KVE2551D / OTTOVERSAND [TV]

List of fault symptoms:
- PSU ticking.

- No start up, only an attempt to start up then nothing. No sound or picture. Picture narrows before appliance goes completely dead.

- Loud rattle from deflection yoke.

- Vertical or overcurrent.

- The sound from the tuner signal is audible in the AV1, AV2 and AV3 mode.
- Turns itself to standby, mostly when warm. Flashes error code on LEDs. (KVE2551D tips)
- TXT in picture after two hrs.
- Power problem.
- No function from secction of TV receiver via SAT.
- Corrupted EEPROM and no TXT.
- Incorrect width.
- No picture. Standby LED lights up intermittently.
- Starts up then switches to protection. LEDs A and B flicker.
- Black screen via tuner. No sound. LED B blinks 3 times then LED A one time. OK via scart.
- Flyback lines. via RF output.
- No start-up.
- Stuck in standby (intermittently).
- Shuts down. intermittently.
- RC unit.
- Software programming problem. No operation of "user bank pages" available via teletext menu. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Vertical foldover. at bottom. (KVE2551D tips)
- Part number info: terminal board surround speakers.
- The volume level cannot be altered. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Whistle from centre speaker at min volume. Loud switching clicks at switch on/off.
- Faulty control of frame amplifier.
- Standby LED blinks 13 times when switched on error code.
- At switch-on LED flashes 13 times.
- No start-up. LED blinks .
- No channel storing.
- Shuts down. intermittently. LED blinks .
- Vertical IC (STV9379) fails.
- Goes into safety mode at switch-on. LED pulsates 13 times.
- Black screen (after a few minutes).
- Excessive horizontal size. E/W fault. when cold. Reduced horizontal size (after warm-up).
- RC unit.
- No picture. Switches to standby.
- Very bright picture (nearly white) with very weak chroma info. (picture attached)
- Only one channel displayed. When another is selected it shows for 2 to 3 secs and then returns to original channel.
- Resistor R609 has burnt.
- Trips twice then switches off.
- Horizontal noise bars and even no picture at the beginning.
- Enter service mode.
- Fine white lines and horizontal RGB lines at top of screen on approx 5-6cm, spaced 1cm apart. They do not disappear when hot or cold. Via test pattern in purity mode, whites can be seen perfectly.
- Protection mode, LED flashing 13 times.
- PSU pulsates. Standby LED flashes .
- When B LED flashes.
- No colour at switch on; grey scale starts to vary and picture turns bright magenta or green; eventually grey scale and colour return to normal. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Vertical error. Standby LED flashes 13 times.
- LED B blinks 13 times.
- Intermittent rushing noise on satellite sound.
- Tuner PLL fault. LED flashes 3 times.
- No picture except AV service mode.
- Intermittent crackle in the loudspeaker,. Picture is distorted or dark. Broadcasting station symbol is displayed.
- Service information. The rear cover must be square to the back of the set when fitting, or the speaker cables may foul the C board.
- No start-up (intermittently).
- Two inch wide strip on left hand side, also present when TXT selected.
- PSU switches two times, then red LED lights.
- Peak white raster with faint chroma info.
- Part number info: bezel assembly.
- Stuck in standby. LEDs A and B flashing.
- No function. Intermittent LEDs.

- Some programme presets are linked to one another.
- Horizontal fault for 10 mins after switch on.
- Excessive HT.
- Switches to standby (intermittently).
- Intermittent audio.
- Service information. The rear cover must be square to the back of the set when fitting, or the speaker cables may foul the C board.
- After switch on LEDs of audio channels A/B blink. After some time picture disappears as well (channels missing).
- Power supply fails as volume is increased.
- Low HV.
- 29" GX picture tube information.
- Picture appears and becomes blurred (overcontrolled). Appliance switches off and tries several times to start but then goes to protection mode with flashing LED.
- Starts up for a few secs then returns to standby. Lights A and B are flashing. EHT noise can be heard.
- At start up, Usys is 140V, then 60V.
- Line output transistor fails intermittently.

- Whistling from centre speaker at minimum volume and loud switching clicks when switching on and off.
- Protection mode activated. LED blinks .
- No picture. LED A flashes once, LED B flashes 13 times.
- Sound cuts out in all modes after 20-30 mins. Picture OK.
- Characters appear at random on OSD. Maybe flashes of green.
- Vertical collapse.
- Part number for surround and centre speakers.
- No picture (after a while).
- No reception. via tuner (when cold).
- No vertical deflection. Standby LED flashes .
- LED A flashes one time and then LED B 5 times, then again LED A one time, and so on. Intermittently picture and sound OK, then LED's flashing and snow.
- No audio. Popping noise at switch on.
- Noise bars in picture via RF and AV.
- No satellite operation.
- Stretched picture with poor linearity when cold. OK after 5 mins.
- Volume uncontrollable.
- Sound from left hand channel is missing.
- Set would select only ITV. If any other channel was tried it would be displayed for a couple of seconds then the set would revert to ITV. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Horizontal stripes. in the centre (after warm-up).
- Vol is reduced and becomes unstable and distorted after a few mins.
- Picture distorted when volume increases.
- No picture. No audio (after a few minutes).
- Random OSD characters appear on the screen for a few seconds (space invaders effect). (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- RC unit.
- Raster is too bright, some colour showing. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- No colour. Menu and OSB unstable.
- No audio (intermittently). No picture (intermittently). (KVE2551D tips)
- No colour when switching on in cold conditions. Colour may appear after some minutes. Constant picture with variable greyscale randomly. Colour varies from green to bright magenta. Colour OK after a while.
- No operation.
- Error codes.

- Switches to protection mode. after start-up. LED blinks .
- Pulsates three times at switch on, then no functions.

- To enable/disable teletext.
- Incorrect character display. Cyrillic characters in text mode.
- No colour in the VTR playback mode (PAL mode), especially with second generation copies. (with circuit diagram extract)
- No satellite reception.
- Shuts down (after a few minutes). Standby LED flashes .
- Intermittently picture disappears and piercing sound can be heard.
- Intermittently tripping at switch on and when channel changed.

- Works normally until channel is changes or aerial is disconnected. After that, sound cracking.
- Increasing sound volume over 1/3 of the scale results in picture side shaking.
- Distorted raster. Faulty colours.
