TC2243 / PANASONIC [TV]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for TC2243 / PANASONIC.
List of fault symptoms:
- No RC functions. (with circuit diagram extract)
- The station indication does not work. (picture attached)
- IC1203 resets repeatedly.
- Dead. Buzzing noise from PSU.
- The picture disappears, is snowy and the appliance cannot be programmed. The storage is lost. (+ extract of circuit diagram)

- White picture with flyback lines.

- After fitting memory modification kit (XFMK 606001) the appliance will sometimes come on with 'standby' LED and one 'Bal' LED illuminated (when switched on from cold). (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Intermittently width will vary. Intermittently set goes off (trips). (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Intermittent flashes of colour.
- No function, or the remote control does not work. (with circuit diagram extract)

- Lack of width

- No raster.

- White image.
- No colour, black lines and the TXT is no longer correct.

- No sound. No sync.
- Low HT and squealing noise coming from power supply. (picture attached)
- Loss of memory.
- Excessive brightness with flyback lines.
- TXT does not respond to RC. (picture attached)
- Dead. No line drive. PSU makes a noise.
- The picture is too dark and the sound is low. (with circuit diagram extract)

- Raster is red or green. (with circuit diagram extract)

- After approx fifteen minutes, screen would go bright blue with flyback lines, then go off completely.
- The picture is intermittent, tuning goes off. (picture attached)

- Standby light on, high pitched screaming noise. HT low at approx 47v instead of 121v or 119v depending on screen size. (with circuit diagram extract)
- The picture disappears or the video text does not work.
- Set dead with a zinging noise coming from the power supply. (with circuit diagram extract)
- After approx 1 hour lines can be seen horizontally. (with circuit diagram extract)
- A line of text intermittently appears half an inch from the top.
- Tuning information will not store.

- There are lines in the picture, the TXT disappears or there are flash back lines and stops at TXT.

- Struggles to switch on and only manages to do so after many attempts.

- The video text does not function.

- When appliance is cold, rattling sound from the power supply trafo and thin horizontal lines in the picture. When appliance warm, then the rattling sound changes to a whistling sound, which disappears later and the thin lines also.

- No TXT.

- No sync. No sound.

- After switch on sometimes there is snow and no sound. No display. In fault conditions voltages present on the storage target.

- Line output transistor swings A1 voltage after being replaced.

- Set comes on for a brief time.
- Does not switch to TXT.

- Overloaded line output stage.

- Picture turns green when sound turned up.
- The video text does not function,the picture disappears.

- The appliance whistles but does not start up.

- Synchronisation is missing or weak.

- Dead set with zinging noise from power supply and ht voltage is ok.
- The remote control does not function, the appliance goes to standby, jumps to video or is intermittent after operating for some time. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Intermittent tuning, with loss of tuning and/or no search. (with circuit diagram extract)
- No picture, only snow. (picture attached)
- Sound and picture are missing, raster ok. (picture attached)
- No picture. No sound. Display shows "00".
- Sawtooth disortion in TT. Poor synchronisation.
- Purity error or 'Doming'. Cause: Scan coils are not seated firmly against 'Bell' of CRT (30AX CRT).
- No picture. Sound is normal. Either permanent or intermittent.
