FT67 / OTTOVERSAND [TV]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for FT67 / OTTOVERSAND.
List of fault symptoms:
- Line tearing similar to "mouse teeth" on the picture.
- Incorrect colour. Yellow with flyback lines (no blue).
- PSU fails every few days. IC201, R216 and T201 are then defective.
- No vertical deflection.
- Store analog values (contrast, brightness) as standard/PP values.
- In HF reception sound is defective. AV ok.
- No channel storing.
- How to access control SERVICE mode to correct height and East/West.
- Adjusting the vertical amplitude (coarse and fine).
- White screen. Flyback lines.
- T2 in the vertical stage comes flying out after approx 30 mins. IC1 and C5 already replaced in this stage.
- Ref of T1, value of R5 and R6? (FT67 tips)
- Linearity distorted on top.
- Line tearing in dark sections of picture, mostly at VCR PB.
- Horizontal stripes in the top third of the picture. The upper linearity is limited.
- Horizontal size adjustment.
- Slight E/W fault, appliance switches off after a short time. Then loud chirping in Stand-by mode.
- CCU snow.
- Lines have shifted by approx 2mm each line.
- Bright picture. Flyback lines. (with circuit diagram extract)
- The voltage in the vertical stage is too high (instead of 17.3V it is over 40V). It is already measurable at diode D11 (BY299). The appliance runs occasionally if you start it up for a longer time (10 mins). (FT67 OTTOVERSAND repair tip)
- Picture has a green flyback line.
- Stuck in standby.
- Vertical line. at top. (OTTOVERSAND - FT67 information)
- Squealing noise. Full brightness on the picture.
- When switching on, short attempt to start up. Standby LED lights up.
- No start up, line BU ok. No standby light on, TEA2164 changed, fuse ok, power supply pin 2 TEA2164 ok.
- No channels over 48. Stations cannot be stored. Some stations in memory are ok.
- Spare part info: type of 1C1
- Shuts down (intermittently).
- Harsh ticking noise when increasing or lowering volume.
- Blank raster and controls do not work.
- Slight, distorted horizontal stripe on the picture. Line pairing visible. Hum runs through from top to bottom.
- Adjusting the brightness and contrast.
- PSU pulsates in 50Hz cycle. (OTTOVERSAND - FT67 information)
- Wavy lines when connecting to a muli-user aerial in a block of flats. Channels which lie close together distort the reception in BIII.
- One of the basic 3 colours is missing. (service info for OTTOVERSAND -FT67)
- Chirping when picture is bright.
- Vertically reduced picture.
- Colour adjustment.
- Green LED flickers in front panel, no EHT.
- Flyback lines. at top.
- Poor operation of the raster time base.
- Some (high) channels can't be adjusted.
- Sound fails when set is warm. Sometimes also left and right picture pinching.
- No picture content with a max adjusted G2 regulator.
- Grey picture with flyback lines.
- Picture is drawn in on bottom.
- Colour missing (for ex. red).
- Type of transistor T5.
- No picture. Audio OK .
- Horizontal band in picture, sound OK.
- On standby the PSU runs but after turning the set on, it only starts up for a moment and returns to standby.
- Linearity fault at the top of the picture.
- No tuner reception after repairing power supply. Ok in scart. Tuner voltage ok.
- Remains in standby, starts up only for a fraction of a sec then goes into standby again.
- Excessive horizontal size.
- Colour adjustment.
- No mono sound is present, stereo sound is slightly distorted.
- Adjusting the horizontal amplitude.
- No blue.
- Focus adjustment.
- Picture is like a negative when the contrast button is pushed.
- Memory command is acknowledged but not carried out. Transmitter symbol can be written but not stored.
- One colour missing.

- How to store channels.
- After switching on mains, appliance only ticks. (LOPT)
- Moves from channel over channel 42. Storing channels below channel 42 OK. No storing of channels over channel 42.
- No tuning.
- BU508A in the horizontal output stage was defective. After replacing, ticking from loudspeaker, appliance does not start up.
- Line BU (BU508A) S/C.
- Adjusting theoperating voltage.
- Ticking at switch on and the green LED may flicker.
- PSU doesn't oscillate.
- Chirping. Picture at max. brightness. High voltage crackling near the deflection unit.
- Reduced horizontal deflection.
- Vertical lines.
- Predominantly yellow. Picture and sound ok.
- No function via the RC. Operation on appliance is ok.
- E/W Pin cushion too large and E/W pin cushion too small adjustment.
- A colour is missing or strong striations and flags.
- Picture cuts out after a few mins. Sound and channel change ok. Difficulties at start up if TV is switched off.
- Line output stage does not oscillate correctly.
- Top half of the picture is ok, but the bottom half is bent with a white line in the centre.
- Spare part info: type of power supply transistor.
- End stageTRS T2 drop-out in vertical deflection.
- Line transformer whistles after 15-20 mins and a short time afterwards BU fails.
- Important problem in PSU.
- Setting the centering.
- BU508A defective. (FT67 tip from OTTOVERSAND)
- Line BU508 blows after a few minutes or after 2 or 3 hours operating.
- Does not start, standby ok. If you hold in place the On switch high voltage occurs and appliance hisses, after you release the switch, goes immediately to standby again.
- Picture shifted vertically. at top.
- Factory setting for tube A 63 NCQ 00X 08
- Power supply voltages are too low and only increase slightly if the "ON" switch on the control panel is held in.
- Horizontal centering adjustment with teletext.
- Horizontal centre adjustment.
- Snow. Picture appears after 1 min.
- Operating voltage adjustment.
- No audio and video IF.
- Black adjustment.
