DV6303S / SHARP [TV (Standard)]

List of fault symptoms:
  • Q701 fails again.
  • Horizontal phase shift adjustment - Service mode.
  • Blank raster.
  • Incorrect start-up. Screen flickers, cannot be controlled.

  • When aerial connected appliance is locked onto one channel, manual and RCU controls do not function (RCU ok if aerial partially removed).
  • Only the standby-led burns. No start up, also no reaction with the remote.
  • Excessive horizontal size. Pincushion distortion.
  • Service info: Adjustment of the horizontal amplitude.
  • No picture. No sound. Functions only after several restarts.
  • Certain stations cannot be reprogrammed.
  • No picture.
  • No picture, high voltage is present, vertical deflection is present. Cut off voltage is only 1.3V. (DV6303S tip from SHARP)
  • Appliance has Teletext faults when receiving via a satellite system. (picture attached)
  • TV switches to teletext when switched on and after awhile jumps back to regular picture. TXT is fine.
  • No channel change or volume adjustment.
  • Service info: Adjustment of the red section.
  • Clicking noise.
  • No start-up. Standby and power LED simultaneously lit.
  • Q701 S/C.
  • Picture is too bright. G2 cannot be adjusted.
  • No audio muting at switch over. No indication in the display eg. volume or Teletext. (with circuit diagram extract)

  • No picture and no sound. If appliance is switched off and on again, it functions faultlessly.

  • Squeal from PSU. No other functions.

  • No vertical deflection.

  • No E/W correction.
  • Grey picture, diagonal stripes and torn edges. (picture attached)
  • Service info: adjustment of the vertical phase.
  • Vertical wavy lines at the top edge when cold (station logo is severely distorted). Picture (nearly) normal after a short time.
  • Does not switch to standby. intermittently.
  • Test line in top third of picture.
  • Mostly black screen with intermittent vertical bars. Picture sometimes goes completely blue. Sound is ok intermittently.
  • Service info: E/W- and trapezium corrections.
  • Intermittently spots in picture or picture too wide. (DV6303S tip from SHARP)
  • Picture hardly visible, it appears with coloured dots on white screen.
  • Line on left edge of picture.
  • Picture shifted horizontally. Colour fault. (SHARP - DV6303S information)
  • Vertical symmetry adjustment - Service mode.
  • Service info: Trapezium 2 adjustment.
  • Does not start intermittently, squeaks (hiccups) when starting from standby mode. (picture attached) (DV6303S SHARP repair tip)
  • White screen. OSD OK .
  • Poor start-up (needs approx 3-4 attempts).
  • 150V cannot be adjusted.
  • Line tearing. at top.
  • Poor picture. Distorted picture. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Occasionally a horizontal line visible for a short time. Then switches immediately to standby. (DV6303S tips)
  • Trapezoid picture. at top.
  • Service info: Adjusting the VCO.
  • Picture shifted horizontally.
  • Venetian blind effect, picture is hardly recognisable. Sound OK. Error occurs either via aerial and via scart. (SHARP - DV6303S information)
  • Shading in picture.
  • Line end stage does not run
  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
  • Service info: Audio adjustment T208 5.74MHz.
  • Fault in the power supply: transistor Q701 is defective again immediately after switch on. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Black screen. Horizontal line.

  • Reduced vertical size.
  • Tuning menú does not appear. No TXT. No OSD.

  • No sound. Buzzing.
  • Switches off by itself. in standby.
  • Dark blank raster.

  • No picture. No sound. Operating LED switches at start up, but stays red, not green.
  • Switches to standby. after a few seconds.
  • Poor linearity.
  • Service info: Adjustment of the chrominance/luminance delay.

  • Dark picture.

  • Vertical fails (line) when changing channels or with especially large jumps in brightness.

  • Power switch has to be switched 6-10 times when cold until appliance starts.

  • Disable the protective circuit.

  • Weak contrast.

  • No OSD. No TXT.

  • No picture. when cold. Vertical fault. after warm-up.
  • Grey and white picture. No sync or TXT activity.
  • Arcing.
  • Picture is bright. TXT bright on bright background. Video signal only dimly distinguishable.
  • No picture. via tuner. Audio OK .
  • Bright white picture, very faint and speckled in appearance. Only red and blue flecks in test picture.
  • Enter service mode.

  • Dark picture. Poor picture. Retrace lines.
  • White picture or no raster.
  • Sychronous fault, on the right blanking interval.
  • E/W fault.
  • Poor or no start-up. Red LED lights, green LED lights up and then goes out. After 10-20 start-up attempts, switches on with E/W-error and functions for 10 mins. Mains transformer buzzes.

  • Squealing from PSU.
  • Service info: Trapezium adjustment 1.
  • Switches to standby. after start-up.
  • Dead. after start-up. Standby LED lit .
  • Picture has horizontally shifted and has colour error.
