EV400F / SABA [Video recorder - VHS HiFi]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for EV400F / SABA.
List of fault symptoms:
- No display. No audio. (SABA - EV400F information)
- FB044 is defective.
- Drops out in PB after loading.
- No REW. No FF.
- Searches for channels continuously.
- Primary PSU does not oscillate.
- Tape breaks at end of REW.
- Option codes.
- No display.
- No function. Cassette is loaded and drum turns correctly. (SABA - EV400F information)
- No REW and FF at certain tape positions. (SABA - EV400F information)
- Saturated picture.
- No start-up. No functions.
- Zener diode DP067 (6.2V; MA2062A) has O/C.
- No REW and remaining time search. No REC. PB OK.
- Stops during PB, especially in LP.
- Cassette is laced up in appliance and can not be removed. Child lock is activated. (SABA - EV400F information)
- Does not load tape.
- Decoder constantly or intermittently on display.
- Shuts down. in PB. Loads OK. .
- Loads tape then ejects immediately.
- No display or too dark.
- Poor drum servo.
- 16:9 detection despite 4:3 programme from VCR.
- 12V missing.
- Accepts tapes while making strange noises.
- Sound warbles in PB.
- No start-up.
- Turns off after approx 3 sec in Play or FF/REW mode.
- Occasionally IR receiver does not function.
- Mutes 1 and 2 active. (service info for SABA -EV400F)
- Does not accept tape. (EV400F tips)
- Interference in tuner picture by some programs.
- In REW, appliance goes to STOP after approx 5 secs. During REC appliance also goes to STOP.
- Intermittently stops. No RC functions.
- Excessive height of OSD.
- Blue lines in PB.
- No picture (in PB).
- Dead.
- Does not load the cassette or cassette is loaded once out of twice only after mains reset.
- Display indication in Italian. (EV400F tips)
- Retracts cassette too slowly and ejects it again.
- Shows a cassette is present when there is none or random functions.
- No front panel function. RC OK. (SABA - EV400F information)
- Enter service mode.
- TP020 becomes defective.
- Dark picture.
- VCR runs for a short time then stops during PLAY.
- PSU failure.
- No eject.
- Whistling from PSU.
- No OSD.
- No drum/head rotation. (EV400F tips)
- No colour.
- Output channel adjustment.
- No display. in standby. LED is red .
- No functions (intermittently).
- Poor PAL/SECAM detection.
- Picture size varies with picture content. (service info for SABA -EV400F)
- Moire only on one channel.
