151825 / SBR [TV]

supplies the following faults for 151825 / SBR.
List of fault symptoms:
- Brightness varies suddenly.
- Occasionally black and white or stripy picture.
- Foldover at bottom of screen with a black part.
- After replacing memories, TV ok but erratic sound and brightness when appliance goes into standby by RC and is then switched on by RC. Everything ok when switched off from front panel. (SBR - 151825 information)
- TEA1039 blows at start up.
- Normal sound, picture present but with significant moire effect which disappears after 10 to 15 secs.
- Dark screen. Line transformer ok. Picture on scart. (service info for SBR -151825)
- Picture trembling according to its content.
- Power supply starts up then stops suddenly. Impossible to start up again.
- If switched off by RC standby LED switches off after 3 secs. and power supply cuts out. Switch on is then only possible by front panel switch while simultaneously pressing any programme button on RC. If switched off by front panel switch all ok. (151825 tip from SBR)
- Moire and venetian blind effect at switch on via tuner or scart.
- At switch on slight hum for 3 secs. in loudspeaker then no sound or picture. Channel indication ok.
- Vertical linearity problems.
- When pressing the memory button, the channel to be stored is lost and the front adjustment goes back into place, as well as the volume adjustments if it is manipulated.
- Smoke from resistor 3320 at switch on.
- Frizzy vertical lines (sawtooth effect). The lines may scroll from the top to the bottom or vice versa.
- Occasionally appliance stops and starts up again. TEA1039, CNX, power supply BU, line power BU, TR6676 have already been replaced. (151825 tips)
- No sound and picture via tuner. Sound level blocks.
- With a test pattern, white flash with flyback lines at start up then fluttering at the white level, then ok. G2 voltage increases during these flashes. Same on the picture.
- When pressing the On/off switch, red light lights up for 3-4 secs then goes out.
- Curling or small thin horizontal lines on the picture.
- Audio fades (intermittently).
- Trips from time to time and in shock conditions. Solder joints are ok.
- Incorrect line spacing. Venetian blind effect.
- People contour or horizontal lines are hatched.
- Frizzy lines on screen when cold.
- Reduced horizontal size. (service info for SBR -151825)
- At start up display shows anything and sometimes memory is lost.
- Insufficient EHT.
- Occasionally picture vibrates and EHT whistles excessively.
- Horizontal stripe.
- All programmes are lost.
- Audio module transistor blows after a month.
- Corrective maintenance of the PSU.
- Value of voltages on the CNX.
- Picture jumps particularly when cold. Line hooking. Filtering and voltages ok.
- Does not always start up and occasionally begins to flash during operation.
- No picture.
- No sound, no picture. Only the light comes on. Resistor 3220 68 ohm burns.
- The appliance cuts out when cold or after a few hours. Power supply transformer TEA1039, BUT11, CNX62 have already been changed.
- BU508A blows after 1 or 2 days.
- BY blows or heats up too much.
- No start-up.
- When the TV channel is changed the sound suddenly increases.
- Deprograms and displays 51 or something else intermittently when starting up from standby.
- Power supply oscillates then cuts out.
- Flyback raster at switch on on the whole of the screen then occasionally disappears and comes back again before disappearing again after approx 20 secs.
- Black screen.
- Excessive picture width and no adjustment possible. No E/W. Voltages ok.
- Picture foldover at the bottom of the screen. Elongated at the top.
- Very dark picture and one colour is missing. Colour signals very weak and the red square wave signal is missing. Picture flashes.
- Trips (intermittently).
- Intermittent white flash especially when cold. Dark picture. G2 insufficient to adjust brightness.
- At start up very unstable picture and hum in sound then everything ok after a few mins.
- No vertical synchronisation (intermittently).
- Occasionally picture jitter. Vertical deflection seems the cause as bar runs through occasionally and picture is distorted at bottom of screen a few mins after switch on.
- The power supply stops after working for a few minutes. (this is not 6676 BC 328).
- No colour. after a while. (151825 tip from SBR)
- No sound. Loudspeaker ok.
- In standby LED goes off after a few mins. Only starts up by switch.
- When changing picture the light reduces then returns to normal with another change of setup.
- Transistor 6420 (BF859) trips.
- Black bars.
- Significant curling on vertical lines. Capacitor 2304 (line driver power filtering) has been changed.
- Flashing display.
- Picture foldover on 3cm or 4cm at bottom of screen.
- At start up some channels go out of tune but not all at the same time. From then on difficult to memorize them.
- R3320 becomes defective after 1 hour of operation.
- Poor sandcastle signal on output of pin 17 of the TDA 2579N5. The signal given by the oscilloscope is the line signal.
- Significant moire with venetian blind effect.
- 1cm waves on picture.
- Line distortion and raster according to picture content.
- Flickering picture (when cold).
- Distorted picture.
- Excessive line amplitude, adjustment ok, BU508 blows after operating for a short time.
- Comes on for a short time.
- There is too much EHT when starting up. Flash on the screen.
- Switches off by itself.
- White horizontal lines at top of picture.
- No function, display 12. (151825 tip from SBR)
- TEA1039 becomes O/C after 3 weeks.
- BU508 blows at start up. Power supply seems ok, 160V without a load and 145V under load with 100W lamp. (service info for SBR -151825)
- Flickering picture.
- Impossible to change the standard. MP locks. (151825 tips)
- Streaky vertical lines and face outlines.
