- No picture or intermittent picture when hot.

- Ripple on picture with reduced width. Clears after a while.
- No functions, power supply is working.
- Uncontrollable sound high.
- Over volts surge at switch on.
- Offset picture to the right. (with circuit diagram extract)
- Intermittent RCU functions.
- No standby if switched off/on from mains socket.
- Tuning drift. Does not tune low frequency channels. (6093 tip from ULTRA)
- Flyback lines.
- Ringing on verticals.
- Vertical collapse.
- No sync. Sound muted.
- Frame fold over at top of screen with bright line across middle of screen.
- Mute LED on. (6093 tips)
- Picture narrowing from the sides.
- No sound (R156 burnt out is open circuit).
- Sound is excessive and cannot be controlled. Remote volume changes the brightness.
- When replacing frame output IC. (TDA3652 is no longer available.
- Weak contrast.
- Intermittent HT (135V). (6093 ULTRA repair tip)
- After heating up, the timer lock is very weak. If you change channels, the line synchronisation is occasionally correct but it goes wrong in relation to the frame synchronisation.
- Noise bars.
- Intermittent low gain.
- Stuck in standby. Receiver ticking.
- Low audio.
- No picture or sound. LEDs lit.
- No operation (intermittently).
- Field foldover at top with reduced width.
- No RC. Stuck on channel.
- Picture is grainy and sound noisy.

- No RC functions. Manual OK if RC lead disconnected.
- Radio and TV are dead.
- After approximately 20 minutes line tearing occurs.

- Picture flutters at certain brightness and control levels.
- Intermittent cuts out of all voltages except 12V.
- No scan.
- Line drift.
- Line frequency drifting.

- Standby LED stays on.
- Poor sync when warm.
- Insufficient purity.
- No RCU function, no front control function.
- Colour is missing on teletext.
- Sound blasts out. Colour and brightness varies.
- Intermittent crackle on left hand channel and plop when sound is muted. (6093 tips)
- Sound blares/brightness and colour varies.
- Clock and radio only, no TV.
- Flyback lines at top 1in.
- Line twitch.
- Blowing field output IC.
- Goes into standby or LED reads incorrect.
- Various hum bars or distorted picture.
- Interruptions.
- Battery dead.
- Appliance is slow to come on, about 10 seconds.
- Line synchronisation is weak and does not lock when cold.
- Snow or ghosting.
- Only lower half of text correct.
- PSU only starts intermittently. Sometimes it starts once a day but not in successive occasions.
- Blurry picture.
- Intermittently when the appliance is warm the RCU does not function.
- Trips.
- Grainy picture.
- Sound OK but no line.
- Small frame.
- Picture interference plus noise on sound.
- Appliance remains on programme 8.
- No switching to standby with RC (LED lit).
- Teletext drop out on one or two channels.
- No line sync.
- Height drifts.
- Field collapse, no sound and reduced width.
- Dark picture. No sound. Stuck in mute. No RC functions.
- Lines flash on picture, may not affect all channels.
- Wrong channel display.
- Low brightness.
- Width is reduced and East-West correction is poor.
- Excessive EHT damaged IC55 (TDA1170S).
- No picture and severe hum.
- Incorrect line speed. AV channels OK on prerecorded tapes.
- When appliance is warm synchronisation is weak.
- The appliance does not turn on from standby and then sticks on channel 1. (ULTRA - 6093 information)
- Lines flash on picture, may only affect some channels.
- EHT is excessive, IC55 (TDEA1170S) is damaged.
- Rolling with dark scenes. (6093 tip from ULTRA)
- F51 blown intermittently.
- When appliance is switched on the mains fuse blows.
- Loss of picture after 10 mins.
- Dead. High pitch whistle.
- Gain is low.
- Dead. Channel indicator OK.
- Noise bars across picture.
- Low gain.
- No or weak colour.
- Volume varies.

- Hum from set.
- Squealing noise from chopper Tx.
- Shuts down after a few mins.

- Stereo LED permanently on.
- Picture is missing, raster and sound correct.
- Line frequency appears on part of screen, when cold.
- No standby from remote (LED lights).
- No remote stuck on channel 8/6.
- The sound is ok, no conductor.
- E/W fault.
- RC works when a few feet away only.
- Thin lines across screen.
- Does not change channels.
- No remote functions step up/down button only.
- Colour fault.
- Will not come on if switched back on while still warm.
- Field roll (off air).
- Line lock is lost on all but video channel.
- Line pulling during warm up.
- Line collapses intermittently.
- The appliance blows line output transistor at switch on. (6093 tip from ULTRA)
- Field jitter with black lines across picture.
- Black lines at top of screen, increasing when warm.
- Line sync drift on TXT only.
- Intermittently goes into standby or TXT.
- No picture. No audio. Raster OK .
- No manual channel change. OK on RCU.
- Incorrect LED eg. 11 for 1 or 22 for 2.
- Line hold out of phase lock.
- Mains voltage hum: defective scanning, dirty. Birgit??
Lynn, I don't really know what is dirty. Could it be the degauss coil?
- Shading in picture.
- Blank screen with no RCU functions.
- HT and LT low.
- Line faults.

- No red or red band at top of picture.

- No picture or sound. Channel indicators OK.
- Picture is very noisy.
- Picture blacks out to white raster.
- No RC functions.
- IC101 (SAA5012) repeatedly fails on PC1515.
- Height problems.
- HT supply is high.
- Blank screen in TXT mode and only black graphics in mix mode.
- Smearing in picture.
- 115V HT rail reads high.
- Appliance switches off and back on. Fault diminuates after a few hours.

- Goes to standby when channel change selected intermittently.
- Excessive readings on all HT supplies from chopper transformer.

- Screeching noise from LOPT and D28 (BY299) S/C.
- No remote function after 30 minutes.
- Appliance is slow to start up and the picture pulses.
- Tuning fault (channel 1 memory has disappeared).
- Sound mute LED on. No channel display or RC function.
- At switch on line synchronisation is missing. (picture attached)
- Brightness fault.
- Black lines across top 1/3 spreading as set warms.

- Very intermittent failure to start up (works normally for days or even weeks).

- Red looks fluorescent, other colours appear weak.
- Moire pattern.
- Line synchronisation is missing.
- Picture is missing, just a green raster with flyback lines.
- Ticking noise in standby. (6093 tip from ULTRA)
- Poor sync lock when warm (approx 10 mins after switch on). If channel changed, line sync sometimes pulls in ok but at other times, slips through with field sync.
- Blank raster.
- Negative picture.
- No RC functions after 30 mins.
- Picture blanked out on TXT. (6093 tip from ULTRA)
- Poor line sync.
- Snow in picture. No channel display.
- The line control transistor T9062V TR67 has a short circuit and mutilates the safety resistor R222 (collector circuit).
- Bent verticals and whistle.
- Poor field sync with computers.
- Picture collapses.
- Solenoid operates after about 1 minute.
- Tuning fault (audio mute and channel change with the previous/following key fails).
- No TXT. Picture remains and is displaced to left.
- Displays AGC off tune errors for first 30 mins after switch on.
- Low contrast/weak picture and weak field sync. Colour OK.
- No field sync and no sound.
- Black horizontal lines across the screen.
