2SB3203 / PHILIPS [Video recorder - VHS HiFi]

  • Brake does not function when winding. Tape loops at beginning after REW.

  • Lound noise from mechanism. When ejecting tape, lift loads again and ejects by itself several times.

  • Occasionally, after cassette has been introduced, pre-loading does not occur. Cassette has to be ejected again. If PLAY button is pressed, appliance switches off. It can be restarted only after disconnecting mains.

  • No deck functions when cassette inserted.
  • Slow lace up. No eject.
  • No REC function from standby position.
  • Locks up during REW.

  • Slow or no loading
  • Drive is blocked.
  • No eject. Does not accept cassette when manually wound; PB and REC OK.
  • Defective driver, clatters, accepts no tape.
  • Cassette is ejected and is immediately retracted. This way it gets stuck once in a while. PSU must be pulled in for turning off.
  • Does not load tape.
  • Chassis does not respond to anything. Display OK.
  • Head sticking (binding).
  • Correct adjustment of the clock frequency on MDC board. (2SB3203 tips)
  • PSU tripping even in standby.
  • No brake (supply spool) at end of REW or FFRWD.
  • Back tension arm does not return to correct position when unloading.
  • New compartment construction WD22.
  • Ejects cassette after one second in PB.
  • Tape sticks during forward and rewind and occasionally during PB according to the type of cassette.

  • Drive does not work correctly and is noisy.
  • Cassette is briefly accepted, laces up a little bit, then fast forwards briefly and cassette is ejected again.
  • No REW. Goes into CUE instead of FF.
  • No tuning. Black screen.