- No channel storing.
- Line BU (BU508A) blows immediately.
- Display flashes , noise in the sound and darker bars over the entire screen.
- Top third of the picture is distorted and foldover on the bottom third. Sound ok.
- Fuse blows at switch on.
- No start-up from standby.
- No sound, no picture, no front panel. A slight initiation audible from power supply at switch on.
- Switches off by itself (after warm-up).
- Power supply stops completely when appliance is operating.
- Line spacing and strong moire.
- Vertical lines are frizzy. Very visible when cold then improvement noticed.
- Excessive horizontal size.
- Poor focus.
- Power supply modification (valid for a module with 90 degrees only).
- BU508 heats up after working for a few hours. CD signal seems ok.
- Line BU508A heats up.
- Driver transformer 5322 collapses near BC337 which heats up.
- At start up veiled picture and small fine black bands move up the screen. Picture improves when warm.
- Edges of picture are wavy.
- E/W fault.
- TEA1039 blows after 1 or 2 days.
- Picture shakes depending on picture content. Begins to fail.
- At start up PR21 on the display. Vertical linearity fault.
- No power supply of TEA1039 in the PSU. (service info for SBR -151825)
- BUT 11A (BT line) fails.
- Intermittent flash of light.
- Curling on the picture outlines.
- Control panel does not work. No display. Picture is ok. Microprocessor has already been replaced but with no result.
- Flash and brief EHT drop out.
- Spontaneous channel switch-over. Sometimes picture becomes B/W. Appliance starts up by itself from standby.
- The fuse 1600 blows when starting up. Good BUT 11. Good capacitor 2609, 2610, 2605. The diode 6655 is correct.
- Lights up on key 29. Does not always respond to the codes of the RCU which is not defective.
- No sound, no picture, front panel does not light up. A slight motion can be heard from power supply at switch on.
- Very dark picture on a blue background. No brightness adjustment. Sound ok. Picture disappears if G2 pressed.
- Screen lights up briefly when selecting stop. No LED.
- Reduce horizontal amplitude after 1 hour and BU508 blows.
- Dead.
- Snowy picture on one half of the screen. This also occurs with scart and without the aerial. Earth has been checked. Sound is ok. Voltages are ok.
- Power supply BU and fuse blow at switch on.
- Canal Plus becomes black and white with decoder.
- Loss of channel memory.
- Fuse I600 blows at start up and BUT11 is destroyed.
- Very distorted and unstable picture. Incorrect video.
- Unstable frame with distorted picture for 5cm at bottom edge. Canal Plus is extremely unstable. (151825 SBR repair tip)
- At switch on brightness varies quickly then is normal when TV is warm. G2 voltage ok, power supply voltage ok.
- Displays 51 or another no. intermittently when starting up from standby and occasionally deprograms.
- Colour prevailing and the power supply hums on picture.
- Line BU508A defective. Power supply pulsates after replacement. Power supply ok.
- Picture jitters. (151825 SBR repair tip)
- R3328 burnt.
- Trips (when cold).
- Shuts down (after warm-up).
- Pincushion effect on right and left edges of screen.
- Horizontal size varies. Knock sensitive.
- Slight crackling of LF in standby.
- Smoke from resistor (150K) in E/W module. E/W diodes ok (service info for SBR -151825)
- 175V instead of 110V on collector of E/W correction 6420. R3462 heats up and BF859 blows.
- Picture shakes vertically and the contrast varies.
- Picture too wide, wide horizontal amplitude. You do not see the M6 sign.
- Foldover of picture at bottom of screen over a width of approx. 5cm, producing a significant vertical linearity fault (head is very long). Also in middle of screen is a fine, intense white bar.
- BU blows every 2 or 3 days.
- Defective line transistor after 5 to 10 days. The IC, transistors and capacitors have been changed but the fault persists.
- Incoherent display.
- BU blows at start up. Line frequency is ok. Power supply voltage is ok. Very high voltage is ok.
- No horizontal deflection. Display OK .
- Cycles on/off. (service info for SBR -151825)
- No function after a slight volt-rise. Fuses, TEA, CNX, diode bridge, resistors, capacitors, transistors and BUT ok.
- At start up the picture has dominant blue and green areas with flyback lines and slight moire then the screen goes black.
- Start up ok after power cut. Does not switch on again if switched off from standby. LED lights up for 2 secs then switches off.
- Power supply blocked.
- Fuse and power supply BU blow immediately at start up.
- BU508 blows every fortnight.
- FBT BU fails after a few hrs or days.
- Line BU goes S/C every 2 or 3 days.
- At start up very unstable picture and hum in sound then everything ok after a few mins.
- Dead (after a few seconds).
- Fault in the 143V regulation.
- R3462 on the East/West circuit fails (100%).
- Impossible top open memory.
- White horizontal lines at top of picture.
- Corrective maintenance of the line scanning. (151825 tips)
- G2/focus pot catches fire.
- R3462 burns, TR6420 heats up.
- Hum in loudspeaker in standby. (SBR - 151825 information)
- Pulsating in time base. Connector 15G disconnected, power supply ok.
- Very strong moire. (151825 tips)
- Secondary power supply at 50V instead of 143V with hum. Display ok.
- Horizontal amplitude slightly less on right side. 1cm of picture missing.
- Picture is flickering very fast. on some channels. Fault reduces a few mins after start up.
