CS8826 ICC335 / PATHEMARCONI [TV]

supplies the following faults for CS8826 / PATHEMARCONI.
List of fault symptoms:
- Trapezoid picture.
- No sound or picture. Display ok.
- FBT whistles and BU 208D blows with BU806.
- Variation of frame stability or intermittent pulsating.
- Picture is shifted to bottom of screen. (PATHEMARCONI - CS8826 information)
- No regulation of TP05.
- Insufficient line amplitude.
- Remains in standby. No regulation. 110V ok.
- No start-up.
- No start up. Stand-by LED is on.
- Line BU cuts out after a week or more. 143V ok, CTV works normally.
- Weak distorted sound. Fault is on board AM3201.
- E/W cushion problem, LG02 becomes burning hot. (CS8826 tips)
- Value of RP14.
- E/W pincushion cannot be regulated correctly.
- The whole of the screen is purple.
- Insufficient width. Raster fault.
- Scarcely any brightness.
- No muting.
- The height and width are not sufficient. Power supply is defective.
- LG02 heats up. U4 At 250V. Everything has been changed.
- Blurry picture.
- Display flashes, no HT on tube. When unsoldering pin 7 from flyback transformer, horizontal white bar and frying noise.
- Fuse FP01 blows after one or two days.
- Severe echo on picture.
- The picture can hardly be seen. The signal is incorrect on 23/MTS4000.
- No light.
- Scanning problem. Vertical line on the screen. Voltages: U1 145V, U2 12.5V, U3 18V, U4 85V, U5 7V. After 5 minutes, smoke from LG02.
- Noise from line transformer and flyback lines.
- BU208D only holds for 2 months.
- How to store channels. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Reduced picture then total fault with display. After changing TL02 and RP14, functions for 3 hrs then TL02 blows again with FP02. RP14 ok.
- No function and no display. The very high voltage starts up by short circuiting TP21.
- No E/W correction. Picture is too large.
- Picture becomes dark or occasionally purple.
- Lacks width and flyback line.
- No sound at all but the BF amplifier is correct.
- TL01 blows.
- Intermittently dark screen, also in RGB. Sound ok. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- The appliance starts up one time out of three. If the start up is ok, the line transformer crackles and RL25 burns out at once.
- No 24V voltage or picture at the bottom of the screen. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Line amplitude is too weak and the lines are wavy.
- Stuck in standby.
- PSU and display are pulsating.
- No vertical scanning. Visible line scanning.
- Front panel LED flickers at switch on.
- Value of safety resistor RF14 on HT line.
- The top part of the picture has shifted.
- Interference lines at top of screen.
- No vertical deflection.
- Horizontal tearing only in scart. IV03, IV03, CV63 have been replaced. E/W cushions are ok. The fault occurs especially if the picture contains a lot of white.
- No 7V (U5), HF or display.
- RL 18 (3.9K) burns out after working for a few seconds. THT starts up, but however is insufficient.
- Very bright screen with flyback lines after 5 minutes operation.
- TL02 (BU208D) has a short circuit (double pulse). (CS8826 tips)
- No audio. No picture.
- E/W fault.
- Vertical shift and slight foldover at top of picture. Goes into safety when vertical adjustment and alignment are used. (CS8826 PATHEMARCONI repair tip)
- The appliance hums and the picture shrinks.

- No EHT but display present.
- Flyback transformer whistles. Line- and raster scanning sometimes fail.
- Height and width fault. The U1 voltage is incorrect.
- Line spacing at top of screen which goes downwards when TV is left on.
- No EHT, voltages ok. No drive on base of line transistor.
- Raster problem. Picture shifted to the top of the screen. Poor vertical synchronisation. ESM 740 ok, 21V ok, DL20 ok. It is impossible to adjust the appliance.
- Picture with one predominant colour even in black and white.
- Video is very poor. Picture is hardly visible.
- How to change a deflector which is glued in place on 4 points on the CRT. (PATHEMARCONI - CS8826 information)
- Red colour appears faintly for an instant. Flyback lines.
- Picture out of alignment towards the top.
- No regulation.
