6631 / SBR [TV]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for 6631 / SBR.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Safety test after repair.
  • When switching on the TV is ok. After a few minutes when adjusting the saturation it moves frequency.
  • Tuning drifts.
  • No picture. Switches off by itself.
  • Channel 2 and channel 7 flashing.

  • The indication LEDs do not come on.

  • Searches for channels continuously.
  • Is occasionally intermittent.
  • White lines in the middle of the picture and no sound.
  • Greyscale adjustment.

  • Rolled up picture in the bottom part of the screen.

  • Horizontal ripple lines. Everything is ok after dismounting the AFC plug on U535.
  • The chroma is next to the rasters, even if the colour fails.

  • The appliance cannot be tuned (remains blocked on one channel).
  • With light picture contents the mains gurgles once.
  • 5.5MHz blanking circuit adjustment.

  • No audio (intermittently).
  • Bright picture with retrace lines first, then picture cuts out.

  • Frame module without IC TDA2780 (not enough in supply).
  • Switching on appliance a hiccuping operation is noted.
  • Green picture. Shuts down.
  • Channel drift.

  • Dynamic convergence adjustment.
  • Screen turns bright. Hiccups. Black, horizontal line in the picture.
  • Top scan only.
  • No luminance. Colour OK .
  • No tuning.
  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.

  • Code numbers of the phosphor bronze connections.

  • Channel selector V311 no longer available, will be V317.

  • Burst keying-out pulse adjustment.

  • Modification to be carried out on the chroma module in the event of replacing the IC TDA2523 with the TDA2525.
  • Screen turns bright. Appliance gulps.
  • Picture turns red, green or blue with flyback lines.

  • Low humming noise (B+ 49V) - set not hiccupping. (picture attached)
  • Blocks.
  • Memory loss. (picture attached)

  • The raster becomes dark and red.
  • General information.
  • Does not function with manual operation but does function with remote control. (SBR - 6631 information)

  • The upper part of the picture pulls up.
  • Horizontal white line. Audio OK .
  • No picture. No sound. Screen is grey. Occasionally sync is poor.
  • Vertical collapse.

  • Picture turns bright red, green or blue, flyback lines and then fails.
  • Cycles on/off.
  • Shuts down (intermittently).

  • Picture and sound have rhythmical interference, even without the station, tuning voltage varies.

  • Supply section oscillator adjustment.
  • Bright/dark interference stripes. Picture may disappear intermittently
  • No tuning. only on certain channels.
  • One colour missing.
  • The appliance makes a light gurgling sound, occurs occasionally after some time.
  • Focus potentiometer.

  • Red smear on picture.

  • The appliance does not identify the programmes.

  • Picture jitters. at top.

  • RC and control panel operation do not function (only 1 channel).

  • Horizontal streaks across picture.
  • +12V supply adjustment.

  • After working for a few hours, loss of memory and no tuning seach.
  • Vertical deflection fault. Pincushion distortion. Horizontal line on picture.
  • VCR time constant: 26 C 668.
  • The remote control does not function. The green LED lights up irregularly.
  • The appliance gurgles with high voltage and sound. No picture.
  • Slight east/west problem (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • EHT (excessive).
  • Auxiliary oscillator adjustment.
  • The raster is egg shaped.
  • Horizontal size varies. Knock sensitive.

  • Impossible to adjust the East/West module (U555). The raster remains distorted (narrow) in the lower part of the screen while the top part is wide. (with circuit diagram extract)

  • Sound unit (10W-HiFi).

  • Vertical sync adjustment.
  • Wow and flutter. Knock sensitive.
  • Picture gets lighter, flyback lines, then appliance fails (even after a short playing time).
  • Overvoltage protection adjustment.

  • HF AGC adjustment.
  • Switching on/off rapidly, slow loud hiccupping.
  • 5.5MHz adjustment - Sound section.
  • Every few hours appliance independently switches on and off for a short time.
  • Barrel shaped picture.

  • 140V = 70-80V. Set comes on after a while.
  • Does not tune to optimum. Station is tuned too sharply.

  • The picture turns a glaring red, green, blue, it may occur only after some time (service info for SBR -6631)
  • Touch controls do not function.
  • Disturbance lines and shaky picture.
  • TV has poor luminosity and every now and then the picture shrinks at the centre forming a horizontal thin line. (6631 tips)
  • The focus unit is replaced.
  • The TV does not switch on from the switch but only from the remote control.
  • No switching between UHF and VHF. Switching voltage is 10V on both at the same time.
  • The connected video recorder produces a freeze frame that shakes and jumps.
  • Vertical interference lines in all of the picture during UHF and VHF. No flyback lines.
  • R.G.B. amplifiers. (6631 tip from SBR)
  • Lines in the picture caused by loose contacts on the module contact plug. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • When search is switched on, the appliance no longer stops and the screen darkens. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • No programming. Dark screen.
