ICC6 / TCE [TV (chassis)]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for ICC6 / TCE.

List of fault symptoms:
  • Wavering verticals can be experienced with some prerecorded tapes. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • The red standby LED does not light up. TV functions but occasionally there is a bright flash and a dark screen. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • No RC functions. No front panel function. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Exiting the production mode.
  • No function, standby point is not visible.
  • TP16 becomes defective after a while.
  • PSU fails immediately after switch on.
  • Contrast average value is too high.
  • Picture shifted 4cm on the right and also 4cm black band on the left of the screen.
  • No blue.
  • No signal.
  • Bouncing picture.
  • Trips 9 times then dead. LED does not always blink.
  • Remains in stand-by position. No switch on from the RCU or from the front control panel.
  • When TV is switched on, after a brief moment the LED diode switches off and flashes intermittently.
  • Black screen. Audio OK .
  • Switches to standby. after a few seconds.
  • Pinkish screen and low luminance after a few minutes.

  • Dark picture. (picture attached)
  • No start-up.
  • Black screen.
  • Distorted picture. Strong streaking.
  • No audio. Picture OK . Switches to standby (after a few minutes). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Shuts down. intermittently. (service info for TCE -ICC6)
  • Comes on briefly, LED goes red then green then switches off. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Picture flickers with coloured OSD (eg from a VCR). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Function menu appears by itself. No controls. Same fault after 1 hr. (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • Secondary protective circuit TV01 and TV02 disconnects intermittently.
  • Switches to standby.
  • Line transformer starts up then stops. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Picture is out of frame by 5cm on right-hand side.
  • TV in safety mode. If the safety is removed, power supply voltage and line transformer OK, sound present but white screen, OSD OK. (picture attached)
  • No horizontal synchronisation. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • After changing channel six times, remains blocked on a channel.
  • Tuning menu suddenly appears in screen.
  • TV starts up, LED is green, then stops and starts up several times.
  • Goes occasionally to Hotel mode.
  • Contrast and/or gain is low.
  • No videotext mode.
  • Switches to standby. after start-up.
  • Switches on then goes to standby. Green LED lights up then switches off. TV trips.

  • Synchronisation problem. Picture is torn.
  • Screen is dark or picture is faint. Son present.
  • On/Off switch type MSA is worn after 10-12 months.
  • Sound volume slowly becomes low.
  • At start line transformer cracked. After replacing, Tv functions for three weeks then when it is started up LED becomes green for a second, line transformer starts up then TV goes into standby.
  • Shuts down. after a while.
  • Frame is very bright; regular Teletext. (part of circuit diagram displayed) (ICC6 tip from TCE)
  • Black screen or dark picture. No brightness adjustment possible.
  • Enter service mode.
  • Line stage does not start up.
  • Picture shifted to the right. OSD OK .
  • Pulsates twice then dead. Voltages on the primary: DP56: 12V, DP53: 21V, DP51: 119V (voltages taken after the 2 pulses). (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • Line transformer starts up then is interrupted rhythmically. Power supply OK. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Total failure. Line BU is defective. After replacing PSU, pulsates once. (picture attached)
  • AV time constantly incorrect during PB of MACRO encoded tapes. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • No start-up (intermittently). (ICC6 tip from TCE)
  • Picture folded over to a line.
  • Blurred OSD information, not legible. Letters become a white line.
  • No picture. No audio. OSD OK . (with circuit diagram extract)
  • White screen during tuner reception and via scart.
  • After approx 1 to 2 hours sound gets lower and then fails completely. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Incorrect brightness.
  • No horizontal deflection.
  • Tries to start up. Scanning appears for a short time. Pulsating. Green and red lights come on each in their turn. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Time base builds up then stops. EHT 120V has been disconnected. 120V present and power supply voltage ok, line transformer changed but the same. BUH314D replaced by S2055.
  • Standby light goes from red to green. Line transformer secondary voltages vary. Line transformer ok. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Picture is blurred horizontally. (ICC6 tips)
  • Picture is dark, screen menu ok.
  • Switches to AV by itself.
  • Protection mode activated.
  • Picture too bright even if G2 is decreased.
  • Base command of line transistor.
  • Reduced vertical size at top.
  • Line transformer pulsates twice then stops. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • White screen. Audio OK .
  • LED flashes 6 times and tries to start up then nothing. (picture attached)
  • Loss of colours when changing channel. Settings ok. Modification IT 182 has been done. OSD remains in colour. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Intermittent vertical deflection, only lines in the bottom part of the picture
  • No picture in HF or in scart. Sound ok.
  • No audio (intermittently). (with circuit diagram extract)
  • No HV.
  • Interference in picture.
  • Picture darkens at the corners after a slight moire effect, then becomes progressively dark up to centre of screen. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Switches to scart after 10-15 minutes. Indicates "RGB". RC is always active and allows the switching to RF. (ICC6 tip from TCE)
  • One of rectifier diodes DP0609 is S/C.
  • Stuck in standby.
  • Does not stop switching to scart position or RGB while watching a TV programme.
  • Vertical lines are distorted horizontally. E/W equalizer can not be adjusted correctly.
  • No audio and stop function does not work during programme search. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Production changes - Chrominance Circuit IV01.
  • Protection of IF01 (TDA1771). (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Activating the install menu.
  • Picture shifted to the right. Unstable picture. (service info for TCE -ICC6)
  • Intermittently no functions via the RC or the keys of the TV panel.
  • Picture shifts to the right. 2cm red stripe on left side.
  • Very dark picture in scart but sound ok. In normal mode, picture and sound ok. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Defective frame. Picture appears on bottom half of screen with foldover at bottom and flyback line on top. (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • Vertical line. (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • No sound. No picture. Snowy screen intermittently. Picture and sound occasionally return. Everything OK via SCART.
  • No functions. (picture attached)
  • LED flickers and goes red then green.
  • No RC function. A red P1 displayed at left of picture.
  • No start-up (when cold). (with circuit diagram extract)

