6633 / SBR [TV]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for 6633 / SBR.

List of fault symptoms:
  • 5.5MHz adjustment - Sound section.
  • Picture is upside down.
  • Volume varies.
  • No picture. Switches off by itself.
  • No switching between UHF and VHF. Switching voltage is 10V on both at the same time.
  • The picture is distorted and folds over at the bottom. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Rolled up picture in the bottom part of the screen.
  • Horizontal sync adjustment.
  • White screen. (SBR - 6633 information)
  • The appliance cannot be tuned (remains blocked on one channel).
  • No line tracking. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Screen turns bright. Appliance gulps.
  • TV does not switch on; there is only the M1 voltage = 285V. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Band 4 and 5 does not function.
  • No memory. (SBR - 6633 information)
  • No line synchronisation. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • The connected video recorder produces a freeze frame that shakes and jumps.
  • Colour is faulty, flyback lines and smoke from R610. (picture attached)
  • Shuts down. after a while.
  • Every few hours appliance independently switches on and off for a short time.
  • Blue picture. after a while. Switches off by itself.
  • The picture darkens when the colour is turned up.
  • Blank raster and the high frequency cable connection on the picture is burnt out. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Tuning is faulty, snow on UHF, no band III, the fault occurs after spraying. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Tip buttons do not work.
  • Picture turns white with flyback lines and fails. (picture attached)
  • Impossible to adjust the East/West module (U555). The raster remains distorted (narrow) in the lower part of the screen while the top part is wide. (with circuit diagram extract)

  • Is occasionally intermittent.
  • No brightness control. Retrace lines. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Vertical deflection fault. Pincushion distortion. Horizontal line on picture.
  • The upper part of the picture pulls up.
  • Does not function with manual operation but does function with remote control.
  • RC and control panel operation do not function (only 1 channel).
  • Pincushion distortion.
  • Flyback lines.
  • 140V = 70-80V. Set comes on after a while.

  • Does not change channels. Audio and picture OK .
  • Frame module without IC TDA2780 (not enough in supply). (6633 SBR repair tip)
  • Horizontal white line. Audio OK .
  • Searches for channels continuously.
  • Picture gets lighter, flyback lines, then appliance fails (even after a short playing time).

  • The sound varies: soft and loud.
  • Sound unit (10W-HiFi).
  • 4.43MHz trap adjustment - Luminance circuit.
  • Standardised chroma module.
  • HF AGC adjustment.
  • Tripping. at start-up.

  • Audio is set to maximum. The display control does not function. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Wavy lines are visible vertically.
  • The focus unit is replaced.

  • With light picture contents the mains gurgles once.
  • Picture and sound have rhythmical interference, even without the station, tuning voltage varies.
  • Barrel shaped picture.
  • Bright raster, M6 too high (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Horizontal ripple lines. Everything is ok after dismounting the AFC plug on U535.
  • No programming. Dark screen.
  • Channel 2 and channel 7 flashing.

  • R.G.B. amplifiers.
  • Lower vertical foldover. (picture attached)
  • The remote control does not function. The green LED lights up irregularly.
  • Greyscale adjustment.
  • Overvoltage protection adjustment.

  • After switching to TXT, only TXT mode is displayed but no TXT appears.
  • No VCR, no sound, blank raster. (picture attached)
  • Switching on appliance a hiccuping operation is noted.
  • Blank picture, the sound is present. The appliance switches over. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Wow and flutter. Knock sensitive.
  • Red smear on picture.
  • TV has poor luminosity and every now and then the picture shrinks at the centre forming a horizontal thin line.
  • The picture distorts in the corners, it is sideways to the middle. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No picture and no sound - only a little noise in the sound. The channels cannot be tuned. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No vertical deflection. (picture attached)
  • EHT (excessive).

  • Horizontal streaks across picture.

  • Code numbers of the phosphor bronze connections.
  • White lines in the middle of the picture and no sound.
  • No luminance. Colour OK .
  • Varicap voltage adjustment.
  • Connection of a loop system to the TV.