- Vertical interference bands appear on both sides of the screen.
- No function, no display. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Stereo models with amplifier card with transistors are very weak on a single output. Control must be at max to just to be able to hear. Audio outputs are ok on scart socket.
- No sound or picture. EHT is correct.
- Green screen and flyback line.
- No picture but rainbow on both sides of screen. Sound ok.
- Line desynchronisation of the picture after a moment.
- Excessive height. Amplifier can be adjusted but vertical alignment does not allow correct positioning of picture in order to increase its size.
- Channel storage inactive. Keeps on returning to the previously adjusted channel.
- Picture folds down. Slight width fault.
- Blue stain at bottom left of screen. Impossible to remove by external degaussing.
- The picture shifts towards the right.
- No Y signal.
- No sound or picture. Scanning and display are ok.
- Picture content does not change when changing channel.
- Display and power supply pulsate.
- When light and contrast are high the picture is still too dark. When they are at a middle value, there is no picture.
- Interwoven lines at the top of the screen.
- Picture is too wide. No East/West correction.
- When the G2 is pressed an E/W fault occurs.
- No vertical scanning. TED01 makes a whistling noise. Smoke coming from a coil with a core on the FBT.
- No picture or snow. Black screen. Sound OK. Everything OK when connecting a VCR via scart.
- Little or no video.
- Brightness and contrast are weak. Crushing on peak whites.
- Remains in stand by. RP14 is defective.
- The picture shifts towards the top of the screen.
- Fuse blows after 1 or 2 days.
- E/W cushion problem. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Eliminating a possible BF humming.
- Panel faults. The functions are the wrong way round, eg sound instead of light. After replacing the IC, everything is ok but functions at maximum for 2 months.
- Goes into protection every second.
- Occasionally no sound or picture and the memory is erased. The RAM functions correctly. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Incorrect line centering and there is a black band on the right of the screen.
- Insufficient width with flyback lines.
- No picture or sound. Display ok. (CS8826 tips)
- 1400V on line BU which blows after a few secs.
- Appliance will not start up. Stand by light is on.
- The picture is dark and faded.
- The raster occasionally cuts out.
- TL02 (BU208D) and H8 = 1300v have a short. No 1000V voltage.
- Line BU blows at start up. E/W, TDA 4610 OK.
- Poor raster synchronisation.
- No 24V or picture at the bottom of the screen.
- Insufficient E/W correction.
- The picture flickers.
- TP01 (BU807) becomes hot and shorts.
- Flyback lines and the screen is red.
- After repositioning of frame, picture is shifted towards bottom with excessive line width. Black bars on picture. (service info for PATHEMARCONI -CS8826)
- TP01 BU807 heats up and short circuits.
- Severe hum in loudspeaker during a programme and via scart. Voltages and loudspeakers ok.
- No sound or picture. Very high voltage is correct.
- When switched on picture is half the size vertically, small black lines over the whole of the screen then little by little everything returns to normal in about one min.
- All the secondary voltages of the line stage transformer are lower than normal.
- Sound is ok. No picture, tube filament is not supplied with power.
- Complete shift towards bottom of frame. No picture. When RL52 is removed, reduced picture at bottom of screen.
- LG02 heats up. Picture OK. (PATHEMARCONI - CS8826 information)
- Black bar at bottom of screen.
- No picture at the top part of the screen.
- There are traces of red, but no real red colour.
- The channels run through backwards.
- PSU pulsates.
- Noisy signal in LF.
- The appliance is locked in stand-by.
- White screen with flyback lines. FBT ok, smoke from RP17 in 21V. (service info for PATHEMARCONI -CS8826)
- No contrast or light.
- E/W fault. PG01 MINI. PG02, PG03 do not function. PG01 in normal position. Power supply trips. Abnormal voltage on TDA4610 pin 3 (25V instead of 9.5V).
- Picture correct but shifted towards top of screen. Impossible to correct with vertical position control. Picture compression when insisting on using this control and 5cm missing at bottom of screen.
- The picture amplitude is too high.
- Display flickers at start up. FBT tries to establish itself but trips regularly. Fault seems to be caused by incorrect vertical sync. FBT ok.
