VVE182 / TASHIKO [Video recorder]

List of fault symptoms:
  • Dead.
  • Laces up then stops.
  • Erratic audio erase and record.
  • Any one or more incorrect or missing transport function, loads ok.
  • Intermittent sound and picture signal output from tuner.
  • Hum bar during E-E and PB.
  • Assembly mode info.
  • Play or record are interrupted randomly and appliance returns to stop mode.

  • No colour REC.
  • E-E problems.
  • Appliance loads but no functions possible. (service info for TASHIKO -VVE182)
  • FF and PAUSE do not function correctly.
  • At switch on rewinds until off is pressed. Display indicates a cassette is inserted when it is not. Cassette not loaded but if a cassette is inserted manually it functions in Play, REW, FF etc and also ejects.
  • Drum servo is not positioned correctly, lines in the picture. (service info for TASHIKO -VVE182)
  • During PLAY appliance switches to REW.
  • When warm the drum speed alters.
  • No functions.
  • No display.
  • Incorrect capstan and/or reel motor speeds.
  • Intermittent deck functions.
  • No tape end stop.
  • Appliance functions erratically.
  • Display is missing plus possible incorrect mechanical function.
  • Fails to play or record intermittently.
  • Laces but the drum does not rotate.
  • Playback picture is poor or intermittent.
  • Picture rolls or shudders.
  • Intermittent squealing noise from loading belt.
  • PB and E-E picture distorted and jumping.
  • Intermittent stops on record/play.
  • PDC display flickers with slight distortion in the aerial signal.

  • PLAY during LP or LP and SP is poor.
  • According to display and monitor, channels are tuned in and stored but by changing the channel storage, data is not stored and the system reverts to channel 21.
  • In the E-E and playback modes a single, large hum bar travels from the bottom to the top of the display on the monitor's screen.
  • Will not tune or change channels. The channel No. display permanently shows just two horizontal lines. Segments "G" and "G" only illuminated.
  • No sound on E/E.
  • Cannot change channels.
  • Cassette is not ejected, or loading/unloading incorrect.
  • Vertical collapse.
  • The appliance does not eject, squealing noise from loading belt and then the appliance shuts down.
  • No record LP, SP OK.
  • Capstan lock is missing or intermittent.
  • No FF. No REW.
  • No function, no clock. (VVE182 tip from TASHIKO)
  • No tuning starting from channel 50. OK with lower channels.
  • No PB.
  • Cannot load.
  • Back display is faintly lit with unwanted segments.
  • When switched on functions do not operate, squeals then goes to standby.
  • Clock loses time.
  • Tuning and clock set-up do not function.
  • Mechanical noise when ejecting tape.
  • Looks as though heads have gone.
  • Intermittently cannot change channels. (VVE182 tips)
  • No capstan rotation.
  • Capstan motor is free running. Locks only occasionally when appliance has warmed up.
  • Search tuning does not stop when station is found.
  • Only E-E sound.
  • Noise on picture.