  • Horizontal size varies. Knock sensitive.
  • Replacing TDA2523 with TDA2525. (6633 SBR repair tip)

  • Modification to be carried out on the chroma module in the event of replacing the IC TDA2523 with the TDA2525.
  • Channels cannot be switched over also there are no analogous functions.
  • Dark picture. intermittently.

  • The picture is covered by horizontal black stripes.

  • Vertical sync adjustment.
  • The raster is egg shaped.
  • The picture turns dark after some colour occasionally disappears.
  • Vertical collapse.

  • All functions are distorted during operation.

  • Blocks.
  • Picture turns red, green or blue with flyback lines.

  • Cycles on/off.
  • Burst keying-out pulse adjustment.

  • No tuning.
  • Fuse 562 is defective. After replacing it the appliance functions.

  • The TV does not switch on from the switch but only from the remote control.
  • After working for a few hours, loss of memory and no tuning seach.
  • No vertical deflection. intermittently.
  • +12V supply adjustment.
  • Uniform faded picture.
  • East-west amplitude cannot be controlled easily. The picture's width varies when the contrast is changed. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Dynamic convergence adjustment.
  • Channel drift.
  • When switching on the TV is ok. After a few minutes when adjusting the saturation it moves frequency.
  • The appliance gurgles with high voltage and sound. No picture.
  • No HT, loss of display. Power supply OK.
  • Disturbance lines and shaky picture.
  • General information.
  • The chroma is next to the rasters, even if the colour fails.

  • Safety test after repair.
  • No or poor audio. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Horizontal lines.
  • Colour purity adjustment.

  • One colour missing.

  • Lower side of picture is black.
  • Focus potentiometer.
  • +145V supply voltage adjustment.
  • Bright picture with retrace lines first, then picture cuts out. (6633 tips)

  • Line across picture and squealing noise. (picture attached)

  • The raster becomes dark and red.

  • Green picture. Shuts down.
  • Switching on/off rapidly, slow loud hiccupping.
  • Does not tune to optimum. Station is tuned too sharply.
  • The appliance makes a light gurgling sound, occurs occasionally after some time.
  • After switching the appliance on, it is not tuned. After switching to another channel, the tuning is o.k. again. (service info for SBR -6633)
  • High peeping sound, the television functions properly otherwise, the line transformer is ok. (picture attached)
  • Inverted picture.
  • No function, the appliance gurgles.
  • The picture lightens up, the appliance gurgles due to a high beam current. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • No tuning. only on certain channels. (SBR - 6633 information)
  • Shuts down (intermittently).
  • Top scan only.
  • The appliance does not identify the programmes.
  • Touch controls do not function.
  • No picture. No sound. Screen is grey. Occasionally sync is poor.
  • Sound module IC TDA2610Q no longer available.
  • Clock TXT decoder adjustment without measurement equipment.
  • Picture jitters. at top.
  • E/W fault. intermittently. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • VCR time constant: 26 C 668.
  • In display only even nos light up.
  • The picture is too small and disappears. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • No picture, sound is present, flashing occurs when switching off. (picture attached)
  • The picture is too small and East/West correction is incorrect.
  • Picture ringing, double vision.
  • No audio (intermittently).
  • Bright/dark interference stripes. Picture may disappear intermittently
  • The picture turns a glaring red, green, blue, it may occur only after some time
  • Burnt high voltage cable at the picture tube. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Screen turns bright. Hiccups. Black, horizontal line in the picture.

  • 5.5MHz blanking circuit adjustment. (6633 tips)
  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
  • Change of mains switch order number.
  • Crooked horizontal deflection at the top and bottom of the picture (looks like op east/west fault). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Channel selector V311 no longer available, will be V317.
  • No colour. after a while.
  • No functions. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Picture is pinched in in the middle. (picture attached)
  • Weak or no contrast. (picture attached)
  • The indication LEDs do not come on.

  • Tuning drifts.