- Vertical scanning is defective. Scanning on half of the screen. Synchronisation is defective.
- The appliance cuts out. Half of the picture appears if the safety is mode is removed.
- Black bar at the bottom of the picture and unstable raster.
- Picture with long horizontal streaks according to the content.
- Screen is very blurred with a rainbow effect but without picture. Frame line scans to the outside of the screen.
- The appliance goes into safety mode.
- Little contrast and light. (CS8826 PATHEMARCONI repair tip)
- The screen is multi-coloured and the quality is incorrect.
- Very bright horizontal bar measuring a few cms with sharp whistling.
- The sound hums if the low pitch is raised.
- Shrill noise and unstable raster.
- Varicap voltage does not vary and remains at 33V. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Safety resistor RL51 burns and resistor (39R/2W) gets very hot.
- Green screen and flyback line.
- The battery power supply.
- E/W fault. EHT tripping.
- Variation of brightness everywhere but on the test pattern. (PATHEMARCONI - CS8826 information)
- Model C63 PMC4. Inverted function of keyboard keys. There is sound in the place of search. Replace IC HD44860 A27.
- The appliance does not work in LL. (CS8826 PATHEMARCONI repair tip)
- Secondary voltage and EHT low. HT voltage pulsates quickly, slight picture appears, EHT ok, BU command ok, without a load
pulsating follows when loaded. At start up RP14 and DG05 are defective.
- E/W cushion fault. PG01, PG02 and PG03 do not work.
- The top part of the picture is too bright.
- FP02 blows, TP18 defective. If you under supply TV whistles and U3 (21V) = 34V. No BU base command signal.
- BU208D and RP14 blown at switch on.
- Height and width fault and there is no adjustment possible.
- RP14 burnt and B208D defective. RP14 is defective.
- E/W pincushion distortion.
- Transistor TP01 (BU806) overheats. Defective in 1 hr, however 145V ok and regulation seems ok.
- Insufficient line amplitude. Picture bleeding at top.
- Correct operation but the top half of the picture is fuzzy after a divergence of the colour beams.
- Difficulties tuning channels. Dotted chroma and sound is poor and low. Ok in scart. (PATHEMARCONI - CS8826 information)
- PR1 scrolls continually on display. No sound or picture but brightness OK. No RCU or control panel functions.
- E/W amplifier problem. Coil heats up extremely. When TDA4610 is changed line amplitude is normal and LG02 does not heat up.
- Harsh noise and the rasters are unstable.
- Noise signal in low frequency.
- The line amplitude is too weak and the lines are wavy.
- The screen is white.
- Picture shifts upwards in the screen.
- Lack of brightness. (CS8826 PATHEMARCONI repair tip)
- Sound not synchronized with picture. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- Line centralization is incorrect and black bar on right side of screen.
- White screen with flyback lines. Sound is correct.
- BU208D goes into short circuit. The display on the front flashes. The FBT, CL12, CL03 and the BU806 have been changed.
- The transformer VHT whistles. Intermittent line and raster scanning.
- No picture scanning.
- RP14 and BU 208 D blow at start up after operating normally for a fortnight.
- The screen is continuously scanned.
- Torn picture at the top and bottom parts of the screen.
- E/W pincushion problem. LG02 gets burning hot.
- The appliance will not start up.
- Tuning problem.
- No contrast possible.
- RP14 cuts out occasionally.
- Faulty characters/segments on display.
- No contrast. (CS8826 tip from PATHEMARCONI)
- The FP02 fuse blows at switch on and TP01 (BU806) short circuits. TP01/02/04/05/06 and DPT42/43/12 have been changed. Same fault occurs and occasionally the TV starts up well.
- At switch on channel no. appears but no HT noise. It takes approx 30 secs for sound and picture to come. Then everything is ok.
- Continuous noise for approx one hour. Everything else ok, brightness, contrast, etc. Noise is strong enough to disturb listening.
- Irregular white band in middle of screen. EHT whistling.
- Two horizontal zones moving slowly (as if connected to a mains induction) and which produce a Venetian blind effect.
- Variation of the shade.
