CEP2584 / SANYO [TV]

List of fault symptoms:
  • No picture. Audio OK .
  • Vertical folover at bottom and insufficient height. Approx 20cm stripe on centre of screen.
  • PSU switching transistor fails at start-up.

  • Excessive brightness. Audio OK .
  • Fast hiccup when connecting TV. LED flashes.

  • Bright raster. Audio OK .
  • Corrupted data.

  • White screen. Flyback lines.
  • Unstable picture. Difficulty in tuning. OK with scart.
  • Mains fuse blown.
  • SERVICE mode:
  • Slow response to channel change, takes 20-30 secs to change.
  • Doesn't function even if standby LED lights up. When pressing mains switch, attempts to start up but goes to standby.
  • No raster.
  • Switches to standby. Squealing noise.
  • Blank raster, sound OK. OK if used with Scart input from VCR.
  • Vertical collapse. (CEP2584 tips)
  • No picture, no sound, just snow when tuning selected.
  • Excessive horizontal size. Pincushion distortion.
  • No audio.
  • Starts up, functions for a minute and immediately disconnects, remaining in standby.
  • White streaks.
  • R653 continues to fail.
  • Reduced vertical size.
  • No vertical deflection.
  • Lines in picture. at top.
  • No function. Standby LED OFF. Pressing Standby, cracking from PTC.
  • Dead.
  • Clock flashing O S G text clock OK.
  • Switching FET (BUZ90A) defective.
  • E/W fault.
  • No function. No red LED.
  • No picture. No sound. Rattles.
  • No HT or tube heaters.
  • No E/W correction.
  • Enter service mode.
  • Red, green and blue flyback lines.
  • Pincushion distortion. 5cm field collapse on each screen edges.
  • No start up. Fast tripping.
  • Very dark and greyish picture.
  • Unable to switch out of standby when cold.
  • How to call up SERVICE mode.
  • Q600 blown up. (CEP2584 SANYO repair tip)
  • Shuts down (intermittently).
  • Black and white picture at switch on from cold. After 15 mins colour OK.
  • No picture.
  • A few colour lines on top of picture.
  • Snow in E-E.
  • Attempts to start up, but does not succeed and switches to standby.

  • Tuning drifts.
  • No horizontal or vertical deflection.
