (1R) blown.
  • Dark screen. Vertical line. Audio OK . (OCEANIC - X7010 information)
  • The appliance synchronizes. Nasal sound.
  • Remains in standby. Switch on ok.
  • No more vertical scanning. The IC and capacitor have been changed but there is no more HI-FI.
  • Trips.
  • No picture or sound in HF or scart. Power supply ok, FBT ok.
  • Dark screen. Correct scanning but no 12V BF.
  • Starts up then goes into standby. Standby voltage ok, line osc ok. (X7010 tip from OCEANIC)
  • The channels tend to drift after some time. Tuner and STK 5481 have already been replaced.
  • Intermittent audio and picture. Intermittent audio and picture.
  • Modifications to be carried out when power supply transformer replaced.
  • Erratic messages on display at start-up. High interference noise.
  • Line locking and power supply whistles.
  • Sync IC (TDA8185) collapses after 2 days.
  • On the screen no line amplitude and grey picture with flyback line.
  • Display is ok. Sound ok. Power supply ok. Horizontal line. No vertical scanning. New TDA8170. New TDA8185. Apparently everything is ok. (OCEANIC - X7010 information)
  • Power supply makes an unpleasant noise with Venetian blind effect on the screen and verticals are slightly wavy. Otherwise the TV functions.
  • White line.
  • Wavy lines on picture and whistling of sound power supply.
  • Horizontal line of 23cm in the middle of screen at start-up. Sound OK.
  • The picture skips about.
  • Washed out colours but red is dominant.
  • Flyback raster at the top of the screen.
  • No line scanning. Vertical line is apparent, deflector appears to be ok.
  • CTV works but there are whistling noises. On one line out of two 122V produces 107V.
  • Bu (S2055A) is defective.
  • Dark screen. Correct scanning. Battery B.F.
  • In scart or aerial, small red bars appear briefly and disappear in picture. Fault does not happen in normal TV.
  • Resistor BOR2 blows even after replacing TEA2019 BOC40 and BOC 32.
  • Channels do not match, ie, to obtain a channel on station 33, station 24 has to be selected. Otherwise it works normally.
  • Black screen. 70V on OC124.
  • S2000 has already been changed. Appliance does not start up.
  • No RC functions.
  • Washed out picture.
  • Line transformer OK. No display or sound. When you push the G2 you notice a flyback line like there is with a video fault.
  • Hiss in standby.
  • Stuck in standby. No LED lit.
  • No start-up. Standby LED does not light.
  • Black screen. The power supply tries to start up but does not succeed.
  • The appliance does not start up. No display or light.
  • When cold you cannot change channel and the display flashes slightly then everything returns to normal after a few minutes.
  • The power supply will not start up.
  • Dark screen.
  • At start up from cold no start up of power supply for LF. Power supply hiccups briefly then works ok.
  • In standby resistor BOR2 blows. Capacitors, TEA2019, S2000A3 have been changed.
  • TV functions for 10 secs and the power supply transformer blows with the fuse.
  • No TV sound on the scart.
  • Predominant red even when the colour is set to zero.
  • When TV is cold, power supply pulsates for 30 secs then starts up normally.
  • In LF voltage, BU508A blows at switch on. Line and frame deflection is correct.
  • When mains switch is pressed, standby LED lights up then switches off. Display does not function. Voltages ok but no 12V at output of LM317T.
  • Sound drift. Intermittent picture.
  • 33V varicap voltage blocked.
  • No brightness.
  • Dark screen. No 12V on Pin 24 of B4IC2.
  • Necessary modifications when replacing the line transformer.
  • Following a raster fault, change of the raster IC TDA8170. TV works again once connected, if you disconnect it the IC fails again.
  • At switch on correct picture for one or two mins and after completely red screen. Impossible to correct, whereas picture video module seems ok.
  • Modification to avoid PSU blowing after operating for some time. (X7010 tip from OCEANIC)
  • No picture at start up. Voltages and sound appear. After 20 sec, clicks, tube switches on and picture appears.
