BS950 / TEC [TV (chassis)]

The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers supplies the following faults for BS950 / TEC.

List of fault symptoms:
  • No picture or sound. Display shows P1. No response to control on appliance. Display flashes when RC keys are pressed.
  • White screen. No audio.
  • Picture shifted to the bottom.
  • Distorted picture.
  • No picture content. White picture gets saturated and appliance switches off. Sound OK.
  • No sound. Crackling noise and light hum are heard at switch on.
  • No picture. No sound. Static discharge at switch on. (TEC - BS950 information)
  • Enter Service Menu.
  • No picture or sound. Only dots on the screen.
  • Snow on some VHF channels intermittently. Picture in UHF OK.
  • Specks in grey parts of picture. Grey to black transitions go in steps.
  • No picture.
  • Blue screen with white lines at switch-on, then appliance switches off.
  • Enter service mode.
  • Field has shifted towards bottom of screen.
  • No colour on main picture. Colour is OK with PiP. No picture in AV mode.
  • Faulty Dutch TXT.
  • Power supply fuse has blown.
  • White screen then immediately switches off.
  • Blue screen at switch-on, then appliance switches off.
  • No function. Only three dots in display.
  • Teletext does not work.
  • Does not start up. Display lights up. (TEC - BS950 information)
  • Shaking vertical deflection. (BS950 tip from TEC)
  • Picture runs horizontally. Black band of approx 10cm.
  • Very dark screen. Sound OK.
  • Stuck in standby. (service info for TEC -BS950)
  • E/W fault.
  • Picture cuts out on VHF tuner.
  • Picture torn with intermittent sound in UHF mode. Everything OK in VHF mode.
  • No picture (nor via AV scart). Sound, OSD and TXT are OK.
  • Low audio.
  • White screen then immediately switches off. Blurred TXT. Sound OK.
  • Loss of red. All other functions OK.
  • No picture. Sound OK. Picture OK via SCART.
  • Does not switch on with RC. OK with mains switch.
  • Colour tending towards red.
  • Completely blue screen at switch on, then appliance switches off.
  • Displays C55. RC and user control don't function. (service info for TEC -BS950)
  • White screen at switch on then appliance switches off.
  • Dark screen. Cannot be controlled by RC.
  • No start-up. (BS950 TEC repair tip)
