NV332EG / PANASONIC [Video recorder - VHS HiFi]

List of fault symptoms:
  • No test picture generator function.
  • No EE picture, only noise. (picture attached)
  • No FF or REW. PB is OK.
  • When switched on the take up spool rotates even without a cassette loaded. With a cassette inserted all tape modes work but no auto-stop when fully rewound.

  • No function, the capstan turns continuously also when switched off.
  • White noise in bottom half of picture.

  • Intermittent incorrect capstan speed. After approx half an hour capstan speed increases

  • Sometimes the video picture is only half visible and sometimes with interference.
  • No capstan lock out in PB. (NV332EG tip from PANASONIC)

  • No front panel function.

  • Channels 5-8 cannot be adjusted and there are lines in the picture.
  • When returning to PLAY from PAUSE, CUE or REV, picture is noisy, ok after several seconds.

  • During EE operation there is "moire" in the picture and during playback there is no colour.
  • Erratic channel changing. Wrong LEDs lights up.
  • Interference in sound and vertical interference in picture.

  • The lines fold over and sound oscillations appear.

  • There is a bad picture during picture search and freeze frame.

  • The capstan and cylinder motors run continuously, the sensor lamp is lit up. When the appliance is switched off the capstan runs faster. (picture attached)

  • Intermittent noisy picture.
  • The appliance does not wind, picture search works ok, takes all functions. The slide-in motor turns in the correct direction but then switches off. (picture attached)

  • The picture is snowy and noisy.
  • Head switching runs vertically through picture.
  • Intermittent lines in picture. Speed of cylinder varies.
  • Does not erase or possibly erasure of sound with breaks during record.

  • During recording the sound is too low.

  • When pause is operated during PB and afterwards PB again, the capstan motor runs too fast.

  • Occasionally the picture and freeze frame is very bad.

  • Channel one LED flashing and unable to change channels.
  • Unstable tuner.
  • Hum bar.
  • The sound is present during PB but missing during EE.

  • No sound, during PB there is sometimes crackling noise in parallel with white picture disturbance.
  • The channels 5 and 8 cannot be adjusted
  • There are bright lines in the picture.
  • Occasionally the lines fold over and there is sound oscillation.
  • No reel drive.
  • Displaced ghosting at top half inch of screen.
