FF502 / SABA [TV (Standard)]

supplies the following faults for FF502 / SABA.
List of fault symptoms:

- Dead. LED blinks .

- Hum on picture and noisy chopper transformer.
- Blank screen with coloured dots/interference and possible smell of over heating.
- Display flashes in STAND BY and the TV does not start up, even with the RCU. Occasionally it starts up when you activate P and VOL, and press On/Off several times.

- Flickering on channel 60 and on special channels.

- After changing the CRT base, there is HT flashover which appears as crackling sound and flickering picture. (FF502 tips)
- Power supply BU blows after 10 secs. Correct power supply attempted with line transformer load disconnected.
- How to set up SERVICE mode when appliance remains in low range.
- Double picture. Picture shifted 1mm.
- When switching on snow with moiré on all stations. It seems as if the stations are way out. After running for a short time picture is ok.

- White screen, no picture. At start up displays 1 and after 5 secs 88, no function possible 5V OK, 20V OK.

- Red coloured spot at the bottom left of the screen.

- Set blocks (operation via RC or via user control only possible, after the set has been switched off and on again by mains switch.

- Switches to protection mode. after start-up.
- Remote control operation problem. Microprocessor memory and new quartz. New remote control. Remote control information reception on the microprocessor.
- No video signal. Sound and TXT display OK.
- After working for a while, RVB lines appear at the top of the screen. (SABA - FF502 information)
- Black screen. All the voltages are correct. The sound, line transformer and the G2 are ok but the screen remains black.
- Powers up, LED flashing once.
- Monochrome picture when AUX selected on IMC receiver.
- Sound is lost intermittently.

- U system voltage table.

- Service info: Contrast- and beam current adjustment after replacing chroma video module.
- Channels have shifted (test picture on channel 33, channel no. 42 displayed).
- Failure to switch on from standby unless programme "UP" button is used.
- No audio.

- Moire effect in the colour areas.
- Appliance functions in VHF but not in UHF. Snow is present.
- No switch on. When switching off with mains switch LED switches on then off.

- Brightness varies until there is a dark picture.

- The sound cuts out when warm.

- When switching on with RCU, appliance does not react unless you are approx 1m away from it.

- Intermittently switches off ten consecutive times or just once. Mostly switches on again automatically. No LEDs lit when switching off.

- Maladjusted convergence on the top quarter of the picture.

- Power supply goes into safety mode. (picture attached)
- When TV is switched on in standard G, standard cannot be modified. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Pulsates once with line transformer then line BU blows and power supply pulsates twice. When line transformer starts up for the first time, arcing between deflector and tube.
- Power supply doesn't start up.
- Receives no HF signals. Tape switch over is not possible.

- Goes into safety 3 times.

- Sound distorted when volume increased.

- Teletext graphics are incorrect with black bars down the screen.
- No EHT or power supply when switched on. 7V=6.3V.
- In cold state of the television receiver, the thyristor DL21 (ESM740G) in the vertical stage may not switch on. (with circuit diagram extract)

- Lines from top to bottom of screen.

- Remains in PAL when cold.

- Colour cuts out occasionally.
- Programming impossible but responds in SERVICE mode.
- The power supply blocks.
- No colour in PB from a Ferguson FV26D VCR when VCR is positioned under the TV.
- Various breakdowns due to U1=7V.
- The display indicates 88.

- No Canal Plus decoding.

- Resistor RP01 on the power supply module burns.

- Sharp picture but negative and pale. Service mode OK.
