MSS300 / PACE [Sat /TV reception module]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for MSS300 / PACE.

List of fault symptoms:
  • "LNB short" message through know good feed.
  • Restore factory settings.
  • Partial horizontal streaks as if scrambled.
  • No decoder message and intermittent picture scrambling.
  • Picture drifts. Menu and channel idents OK. Picture from VCR scart OK.
  • PSU chirps and whistles.
  • Strong noise. Sound drop outs
  • PSU ticks. No left or right hand side audio output.
  • No response from RC control handset.
  • Dead, just ticking.
  • Very low LNB voltage. Power supply can be heard starting up.
  • Horizontal streaks on picture. PSU whistles.
  • No picture.
  • Stuck in standby.
  • Menu background colour changes to black and white.
  • Stripe disturbance and sound is interrupted.
  • No display at power-up for approx 30 seconds.
  • No functions. No display.
  • Fading fluorescent display.
  • Rubbish in display. Locks up.
  • Decoder fails when warm.
  • Swirling white dashed lines on picture.
  • No LNB voltage.
  • Vertical white lines on decoded channels.
  • Remains in vertical polarity.
  • "Card Invalid" message on picture.
  • Failure of D9.
  • Ok for first 30 mins then channel idents drift, decoder messages disappear and no decoding.
  • Blown fuse.
  • PSU ticks.
  • 50mm wide grain bar down centre of screen on some D2MAC programmes, when positioner is connected between receiver and decoder.
  • Stuck in standby with zeros in display. (PACE - MSS300 information)
  • Picture has retrace lines.
  • Blue screen. "NO SIGNAL" message on all channels.
  • After power failure no display function, otherwise perfect function.
  • No functions with external decoder.
  • Dead.
  • "LNB Short" message appears. (MSS300 tips)
  • No display.
  • No signal on blue background; audio muted. When blue background turned off, audio OK.
  • Card flap does not open when release button pressed.
  • No RF output.
  • No decoder messages. No on-screen channel idents. Tuning menu drifts to left.
  • Blue picture.
  • Blue screen with "no signal message".
  • Very poor picture.
  • No audio.
  • Picture is monochrome and rolling. (MSS300 PACE repair tip)
  • No decoder messages.
  • Intermittent scramble.
  • Lines in picture.
  • U1 S/C.
  • No on screen menu. Irregular characters in varying places on screen, or blank raster. LED flashing to indicate receiver in "MENU" mode.
