CT5500 / TECHLINE [TV]
The EURAS repair tip database for professional technicians and service engineers
supplies the following faults for CT5500 / TECHLINE.
List of fault symptoms:
- Switches to standby. after start-up.
- Stuck in standby. Red LED flashes for a short while.
- Switches to standby. intermittently.
- Stuck in standby. LED is green then red.
- Black screen.
- R809 (0R47) defective and Q801 (P3NA60) s/c.
- PSU drops out.
- No vertical deflection.
- No horizontal synchronisation (intermittently). Switches to standby.
- No start-up. Red LED lit and blinks when button CH (+) or RC is pressed. No green LED.
- Clicking noise.
- No HV. Audio OK .
- No functions. LED is red .
- Shuts down for a sec. Standby LED also switches down for a sec.
- Total failure, PSU pumps.
- Poor picture. Intermittent colour. Flashing picture.
- Shuts down. LED is red .
- No display.
- Dead. Standby LED does not light.
- Line output transistor fails repeatedly. after a while.
- Standby LED is red and TV trips. LED flickers when trying to start up.
- Dead.
- Picture height only approx. 15cm and compressed at the bottom.
- Horizontal line and approx 5 cm picture content. (CT5500 TECHLINE repair tip)
- PSU ticking. Red LED blinks.
- No HV.
- Dead. LED is red . (TECHLINE - CT5500 information)
- Can be switched on via RC or PR +- on appliance only after several attempts.
- Line tearing.
- Horizontal lines have notches (mouse teeth).
- Picture is red, bright parts have a bluish tint.
- Stuck in standby. Red LED turns green for a sec when trying to turn on.
- Standby is lit, cannot be switched on. Smells burnt.
- Flashing picture.
- Switches to standby. at start-up.
- Line output transistor fails repeatedly.
- No picture. via SCART. Audio OK .
- Goes to standby immediately after switch on.
- Bright raster. Flyback lines.
- No front panel function.
- Line BU fails after approx.10-20 min.
- Changes the channel after approx. 10 min. on the program site. Switches off when calling up the menu, returns with OSD shifted to the left.
- No TXT. No switch-over, page number is displayed but no picture content.
- Standby only, does not switch on via RC or control unit. Red LED flashes.
- No picture. after a few minutes.
- Clicking noise. in standby.
- No sound. Installation menu cannot be called up.
- Tripping. Red LED blinks.
- Line output stage BU808DFI is defective.
- Trips.

- Picture slightly wider than normal. No vertical amplitude. Picture and sound intermittent drop out.

- Picture shifted vertically.
- No functions. at start-up. LED blinks .
- Switches to protection mode. (CT5500 tips)
- Variation of PSU voltages.
- No E/W correction.
- No start-up. Red LED blinks.
- No OSD. Picture foldover. Bad linearity.

- No start-up. LED lit. .
- Does not shut down. No colour.
- Blue disc capacitor C812 blown.
- Only a horizontal line or no picture.
- No start-up. LED is red .

- LED is green after start up, squeaking.
- LED remains red with a slight flickering at start-up. If it starts up, PSU transformer whistles.
- No function, LED faintly flashes green, smells burnt.
- Shuts down. after start-up.
- Starts up briefly. LED is alight.
- Tube overfeeds. Flyback lines.
- No horizontal deflection.
- No picture. LED is green.
- E/W fault.
- No HV after diode D805.
- PSU pulsates. LED is green. Tripping. after start-up.
- Difficoult startup when cold, LED flashes and goes back to standby.
- Stuck in standby. Tripping.
- Slow start-up.

- Dead. Green LED flashes .
- No start-up. LED blinks .
- Keine Funktion, Standby OK. Nach Einschalten LED kurz grün, dann wieder rot.

- Ticking noise. in standby.
- Line output transistor Q603 (BU808) breaks down after 1hour runtime.
- No picture. OK via SCART .
- PSU pulsates. Red LED blinks.

- Floating moire-effect distortion around CRT.
- Low audio.

- Vertical foldover. after warm-up.
- Horizontal lines.
- PSU pulsates.
- Stuck in standby. LED is red .
- Standby LED starts to flash after switch on.
- Enter service mode.
- No start-up from standby.
- Dead. Standby LED flashes .
- No function, standby OK. LED lights green for a short time, then becomes red again.
- No audio. via AV.

- Excessive vertical size.
- Loud noise. in standby.
- No HV. Green LED flashes .
- Green LED is lit at switch on via RC, otherwise no function.
- PSU trips, pumps after switch on.
- Ripple on screen.
- BU808 fails after an hour.
- No channels.
- Ticking noise.
- No picture. Audio OK .
- Vertical collapse.
- Shuts down after start-up. HT heard.
- PSU Blown.
- At switch on blank raster, timer counts back from 5 min and set switches off.
- LED flashes green/red after switch on.

- No start-up. LED becomes green briefly, then reverts to red. (CT5500 tips)
- No start-up from standby. Red LED blinks.
- Disable hotel mode.
- Line output transistor fails repeatedly. after a few minutes.
- Excessive horizontal size. Pincushion distortion.
- No picture. (service info for TECHLINE -CT5500)
- No sound, no picture. Appliance is pumping regularly and green LED flashes briefly.
- Stuck in security.
- Q603 (BU808DFI) overheats.
- Excessive brightness.
- White horizontal line in the middle of the picture.
- Dead. LED lights dimly.
- Vertical fault. Picture is only 5cm high (from the middle of the picture to the bottom).
- Vertical foldover at top.
- No raster.
- No function. PSU works without a fault in protection mode.
- Grüne LED leuchtet beim Einschalten mit FB, sonst keine Funktion.
- PSU does not start up. LED flashes red/green.
- Tripping. LED blinks .
- Venetian blind effect.
- Excessive horizontal size.
- Switches to standby. after a few seconds.
- When stopping TV via RC, diode stays green and doesn't get red. Picture and sound are OK in standby but line transformer makes a fluttering noise. When restarting via RC, picture, sound and functions are OK.
- No functions.
- Tripping.
- Reduced horizontal size.
- No picture. Noise in picture. No tuning.
- PSU pulsates. at start-up.
- Slow start-up. when cold. (service info for TECHLINE -CT5500)
