EV420LR / TAXAN [17" monitors]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for EV420LR / TAXAN.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Adjustments are not stored.
  • Dead. Low whistling.
  • Focus adjustment.
  • No function. PSU is defective. (EV420LR tip from TAXAN)

  • G1, G2, and background adjustment.
  • Colour temperature adjustment.
  • No function. Mains LED switches over from standby to function but no high voltage, no operating voltage for the line end stage.
  • Specifications.
  • Dead.
  • Line output stage does not work (UB).
  • H-centre, H-phase, H-size, V-centre, V-size adjustment.

  • F to V adjustment.
  • Picture fails occasionally.
  • ABL adjustment.
  • White stripe in the picture with normal brightness.
  • Picture is only red with flyback lines.
  • PSU is defective.
  • No picture. No drive of the line end stage operating voltage supply via I806 (UC3843) and Q808. Voltage for I806 only 6V instead of 15V.
  • One colour is missing. Other colours are overloaded with a fully turned up contrast. (EV420LR tip from TAXAN)
  • Defective PSU.
  • Picture width is too low. Voltage at pin 3 of line output transformer is only 53V.
  • No function, protective circuit reacts.
  • Only synchronises after a few mins. Heat sensitive.
  • Picture is light purple, no pots on the picture tube board. Brightness is slightly too high (adjustment with UG2). Adjustment of the operating point of the picture tube.
  • No picture. (EV420LR tips)
  • No function. LED lights up. Secondary voltage only a few volt. D802 on the primary gets hot. (EV420LR tip from TAXAN)
  • B+ adjustment.
  • E/W is distorted. Occasionally no OSD. Picture is bright.
  • Red stripes with a stronger contrast.
  • Picture is only bright with no content.
  • No function, all secondary voltages too low and pulsate, no horizontal drive, no switchover of the operating voltage for line end stage (pulsating with 65V).
  • No functions. (EV420LR TAXAN repair tip)
  • Picture is too bright, brightness is not controlled.
  • Resistor R859 is defective.
  • The adjusted values (picture position etc.) are not memorized.
  • No picture. Grey shimmer weakly visible on the screen.
  • Comparison for Q801 (SSS2N90), value for zener diode D804.
  • With resolution 640X480 picture is much too dark. All other resolutions ok.
