TCM68868 / TCM [TV]

List of fault symptoms:

  • Intermittent failure to start.
  • Reduced picture with lines but no picture content.

  • Incorrect field lock at switch on.

  • Black, horizontal lines in the lower half of the picture. Vertical output stage oscillates.
  • Dead. No display.
  • No audio. after start-up.
  • No function. Fuse F601 1A in power supply o/c.
  • No picture. Audio OK .
  • Text characters appear after 3-4 days of operation. RC does not function.
  • The appliance is tripping intermittently.
  • Vertical red stripes. (service info for TCM -TCM68868)
  • Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
  • Picture width jumps sporadically after some time and vertical waves run through on the right half of the picture. Temperature sensitive.
  • Grey screen. No picture. OSD and TXT OK .

  • White screen.
  • Deflection BU fails immediately at switch on.
  • HV flashover from line transformer.
  • Line output stage becomes defective.
  • HV attempts to start up.

  • Tuning problems, drifts off tune.
  • Tripping.

  • Picture rolls.
  • No picture after switch on. Sound and deflection ok. Ok after running for 10 mins and switching off and on again.
  • No start-up. intermittently.
  • No vertical deflection.
  • Crackling noises, channels keep changing, volume can go high.
  • No picture. No sound. Red LED is briefly displayed.
  • No picture, just a plain white raster, with a blue band on the left hand side.
  • Noisy picture and sound. No LED's lit.
  • Cycles on/off.
  • Reduced horizontal size. Poor vertical linearity.
  • E/W error. Slight brushing in picture.
  • Set dead, fuse blown.
  • No picture. Sound ok, G2 ok.
  • No picture.
  • No E/W correction. Excessive horizontal size.
  • Poor vertical synchronisation.
  • Bright picture. after a while. Flyback lines. Shuts down.
  • Bright picture. Flyback lines.
  • Flyback lines. on upper half screen.
  • Deflection transistor Q307 is after 10 min. S/C.
  • Line transformer fails.
  • Vertical bar.
  • No start-up.
  • Low HT, intermittent tripping and field cramping.
  • Low brightness.
  • Failure of chopper transistor (intermittent). (TCM - TCM68868 information)
  • Line shift.
  • Black screen.
  • Picture is curved inward on both sides in the middle of screen. No E/W correction.
  • No picture. No audio.
  • Field cramp and intermittent tripping.
  • Only a horiztontal line in picture centre.
  • No HV.
  • Enter service mode.
  • PSU does not start up correctly.
  • Comes on for a short time.
  • Chopper transistor keeps blowing.
  • Intermittent audio (via SCART).
  • Mains fuse fails.
  • Dark picture. intermittently.
  • Dead.
  • Horizontal line. in the centre.
