5601 / SBR [TV 56 (52) cm picture]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for 5601 / SBR.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Picture height is only 10cm. 10cm line from picture centre. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • TXT lines are visible in the upper part of the picture. Approx 3cm away from the upper edge of the picture (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Line output transistor T 446 fails repeatedly.

  • Picture rolls in at the bottom or a line appears in top third of screen.
  • The sound controls unevenly.
  • No function, a sluggish gurgling sound is present in the power supply. (picture attached)
  • Purity problems.
  • Line collapse, lack of width or small picture.

  • E/W error. Picture width is too small. Controls do not react.
  • Striations or thin flyback lines.

  • Jumps from channel 1 to 3.
  • Dead. 95V supply 15V.
  • Unstable frame control or frame jitter or frame synchronisation missing or lack of height.
  • Flyback lines in picture.
  • Vertical flybacks visible at the top edge of the TXT stations.
  • Vertical picture shifted to left.

  • Vertical collapse.

  • One colour missing (dark picture).

  • Contrast and/or brightness do not function.

  • Connection of a loop system to the TV.
  • Curved sides, plus another possible line fault.
  • K9/K11 band switch.
  • Intermittent North/south fault, in cold conditions ok.
  • BU208 fails continuously.
  • The picture becomes crooked on the lower side.
  • Horizontals at top and bottom curve into the middle. (5601 tip from SBR)
  • Either red, green or blue colour difference signal is missing.

  • No tuning on some channels.

  • Insufficient saturation.

  • Top and bottom horizontals curve into the middle plus colour fault.
  • Blue convergence.

  • Appliance pulsates
  • Contrast control does not function or is unstable.
  • Convergence changes.
  • Afterglow fleck at switch off.

  • Gulps occasionally.
  • Bowed horizontals.