  • Black dashes on screen. Occasionally nothing else but snow.
  • No start up of CTV, start up possible when connecting base of TR96 to ground. Operation ok. (ICC6 TCE repair tip)
  • Displays 'PI' in red and channel number at bottom right. No functions with RC. Power On OK with TV key.

  • Brightness varies.
  • TL19 fails in line output stage.

  • Switches to standby (after start-up).
  • No or very weak sound in PAL.

  • No colour. in PB and REC.

  • Noise at switch on. No sound. (service info for TCE -ICC6)
  • Reduced vertical size at bottom. Retrace lines.
  • IC compatibility.
  • Low contrast. No contrast control.

  • Coloured tinge in picture.
  • Pumping, line transformer starts up. Power supply ok. Line transistor command ok. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Vertical shaking on some UHF channels. (Appliances with Teletext board DVT6601).
  • Picture in black and white in scart when going through a VCR. Picture ok in RGB signal.
  • Blue picture.
  • Protection mode activated. LED blinks .

  • Dead. (part of circuit diagram displayed)
  • No picture. Audio and OSD OK . (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Picture has shifted to the right without loosing sync.
  • Vertical amplitude is too low.
  • No picture. intermittently. OSD and TXT OK .
  • TV starts up then base command signal of the line transistor is interrupted in a rhythmic fashion.
  • Bright raster. Flyback lines.
  • No colour. via SCART.
  • Lines in picture. after a few minutes.
  • Diodes DP06, DP07, DP08 and DP09 (each 1N4007) fail at start-up. (extract of circuit diagram attached) (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • Sound ok between min and halfway then remains at average value between halfway and max. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • At start up, line scan switches on, trips and goes to standby. During start up, standby LED fades out and becomes normal again. (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • Black and white picture when cold and when changing channels. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Value of RF27.
  • Does not switch to standby. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Low brightness.
  • No sound. Switches over channels continuously. Channel search doesn't stop. Standby switch over is not complete: picture cuts off, but scanning functions. Cannot switch to service mode.
  • No reception, snow on screen. Tuner power supply ok, tuner ok, IF board has been changed, scart ok.
  • Picture compressed in lower part with flyback lines.

  • Entire picture shifted to the right, beside the delay line VV01.
  • After switch on, vertical centering has shifted intermittently upwards approx 2 cms. It returns to normal position after approx 10 mins.
  • No picture. No sound. High voltage builds up. Appliance then switches off. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Picture has shifted to the right, twitches sometimes.
  • No start-up. Standby LED flashes .
  • No picture. after a few minutes.

  • No synchronisation. No audio. via tuner. OK via SCART .
  • No image Menu and TXT OK.
  • Field bounce variable with picture content.
  • PSU collapses.
  • No start-up from standby.
  • Line stage does not start up.
  • Permanent channel display with the selections running through after 5 minutes.
  • Transistor to be used for decoupling of power supply.
  • Vertical picture position shifts intermittently upwards approx 2 cm after switch on. It is OK after approx 10 mins.
  • No picture. via SCART. (service info for TCE -ICC6)
  • Line transistor base signal cuts out in a rythmic fashion. Line transformer starts up and cuts out indefinitely. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • Horizontal jitter. (with circuit diagram extract)
  • Lines in picture. Line tearing.
  • PI displayed in top left corner. No RC operation.
  • Loud audio. Volume varies. at start-up.
  • Vertical picture foldover at centre of tube. Picture is faint and blue, probably after a bolt of lightening.
  • Scanning starts at switch on, then power supply cuts out immediately or after a few mins. When PSU works, it whistles depending on picture content. (ICC6 TCE repair tip)
  • Screen is dark. Sound and display on the screen are ok.
  • Switches intermittently at random between programmes and volume display is visible on screen.
  • No colour. when changing channels.
  • Does not function after switching on again. (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • PSU does not always start after switch on via front control or RC.
  • Switches to standby. after a few seconds. Cycles on/off.
  • Intermittently no picture; dark green raster. OSD bar is white. Sound OK.
  • How to unlock appliance.
  • At switch on line transformer starts up then stops. The various signals are perfect on the oscilloscope. Power supply ok and line transformer is not the cause.
  • Line transformer starts up. (picture attached)
  • Faulty OSD.
  • TP29 fails after switch on.
  • In HF dark screen and blue OSD but ok in scart. (extract of circuit diagram attached)
  • Can not be switched on from standby via front control or RC. (TCE - ICC6 information)
  • OSD illegible.
  • Slight whistling at switch on. Red LED on the front flashes. Normal voltage. (+ extract of circuit diagram)
  • No start-up. Red LED blinks.

  • Enable child lock.

  • White screen. Retrace lines. Switches to protection mode.
  • Horizontal line. Protection mode activated.

  • Standby light flashes green and occasionally does not flash after some time.
  • On some receivers frame bounce according to picture content.
