CTV1401 / TAI [TV]

List of fault symptoms:

- Protection circuit trips too early.

- Switched mode power supply trips when warm.

- Reduced horizontal size.

- Stripes over the picture.
- No contrast.
- Frame synchronisation poor.
- Appliance trips when warm.
- Line oscillator does not function.

- No colour.

- Stuck in standby.
- Infra-red receiver does not function.
- Poor picture quality, smearing, milkiness, glistening on peak whites or insufficient brightness.
- Picture tube is not lit.

- Intermttently powers down.
- Picture snowy looks like a tuner fault.
- Dark picture.
- EHT missing, line timebase ok.
- Dead.
- Inadequate colour identification.
- Height is reduced and picture foldover.
- Focus problems.
- Field bounce or jittering.
- Occasionally appliance switches off.
- Outside of picture is wavy (depending on beam current).
- Goes back to channel 1.
- Intermittent frame bounce.
- Reverting to channel 1.
- Sound and vision (drop out, signal missing).

- Unstable picture, line hold control has no effect.
- Vertical jitter.
- Signal is intermittent.

- Channel changes at random.