- Value of T15?
- Black balance adjustment.
- Slightly compressed picture on right.
- After approx 3 hours, goes into standby. Then can be started and continues running. (service info for OTTOVERSAND -FT67)
- Switches off by itself. after a few seconds.
- IC1 (TEA2164) is defective.
- The picture changes occasionally (varies).
- No picture, T2 (BD683) gets hot. At switch on the picture up to T2 gets so hot that the 17.5V fails. Picture has then disappeared and the voltage dropped to 3V.
- Occasionally goes to standby. Then can be switched on again.
- Stuck in standby. Short rustle of EHT at power on.
- Yellow screen with flyback lines. Hardly visible picture. Sound OK on all channels.
- Power supply pulsates. Very low secondary voltages.
- No video and audio IF.
- Test mode.
- Occasionally picture reappears after switching off with the RCU. (FT67 tips)
- Picture varies in brightness and is very dark. Picture gets lighter if contrast turned down.
- No or weak red, green or blue.
- Buzzing on sound mostly on channels 5, M6 and Canal Plus.
- E/W fault.
- Screen has unstable coloured bars. Picture is perfect via scart.
- No CRT heating.
- Brightness and contrast adjustment.
- Reduced horizontal size.
- White adjustment.
- Functions OK for a few days then picture becomes negative.
- Switches off by itself (after a while).
- Line BU destroyed when hot. (FT67 OTTOVERSAND repair tip)
- 9cm horizontal picture shift on right side. Picture ok in reception via scart.
- No picture. No sound. The PSU oscillates. No CRT heating.
- Hum in sound via RF. Picture OK. Picture and sound OK via scart.
- Blue picture. (service info for OTTOVERSAND -FT67)
- Line output stage transistor fails again after a short time.
- Picture is very distorted, horizontal deflection fault; line output stage oscillates incorrectly; appliance whistles and after approx 1 min switches to stand by.
- BU508A always fails.
- After operating for 3 hours renewed failure of the line BU.
- Red striations on the picture.
- S/C on the mains side.
- Linearity at top edge of picture cannot be adjusted ie pic. is tightly compressed at the top.
- No start-up.
- Sound is low and peak level distorted.
- When switching on the picture is dark then you can see a white horizontal line in the top half of the screen.
- No standby and start up indication.
- BU508A constantly becomes defective, picture shifted to the right.
- Cushion adjustment.
- Adjusting the white setting.
- No vertical deflection (intermittently).
- The PSU will not oscillate.
- No sound at RF (Multi-IF).
- Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
- Screen is red and has no picture content. On screen function is not visible.
- No mono. Stereo OK.
- Line BU blows after 3 hours.
- Black screen. No audio. OSD OK .
- Geometry adjustment.
- Adjusting the linearity.
- Appliance does not switch on. Standby is on. When attempting to switch on there is a short build up of high voltage.
- Poor synchronisation. Lines in picture (when cold).
- Picture centering adjustment.
- Fine red bar at bottom of screen. It appears on side of screen when power supply pot. is used.
- Vertical amplitude, coarse, vertical amplitude, fine adjustment.
- No picture. No audio.
- No functions.
- Picture is displaced to the bottom of the screen. Fault recedes when appliance warms up.
- Picture too small.
- Sound buzzing when picture background is white.
- Low audio. OK via SCART .
- Slight flyback lines in the top part of the picture.
- Vertical centre adjustment.
- Pincushion distortion adjustment.

- Transistor T2 type.
- TXT and OSD displaced to the left or right.
- Doesn't store or stores only after several attempts.
- No reception in upper channel range. Analog values and programs can not be stored. (service info for OTTOVERSAND -FT67)
- One colour missing. (No blue, red or green)
- Switches off by itself.
- No LED at start up. Low voltages. (FT67 tip from OTTOVERSAND)
- Reduced vertical size.
- E/W fault. Picture collapses.
- Horizontal centre adjustment.
- Dead.
- At start up, blows suddenly then stops.
- Vertical centre adjustment.
- Station storage (special channels) on some channel sites are suddenly no longer possible. After pressing Memory, station drifts.
- No raster. Sound and line transformer present.
- Inverted trapezium distortion, flickering in upper half of picture.
- No sound after inserting the station table, sound only reoccurs with stereo transmissions after blanking. With mono by switching over channels.
- Top quarter of picture is dark and pulled, if appliance is cold.
- IC1 blows.
- Picture is noisy and occasionally too small.
- Picture and sound OK but strong predominant green.
- PSU does not start. No starting attempt.
- TEA2164 is burnt.
- Occasionally picture reappears after switching off with the RCU.
- Value of resistor R15.
- T1 (BU 903) in the primary power supply fails repeatedly in different circumstances.
- Vertical interference lines on the left side of the picture.
- Jerky sound in HF and scart.
- EHT does not start up.
- Backing up in SERVICE mode.
- Set at full volume it is too quiet and a strong hum can be heard.
- Fails. Knock sensitive.
- RGB adjustment in Service Mode. (FT67 OTTOVERSAND repair tip)
- Linearity adjustment.
- No sound with mono transmissions.
- After pressing the mains switch and finally switching on with the remote control or the button on the appliance, sometimes there is no picture and no sound. You can hear the horizontal output stage functioning. (FT67 tip from OTTOVERSAND)
- Line is folded over, it is set to the wrong standard. Does not synchronise.
- Horizontal foldover.
- Attempts to start via RC but switches off. Standby OK.
- No sound at RF reception (Multi-IF). Mostly knock sensitive.
- The sound from one or both of the speakers crackles after operating for a longer time.
- Pin cushion.