  • PSU correct but no line transformer. No base command of the line transistor. No 12V on the P24 of the TDA8185, 16V on the input of the LM317.
  • The picture blows but the sound is correct.
  • Power supply fault. (X7010 tips)
  • Power supply BU blows everything.
  • Power supply whistles in standby.
  • Dark picture. Video synchronization.
  • The appliance does not start up again when warm. No red light on. The battery then the transistor BOT2 and the IC BOIC2 cracks as well as the R fuse BOR2.
  • TV switches on but there is no picture. The screen remains snowy and there is no sound.
  • Blue screen with red dots, sound disappears occasionally. Shifted lettering on the right of the screen.
  • Line spacing on picture. Black lines every 2 horizontal lines.
  • Fault in the power supply. BOT2 is defective.
  • LM317 blown at start up.
  • RVB ring on screen. Whistling from transformer. (X7010 tips)
  • Dark picture with blue streaks.
  • No more green scanning. IC TDA8170 is defective. IC is again defective after 1 week.
  • Power supply pulsates. Oscillator TEA2019 has been changed. (X7010 tip from OCEANIC)
  • Display flashes randomly.
  • Black and white picture with an 8mm Pal camcorder via scart as via the aerial.
  • Fuzzy picture and a whistling noise in the power supply.
  • Fuse 2A has melted, diodes BOD2 and BOD8 (1N4007) blow continuously.
  • No function. No display, picture or video.
  • When a channel is started, resistor (BOR 2) blows after a few secs.
  • No start-up. Whistling. No display.
  • BU508 blows constantly.
  • Whistling in standby. Action on one channel, whistling returns. At the start, horizontal line appears then snowy screen with vertical scrolling.
  • Black picture. Red streaks. (X7010 tip from OCEANIC)
  • 10cm of the picture is missing at the bottom of the screen.
  • Green screen with flyback line. TEA 5031D has been changed.
  • On-line fuzzy outline of objects.
  • Power supply blows at start up.
  • White picture with flyback rasters, video IC TEA5031D has been replaced. When TV is started up, noise can be heard at approx 500 Hz and 4 secs after, the sound appears.
  • Normal screen for a few seconds then fails. Dark screen with occasional red flyback lines.
  • Streaks in picture. at bottom. (OCEANIC - X7010 information)
  • BU508A at supply BF OT102 blows at switch on.
  • Whistling in the power supply after changing S2055 TDA2019.
  • Power supply failure. Decoupling transistor S2000A fails when appliance starts up.
  • Sound increases by itself and display shows 88 or switches off.
  • Insufficient horizontal amplitude and impossible to adjust E/W.
  • White screen. at start-up. OK after a while .
  • Picture saturation problem as if G2 is defective. The colours run and G2 adjustment reacts a little. The same problem occurs if the FBT is changed.
  • Pale picture with slight flyback lines.
  • No display, no standby. Clicking of power supply. When FBT is unsoldered noise remains and when power supply transformer is unsoldered noise disappears.
  • No sound. Poor contact.
  • Dark picture with green streaks. (X7010 tips)
  • No sound, no picture and no standby at switch on. Intermittent fault.
  • Dead.
  • Disagreeable noise of the power supply with venetian blind effect on the screen and slight undulation of the verticals. Otherwise TV functions.
  • Picture reduced in height, 3-4cm is missing at the top and bottom. One colour is missing, picture is magenta or quite violet. Sound ok.
  • Raster fault; picture shrunken at top, compressed at centre and no picture at the bottom of the screen.
  • Intermittently goes to standby. Standby disappears occasionally.
  • In standby slight whistling. When operating loud whistling which is slightly low pitch. (X7010 tips)
  • Stripes on picture. Power supply whistling.
  • Dark screen. Correct scanning 70V on OC 124.
  • Correct picture. B.F. whistling.
