6637 / SBR [TV 66 (62) cm picture]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for 6637 / SBR.
List of fault symptoms:
- Colour is faulty, flyback lines and smoke from R610. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Picture gets lighter, flyback lines, then appliance fails (even after a short playing time).
- Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
- The appliance does not identify the programmes.
- No HT, loss of display. Power supply OK.
- The chroma is next to the rasters, even if the colour fails.

- No memory.
- Bright picture with retrace lines first, then picture cuts out.
- The picture is too small and East/West correction is incorrect.

- Volume varies.

- Clock TXT decoder adjustment without measurement equipment.

- General information.
- Safety test after repair.

- The sound varies: soft and loud.

- Wavy lines are visible vertically.
- Burst keying-out pulse adjustment.
- Pincushion distortion.

- No colour. after a while.

- 4.43MHz trap adjustment - Luminance circuit.

- Blocks.
- Picture turns red, green or blue with flyback lines.
- No tuning. only on certain channels.
- The upper part of the picture pulls up.

- No audio (intermittently).
- Lower side of picture is black.
- Is occasionally intermittent.
- TV has poor luminosity and every now and then the picture shrinks at the centre forming a horizontal thin line.
- Shuts down. after a while.
- No function, the appliance gurgles.
- When switching on the TV is ok. After a few minutes when adjusting the saturation it moves frequency.
- All functions are distorted during operation.

- After switching the appliance on, it is not tuned. After switching to another channel, the tuning is o.k. again.
- Top scan only.

- The picture turns dark after some colour occasionally disappears.

- Picture is upside down.
- Impossible to adjust the East/West module (U555). The raster remains distorted (narrow) in the lower part of the screen while the top part is wide. (part of circuit diagram displayed)

- VCR time constant: 26 C 668. (6637 tip from SBR)
- In display only even nos light up.
- The connected video recorder produces a freeze frame that shakes and jumps.

- EHT (excessive).
- No picture. No sound. Screen is grey. Occasionally sync is poor.
- The remote control does not function. The green LED lights up irregularly.

- No programming. Dark screen.
- Green picture. Shuts down.
- Rolled up picture in the bottom part of the screen.
- Uniform faded picture.
- With light picture contents the mains gurgles once.

- The focus unit is replaced.
- RC and control panel operation do not function (only 1 channel).
- Colour purity adjustment.

- Screen turns bright. Appliance gulps.

- Connection of a loop system to the TV.

- The picture is covered by horizontal black stripes.

- The TV does not switch on from the switch but only from the remote control.
- Touch controls do not function.
- Dynamic convergence adjustment.

- Searches for channels continuously.
- Does not change channels. Audio and picture OK .
- Sound unit (10W-HiFi).
- Greyscale adjustment.

- The picture turns a glaring red, green, blue, it may occur only after some time

- Picture and sound have rhythmical interference, even without the station, tuning voltage varies.
- No luminance. Colour OK .

- +12V supply adjustment.
- Cycles on/off.
- The raster becomes dark and red.
- Fuse 562 is defective. After replacing it the appliance functions.
- Vertical foldover at the bottom, stretched and jittering at the top. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Barrel shaped picture.
- The picture lightens up, the appliance gurgles due to a high beam current. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Screen turns bright. Hiccups. Black, horizontal line in the picture.

- Band 4 and 5 does not function.
- Supply section oscillator adjustment.
- Varicap voltage adjustment.

- Shuts down (intermittently).

- 140V = 70-80V. Set comes on after a while.
- The indication LEDs do not come on.

- R.G.B. amplifiers.

- Frame module without IC TDA2780 (not enough in supply).
- The picture darkens when the colour is turned up. (service info for SBR -6637)
- Channel 2 and channel 7 flashing.
- Modification to be carried out on the chroma module in the event of replacing the IC TDA2523 with the TDA2525.
- Vertical interference lines in all of the picture during UHF and VHF. No flyback lines.
- Horizontal ripple lines. Everything is ok after dismounting the AFC plug on U535.

- One colour missing.
- Horizontal sync adjustment.
- Inverted picture.

- Vertical sync adjustment.
- HF AGC adjustment.
- Picture linearity is faulty, the east/ west correction distorts occasionally. (picture attached)

- No switching between UHF and VHF. Switching voltage is 10V on both at the same time.
- Horizontal size varies. Knock sensitive.
- Does not tune to optimum. Station is tuned too sharply.

- Burnt high voltage cable at the picture tube. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Picture ringing, double vision.
- After switching to TXT, only TXT mode is displayed but no TXT appears.
- Code numbers of the phosphor bronze connections.
- Horizontal white line. Audio OK .

- Switching on appliance a hiccuping operation is noted.
- Tuning drifts.
- High peeping sound, the television functions properly otherwise, the line transformer is ok. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
- Overvoltage protection adjustment.
- Disturbance lines and shaky picture.
- Red smear on picture.
- Tripping. at start-up.
- No picture, sound is present, flashing occurs when switching off. (with circuit diagram extract)

- Screen is only white and there is no rustling noise. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
- Tuning is faulty, snow on UHF, no band III, the fault occurs after spraying. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
- Picture turns bright red, green or blue, flyback lines and then fails.
- The raster is egg shaped.
